It’s interesting where you see certain movies or conspiracy documentation where there’s a small group, the 1% who want the world to end and they have their own safe little haven while the world’s being killed by disease or famine or demonic creatures coming out. If there are a good amount of Jewish elites involved, they would want to be part of these elites who makes the covenant where the common people could die out from these four horsemen while they’re safe.

Isaiah 28:15 “Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:”

Here, God speaks to Israel. This is a prophecy in the tribulation. Daniel 9:27 says they make a covenant with the Antichrist, when they make the covenant, they also make a covenant with death and hell. It’s as if they are being protected, they have to make a covenant to have their safe haven.

In verse 15b – if you look at past history of elites, they always make crooked deception and deals. Dr Ruckman calls this ‘overflowing scourge’ to be the ‘infamous shadow of death’ that can trod you down.

Isaiah 28:18 “And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.”

The covenants are broken and the overflowing scourge trods them down.

If you look up ‘shadow of death; in the Bible, you’d notice that it could mean 2 things:
1. a metaphorical phrase as if you’re on the verge of death

Psalms 23:4 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

King David is saying that when he does through this valley of the shadow of death, he’ll still be protected by God’s rod and staff as if he’s on the edge of death.

2. a literal creation, as literal as the sun, night, day and scientific element.

Amos 5:8 “Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:”

All these things stated here are literal things: the stars, morning, day, night, water, face of the earth. The Bible shows right here that the shadow of death is a literal entity.

Dr Ruckman mentions in one of his commentaries that the black shadow of death is trying to engulf the children of Israel.

Psalms 23 may be something more prophetic than devotional, it could be a prophecy tribulation to Israel because Isaiah says the overflowing scourge is going to come upon Israel and wipe them out.

But the book of Micah says God will have His people flee into the wilderness.

Revelation 12 says that God is going to feed His people in the wilderness.

The last book of Micah says ‘feed thy people as you have fed them in the days of old with Moses at the wilderness’: which is manna, and it says feed them with thy rod.

Psalms 23 says ‘though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death … thy rod and thy staff they comfort me’.

Psalms 23:5 also says ‘Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies….’
