Neo- Evangelicalism is the number one movement that has ruined America and contributed to Laodicean apostasy, not Catholicism, not Islam e.g. Joel Osteen, Rick Warren etc. Christian churches have fallen prey to this movement. Even Billy Graham became the world’s most beloved pastor because he started to compromise on the doctrine.

It simply means the church has adopted worldly practices inside the church and allowed myriads of modern different Bible versions, which meet all kinds of Christian denominations in order to build the church.

Contemporary Christian music (CCM) is wrong and is sinful

When we see lots of Christians attracted to mega-churches, it is usually because they have a good music program and even Christian artists with music majors.

Preachers are supposed to provide whole counsel of God without compromise, but we are in a day and age where the majority of Christians do not listen to the man of God preaching the word of God, but instead, they lust for worldly music programs like Hillsong, or celebrity pastors preaching wrong doctrines.

Bible believers will choose to condemn some genres of music played in most evangelical churches today, due to these few reasons.

What is backbeat? It exists in all music forms

Backbeat of contemporary popular music is rooted in rebellion; the hippie movement was rebelling against the older generation. It’s based on both historical and scientific facts. It is also considered not godly because of its Backbeat, upbeat or off-beat rhythm. The music satisfies the flesh. There is something about drums (creating the beats) that appeals to the flesh.

These music genres including soft rock, alternative rock music, new age music, pop, country, rap, swing, jazz, B-bop, disco, popular have been confirmed by Robert Kamien, a Fullbright scholar to be using rhythm beat that stresses off-beat notes, documented in his book ‘Music and Appreciation’ (pages 34, 365-395).

Wynton Marsalis explained how even though rock, R&B, jazz swing, and pop are different genres, but are related to each other because of the back-beat rhythm. It doesn’t matter if you listen to soft rock or jazz because back-beat rhythm is still present and is just a weaker form. It’s like saying I smoke little versus I smoke a lot.

What is the problem with backbeat rhythm?

It’s because it comes from Satanic origins, voodoo. Little Richard who is the famous creator of rock music claimed that backbeat music especially rock comes from African Voodoo. “A lot of the music today is taken from the voodoo drums” from Charles White’s book “The life of Little Richard”. It was brought to America by the African slaves. A lot of beats and music today are taken from the voodoo drums. This is all explained based on his experience from studying music and rhythms.

Jeff Godwin was a former rock musician who came to Christ and was shocked to see how the Churches are playing demonic music. He provided facts and footnotes of famous rock musicians who wanted to achieve rebellious rhythms and backbeats or even engaged themselves to Satanic masters in order to gain rhythmic freedom.

Mickey Hart, a drummer for the Grateful Dead quoted the following:

“When the slave ships began playing the waters between the new world in West Africa, everyone thought they carried just strong expendable bodies but they were also carrying the culture maybe even the mother goddess culture when they were shipped to America and they carried that music with them. Maybe even the mother goddess culture preserved in the form of drum rhythms that could call down the Orisha. In the Caribbean and South America, they were allowed to keep their drums and thus preserved their vital connection with the Orisha… Out of this, came jazz, the backbeat rhythm, and blues and rock and roll some of the most powerful rhythms on the planet.”

Rocky Dzidzornu was a percussionist whose works were documented by the Rolling Stones etc. Rocky’s father was a voodoo priest and the chief drummer of a village in Ghana, West Africa. Rocky asked Jimi where he got that voodoo rhythm from.

“The signature rhythms Jimi played on guitar was very often the same rhythms that his father played in voodoo ceremonies. The way Jimi danced to the rhythms of his playing reminded Rocky of the ceremonial dances to the rhythms his father played to Oxen the god of thunder and lightning. As a child in the village, Rocky would carve wooden representatives of gods who represented his ancestors. They were the gods they worshipped. They would jam a lot at Jimmy’s house. One time they were jamming and Jimi stopped and asked Rocky point blank, ‘you communicate with God?’ and Rocky said ‘Yes, I communicate with God.”

