I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth *that* bare thee. 6 ¶ Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love *is* strong as death; jealousy *is* cruel as the grave: the coals thereof *are* coals of fire, *which hath a* most vehement flame.* 7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if *a* man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. 8 ¶ We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for? 9 If she *be* a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she *be* a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar. 10 I *am* a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.* 11 Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand *pieces* of silver. 12 My vineyard, which *is* mine, *is* before me: thou, O Solomon, *must have* a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred. 13 Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear *it*. 14 ¶ Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.* [Song of Solomon 7](/study/song-of-solomon/7) [Isaiah 1](/study/isaiah/1) ## Commentary To verse 1 **that thou:** [Isaiah 7:14](/kjv/isaiah/7/14), [Isaiah 9:6](/kjv/isaiah/9/6), [Haggai 2:7](/kjv/haggai/2/7), [Zechariah 9:9](/kjv/zechariah/9/9), [Malachi 3:1](/kjv/malachi/3/1), [Matthew 13:16](/kjv/matthew/13/16), [Matthew 13:17](/kjv/matthew/13/17), [Luke 2:26-32](/kjv/luke/2/26-32), [Luke 2:38](/kjv/luke/2/38), [Luke 10:23](/kjv/luke/10/23), [Luke 10:24](/kjv/luke/10/24), [1 Timothy 3:16](/kjv/1-timothy/3/16), [Hebrews 2:11](/kjv/hebrews/2/11), [Hebrews 2:12](/kjv/hebrews/2/12) **sucked:** [Isaiah 66:11](/kjv/isaiah/66/11), [Isaiah 66:12](/kjv/isaiah/66/12), [Galatians 4:26](/kjv/galatians/4/26) **find thee:** [John 1:14](/kjv/john/1/14), [John 3:13](/kjv/john/3/13), [John 8:42](/kjv/john/8/42), [John 13:3](/kjv/john/13/3), [John 16:28](/kjv/john/16/28), [Hebrews 2:9-14](/kjv/hebrews/2/9-14), [Hebrews 9:26-28](/kjv/hebrews/9/26-28) **I would:** [Song of Solomon 1:2](/kjv/song-of-solomon/1/2), [Psalms 2:12](/kjv/psalms/2/12), [Psalms 45:10](/kjv/psalms/45/10), [Psalms 45:11](/kjv/psalms/45/11), [Luke 7:45-48](/kjv/luke/7/45-48), [Luke 9:26](/kjv/luke/9/26), [Luke 12:8](/kjv/luke/12/8), [John 7:46-52](/kjv/john/7/46-52), [John 9:25-38](/kjv/john/9/25-38), [Galatians 6:14](/kjv/galatians/6/14), [Philippians 3:3](/kjv/philippians/3/3), [Philippians 3:7](/kjv/philippians/3/7), [Philippians 3:8](/kjv/philippians/3/8) **yea:** [Psalms 51:17](/kjv/psalms/51/17), [Psalms 102:16](/kjv/psalms/102/16), [Psalms 102:17](/kjv/psalms/102/17), [Mark 12:42-44](/kjv/mark/12/42-44), [Mark 14:6-9](/kjv/mark/14/6-9) **I should not be despised:** Heb. they should not despise me, [Isaiah 60:14](/kjv/isaiah/60/14), [Luke 10:16](/kjv/luke/10/16), [Luke 18:9](/kjv/luke/18/9), [1 Corinthians 1:28](/kjv/1-corinthians/1/28) **Reciprocal:** [Proverbs 7:4](/kjv/proverbs/7/4) - Thou [Song of Solomon 4:5](/kjv/song-of-solomon/4/5) - two breasts [Song of Solomon 5:1](/kjv/song-of-solomon/5/1) - my sister [Song of Solomon 8:5](/kjv/song-of-solomon/8/5) - there she ```json {"@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com","name":"Real Bible Believers","description":"RBB","publisher":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/search?q={search_term_string}","query-input":"required name=search_term_string"}],"inLanguage":"en-US"},{"@type":"ImageObject","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/song-of-solomon/8#primaryimage","inLanguage":"en-US","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","contentUrl":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/_app/immutable/assets/missing.C7wGMEZ6.jpg","width":672,"height":448,"caption":"Real Bible Believers"},{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/song-of-solomon/8#webpage","url":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/song-of-solomon/8","name":"Song of Solomon 8 - Study King James Bible with treasury of scripture knowledge","isPartOf":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#website"},"primaryImageOfPage":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/study/treasury-of-scripture-knowledge/song-of-solomon/8#primaryimage"},"author":{"@id":"https://realbiblebelievers.com/#/schema/person/e966585dde703268e7f6ae890ea98509"},"description":"Read Song of Solomon 8 with treasury of scripture knowledge commentary. 1 O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee;
