Revelation 18:7 “How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.”

The Catholic system glorifies and takes pride in herself. How often do you hear the Catholic individuals saying ‘Go to the church, the mother church’ or ‘Come back to holy mother church’. Bible believers don’t do that, we say go to the Bible. They call us bibliolaters but these people are church building worshippers.

She enjoyed a delicious life from the riches and the souls that she was eating up.

That’s what God said, ‘Give her sorrow, give her torment’.

She said in her heart that she’s a queen.

She’s still a mother, giving birth to all these children around the world.

She doesn’t see sorrow because she’s so wealthy, living deliciously and she’s still the number one religion in the world.

This is definitely referring to Babylon, this cannot refer to Israel and this passage is proof that Israel is not a part of this Babylon system. It says she sits as a queen, which religion professes to have a queen in its religion? Roman Catholic church, they take Semiramis from Babylon, put a fake name on her as Virgin Mary and they say she’s the queen of heaven.

Isaiah 47:5 “Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.”

She’s connected to Babylon; Chaldeans. It’s not speaking to Israel.

Isaiah 47:1 “Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.”

‘virgin daughter of Babylon’: It’s Babylon, not Israel. Interestingly it says ‘virgin’, what religion professes to have a virgin in it? This screams Roman Catholics so many times.

Isaiah 47:7-8 “And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it. Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:”

Notice the wordings here are very similar to Revelation 18.
‘latter end’: this is the tribulation timeline.
The content here is not the nation of Israel, God was speaking to Babylon, the Chaldeans. We see here that this is more prophetic, it’s a future timeline in the tribulation.

Revelation 18:8 “Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.”

God sends all the plagues upon Babylon. Notice that it says ‘in one day’, that’s the question. When God is sending the judgment upon Babylon, we don’t know exactly how long it will be. Even though the verse says ‘one day’ but if you keep reading Revelation 18, it mentions about one hour at verse 17. In Revelation 17, there was the wording about ‘one hour’ in verse 12.

Undoubtedly, Revelation goes by a biblical timeline. There are a lot of different examples, in previous Revelation chapters, He mentions a time and half a time.

In Daniel 9, it mentions about 79 weeks but that last week would be 7 years. When God talks about a clock in prophecy, you have to be careful not to take it literally as 24 hours in a day. Here, what it looks like is a biblical clock, not a literal 24/7. We don’t know how long that is but we do know that this is definitely a short time. If God says one day and one hour, that’s a short time period.

So all in this one day, the Lord is going to send forth the plagues and judgments all at once.

This shows also, by context of the same verse, it makes you wonder if it’s really one day. It’s not really famine when you skip two meals.

Whatever this length of time is, she is getting death, mourning, and famine. Notice that this death and famine matches with the seals that were opened up at Revelation 6 so it makes you wonder if this is at the latter timeline of the tribulation.

Undoubtedly the seals were early in the tribulation because after the third (famine) and fourth (death) seals, the fifth seal is where the martyrs were being killed and this is way after the martyrs. So God considers this not as a seal judgment but a vial judgment. The vials judgments were horrible but God is doing all this to Babylon in addition to the vials because of verse 6: ‘double unto her’. Maybe this means double the seal judgment.

She’s getting judged with fire here, the Lord is burning her up.

God is strong when He’s judging her, so if He doubles the damnation, that’s something big.

It makes a lot of sense in Matthew 23 where those Pharisees imitate the Babylon system, like those guys in long robes being called father, God said to them greater damnation and that they are too full, more of the child of hell.

That’s why God said in verse 4 ‘come out of her’ so that you don’t partake in the plagues.

Revelation 18:9 “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,”

This is a spiritual application, not literal. Different nations and kings around the world combine their bodies of the nations with her, fornicate and they share the riches with her, they live deliciously together. This is undoubted because if you look at how the Catholic church is involved in all sorts of businesses, that religion is inescapable in nearly every business and politics around the world.

Of course, they’re going to wail and cry for her. The whole world would mourn if the pope were to get shot today, the whole world would put it down on the front page of news.

When they see the smoke coming out while she’s burning, they’re going to wail and be in tears.

Revelation 18:10 “Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.”

When God sends the judgment, they’re all going to be far away, looking at the judgment and her burning.

That’s an old English wording, it’s like a metaphorical expression such as ‘Oh!’. It repeats twice because that’s normal for English metaphorical phrasing.

Babylon is a great and mighty city.

It says in one hour that the judgment comes, however long that really is.

Revelation 18:11 “And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:”

All businesses and partners around the world are going to be weeping and wailing when she burns up.

These business owners won’t be able to have business dealings that are connected to the Vatican or Rome.

The Roman Catholic church is going to rule over all the world during the timeline of the tribulation and that’s the Antichrist’s religion and system. The Antichrist’s tactic is to focus on the nation of Israel as the enemy, they want people to think that Babylon is the city of Jerusalem, Israel, and then to hide the mother, Roman Catholic church.

That’s why she’s known as a mystery. That’s why the Antichrist is known as the mystery of iniquity because you have to hide them. What better way to hide them than to replace them with God’s nation, that’s why the Antichrist is going to blame the Jews and turn against the nation of Israel.