Contemporary music causes health issues

These health issues include aspects of mental, sexual, and rebelliousness. These 3 aspects are condemned by the Scripture. When we are saved Christians, we no longer have the right to listen to the types of church music we desire. Our bodies belong to God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Rebellion is connected to witchcraft.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Look how the scriptures condemn something that is earthly, sensual, and devilish.

James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

It is not something sexual, but it’s sensual, appealing to the flesh.

Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Case Study 1: Lowell Hart

In one of Lowell Hart’s documentation titled “Satan’s music exposed”, page 101 which he retrieved from actual research and experimentation which validated his findings. In 1978, a California music therapist investigated the effects of rock music on teenagers and concluded that as if it was a test given in mental institutions. It was an emotional stability test which he administered to 240 school children ages 10 to 18 in which rock music was being played. The result was examined by a psychologist without prior knowledge of whom it was administered, which also concluded that the test was carried out at a mental institution.

Case Study 2: Pennsylvania State College

They concluded from scientific experiments that participants listening to pop-rock have more memory disturbances. “The introduction of the effects of music have been documented in memory research leading many researchers to posit the existence of music-dependent memory. In many environments, music exists in the background and is generally thought to be soothing and pleasant. However, background music may also have an interfering effect and it can act as a distractor in people’s efforts to memorize and retrieve information. Further, different music genres may have different effects on memory. The present study examines the effects of different music genres on memory.

Conclusions. Though the hypothesis was not so, the results suggest that participants’ music preference affected the number of incorrect choices on the exam especially for pop-rock since most participants chose pop-rock as their favorite type of music. It could be that those participants in the group that listened to pop-rock were more easily distracted causing them to make a significantly higher number of incorrect choices.”

Case Study 3 – Lowell Hart

Another empirically validated research. Pop and Jazz music actually causes the opposite gender to stimulate lust. Retrieved from Lowell Hart’s book titled ‘Satan’s music exposed’ (page 63): “The unsuspecting guinea pigs were a teenage boy and girl who have never met, and acquainted in a cozy private room, with soft music playing in the background, and have their reactions recorded. When classical and soft ballad music was piped into the room, they talked and were friendly but somewhat aloof. But when pop music and jazz were played, they quickly developed a much ‘friendlier’ attitude and began to hold hands and put their arms around each other.”

Formality would give way to familiarity depending on the music played. That explains why modern churches’ Christians would practice and adopt a much more open and friendlier demeanor when singing contemporary worship songs.

Case study 4: Skubick, a neurologist

“The Neurophysiology of Rock.” They explained that backbeat music produces opioids in the body that brings sexual drive for some people. “When the beat generates high levels of sensory excitation due to the pace of the rhythm. When you’re listening to music …. maximal reception the brain is put in a state of stress. This state of stress is measurable in driving brainwave activity which occurs in all people. When highly stimulated subjective evaluation of the input such as whether one likes or dislikes the music, it is not a factor.

To force its activity levels down and to achieve homeostasis, the brain releases the body’s natural opioids. These opioids are naturally produced opiates chemically similar to drugs like morphine. They are used to control the body’s sensitivity to pain. Considerable evidence confirms that rock music generates or enhances sexual arousal… The body responds with the release of gonadotrophins as well as opioids. The result is a strong, strong connection forged between a stressed fight or flight state. A young person’s developing sexual drive then invariably links arousal to aggression.”

As Dr. Ruckman says, Hollywood is all about sex and violence.

As rock music has moved farther away from its historical roots, it expresses an increasing association of overt aggression linked to sexuality.

John Blanchard’s book titled ‘Pop goes the gospel rock in the church’, page 187-188.

Christians may not be overtly aware about this issue and may consider the Christian music business to be lucrative, or even support their favorite CCM artists or Christian bands such as Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, CeCE Winans, Bethel Music, Jesus People movement, and more.
