Mormons are very powerful in politics which Satan is going to use especially in the last days. Mormonism has three authorities:
The founder of Mormonism is Joseph Smith. There are a lot of commonalities between Muhammad and Joseph Smith.
How we can tackle Mormonism is by finding contradictions between the three authorities above. They use the KJV version along with the three authorities. Even the religion of Mormonism can contradict all of the above.
That’s why Mormons teach that you need to do good works in order to achieve godhood. Quote from “Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith” (page 345):
‘God Himself was once as we are. He is an exalted man and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. We have imagined that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea and take away the veil so that you may see.’
Let’s look at what the Bible says. God says that there was no god before or after Him.
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
God does not have a changed deity.
Quoted from the “Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith” (page 370):
Isaiah 44: 6,8 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
The Mormons think that the Bible is consistent with their 3 books, but it is not. Alma was taken from the Book of Mormon. The Bible says that Jesus is born in Bethlehem, not Jerusalem.
Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Alma 7:10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the cland of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.
The Bible says that God is a spirit and Jesus Himself said that a spirit does not have flesh and bones. This is a contradiction with the Mormon teaching that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Doctrines and Covenants chapter 130, verse 22: The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
The important thing to take note of is that Mormonism is full of contradictions by itself. Doctrines and Covenants say that God does not dwell in a man’s heart, but in Alma 34. it says that he dwells in the hearts of the righteous, consistent with Ephesians 3:17.
Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Doctrines and Covenants chapter 130, verse 22: John 14:23—The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.
Alma 34:36 And this I know, because the Lord hath said he dwelleth not in unholy temples, but in the hearts of the righteous doth he dwell; yea, and he has also said that the righteous shall sit down in his kingdom, to go no more out; but their garments should be made white through the blood of the Lamb.
The god of the Mormons is not God at all. At Jacob, it was an abomination, and then in Doctrines and Covenants, this “God” was the one who gave David all these wives.
Jacob 2:24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
Doctrines and Covenants 132:39 David’s wives and concubines were given unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the keys of this power; and in none of these things did he sin against me save in the case of Uriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath fallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I gave them unto another, saith the Lord.
Their belief in salvation by grace is different than what we teach – they say that God gives grace for saved people to do good works. This is Calvinist teaching and it’s wrong. It’s because they’re unable to reconcile the Bible where it says that you’re saved by faith or you’re saved by works. The solution is to rightly divide the verses to the right group of people and the time period that God is talking to. This is why it’s important to understand what dispensational salvation means.
2 Nephi 25:23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
Quotation from the LDS dictionary: This grace is an enabling power that allows men and women to lay hold on eternal life and exaltation after they have expended their own best efforts. Divine grace is needed by every soul in consequence of the fall of Adam and also because of man’s weaknesses and shortcomings. However, grace cannot suffice without total effort on the part of the recipient. Hence the explanation it is by grace that we are saved after all we can do.
This is what the Mormons believe in:
Romans 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.Romans 4:4-5 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Alma 34:33-35 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.
For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.
The Bible also does not support the baptism of the dead. Notice that Paul reasoned here that if people are not raised from the dead, then why bother baptizing them?
1 Corinthians 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
