Ephesians 1:2-3: “Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

Why should we bless God? He deserves blessing, honor, and praise. He is the one that gave us the blessing to begin with, who gave us power when we needed it.

Now, the first part of verse 3 is important. It says, “The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Titus 2:13: “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

Here is an important rule of interpretation, “Hendiadys.” Hendiadys is a figure of speech that is used as a collective form that is referring to the one and same person. Sometimes it can be two titles for the same person. It is putting the great God and the Saviour Jesus Christ together.

Jehovah witnesses will say Titus 2:13 is about two separate beings. The evidence that Ephesians 1:3 is about the one and same person is: “blessed be the God and Father.”

If Jehovah witnesses disagree about Titus 2:13, “great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, “being the same person, show them Eph 1:3. If they say Titus 2:13 is about two separate beings since it says, “and”, then God and the Father in Eph 1:3 should also be two separate beings.

Continuing on verse 3, we see that we are blessed in heavenly places in Christ. This is a huge blessing. Right now, we have a reservation made up in heaven. That means we now have access to these spiritual blessings.

Ephesians 2:6 “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

Notice it is in the past tense; it says we already have a seat in heaven. One may say, “But I am here on earth.” The real “you” is the spiritual nature within. This spiritual nature is already in heaven. So, right now, you are tasting your spiritual blessings in heaven. If you are in Christ, you must know that the Holy Spirit can be everywhere. He is not bound inside your body and can be at many places at the same time. Your spirit is currently connected with the Holy Spirit in heaven.

This is one of the promises of salvation that a saved Christian receives upon being saved.
