Revelation 9:20-21 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
In the past few commentaries of Revelation 9, we were given insight into the events that will befall humanity during the time of the Tribulation.
‘And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues‘
In spite of all the casualties and chaos occurring (a quarter of the world’s population dies followed by a third of the population dies), we find out that there was no repentance.
‘yet repented not of the works of their hands,‘
The remaining people do not repent of what was made by their hands (technology, knowledge leading to vainglory, etc.).The work of their hands became their idol. They put something at a higher elevation than themselves, so that’s idolatry.
‘that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood:‘
Look what America and the world have made with their hands. Science is the god of their creation. The work of their hands is what they spend time on.
Worship in this context is a type of reverence or exalting something or someone more than God. Where are we spending our time? Mostly technology, right? Instead of having a family circle on prayer, we have a family circle on technology and a screen.
‘which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:‘
These idols are not being able to see, hear, nor walk which we see in many of the things revered today (our phones, TVs, education, our government, science, logic, technology etc.). The modern world today trust in science and technology so much; these things that cannot see, hear, nor walk with you.
‘Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.‘
Please get the message! But people still don’t repent of their murders (killing of believers, both Christian and tribulation saints, abortions, etc.), sorceries (pharmaceutical company dealings and magic in Harry Potter books), fornication (sexual perversion, homosexuality, pre-marital sex), and theft (tax money used for evil agenda, the disparity between rich and poor, crooked pastors who use Jesus’ name to get love offering, Roman Catholic, etc.). These are all WICKED!
Do not give up on these people. We all used to be wicked too, but someone prayed for us. Someone witnessed to us.
