against me without a cause

חִנָּֽם׃

 

תַּֽחַת

For my love

אַהֲבָתִ֥י

they are my adversaries

יִשְׂטְנ֗וּנִי

 

וַאֲנִ֥י

but I give myself unto prayer

תְפִלָּֽה׃

And they have rewarded

וַיָּ֘שִׂ֤ימוּ

 

עָלַ֣י

me evil

רָ֭עָה

 

תַּ֣חַת

for good

טוֹבָ֑ה

and hatred

וְ֝שִׂנְאָ֗ה

 

תַּ֣חַת

for my love

אַהֲבָתִֽי׃

Set

הַפְקֵ֣ד

 

עָלָ֣יו

thou a wicked man

רָשָׁ֑ע

over him and let Satan

וְ֝שָׂטָ֗ן

stand

יַעֲמֹ֥ד

 

עַל

at his right hand

יְמִינֽוֹ׃

When he shall be judged

בְּ֭הִשָּׁ֣פְטוֹ

let him be

יֵצֵ֣א

condemned

רָשָׁ֑ע

and let his prayer

וּ֝תְפִלָּת֗וֹ

 

תִּהְיֶ֥ה

become sin

לַֽחֲטָאָֽה׃

 

יִֽהְיֽוּ

Let his days

יָמָ֥יו

be few

מְעַטִּ֑ים

his office

פְּ֝קֻדָּת֗וֹ

take

יִקַּ֥ח

and let another

אַחֵֽר׃

 

יִֽהְיוּ

Let his children

בָנָ֥יו

be fatherless

יְתוֹמִ֑ים

and his wife

וְ֝אִשְׁתּוֹ

a widow

אַלְמָנָֽה׃

be continually

יָנ֣וּעוּ

be continually

Let his children

בָנָ֣יו

and beg

וְשִׁאֵ֑לוּ

let them seek

וְ֝דָרְשׁ֗וּ

their bread also out of their desolate places

מֵחָרְבוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃

Let the extortioner

Let there be none to extend

מֹשֵׁ֣ךְ

mercy

unto him neither let there be any to favour

ח֝וֹנֵ֗ן

his fatherless children

לִיתוֹמָֽיו׃

 

יְהִֽי

Let his posterity

אַחֲרִית֥וֹ

be cut off

לְהַכְרִ֑ית

and in the generation

בְּד֥וֹר

following

אַ֝חֵ֗ר

be blotted out

יִמַּ֥ח

let their name

שְׁמָֽם׃

be remembered

יִזָּכֵ֤ר׀

Let the iniquity

עֲוֹ֣ן

of his fathers

אֲ֭בֹתָיו

 

אֶל

with the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

and let not the sin

וְחַטַּ֥את

of his mother

אִ֝מּ֗וֹ

 

אַל

be blotted out

תִּמָּֽח׃

 

יִהְי֣וּ

 

נֶֽגֶד

Let them be before the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

continually

תָּמִ֑יד

that he may cut off

וְיַכְרֵ֖ת

of them from the earth

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

the memory

זִכְרָֽם׃

 

יַ֗עַן

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר׀

 

לֹ֥א

Because that he remembered

זָכַר֮

not to shew

עֲשׂ֪וֹת

mercy

חָ֥סֶד

but persecuted

וַיִּרְדֹּ֡ף

man

אִישׁ

the poor

עָנִ֣י

and needy

וְ֭אֶבְיוֹן

the broken

וְנִכְאֵ֨ה

in heart

לֵבָ֬ב

that he might even slay

לְמוֹתֵֽת׃

As he loved

וַיֶּאֱהַ֣ב

cursing

קְ֭לָלָה

so let it come

וַתְּבוֹאֵ֑הוּ

 

וְֽלֹא

unto him as he delighted

חָפֵ֥ץ

not in blessing

בִּ֝בְרָכָ֗ה

so let it be far

וַתִּרְחַ֥ק

 

מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

As he clothed

וַיִּלְבַּ֥שׁ

himself with cursing

קְלָלָ֗ה

like as with his garment

כְּמַ֫דּ֥וֹ

so let it come

וַתָּבֹ֣א

like water

כַמַּ֣יִם

into his bowels

בְּקִרְבּ֑וֹ

and like oil

וְ֝כַשֶּׁ֗מֶן

into his bones

בְּעַצְמוֹתָֽיו׃

 

תְּהִי

 

ל֭וֹ

Let it be unto him as the garment

כְּבֶ֣גֶד

which covereth

יַעְטֶ֑ה

him and for a girdle

וּ֝לְמֵ֗זַח

continually

תָּמִ֥יד

wherewith he is girded

יַחְגְּרֶֽהָ׃

 

זֹ֤את

Let this be the reward

פְּעֻלַּ֣ת

of mine adversaries

שֹׂ֭טְנַי

 

מֵאֵ֣ת

from the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

and of them that speak

וְהַדֹּבְרִ֥ים

evil

רָ֝֗ע

 

עַל

against my soul

נַפְשִֽׁי׃

 

וְאַתָּ֤ה׀

thou for me O GOD

יְה֘וִ֤ה

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֗י

But do

עֲֽשֵׂה

 

אִ֭תִּי

 

לְמַ֣עַן

for thy name's

שְׁמֶ֑ךָ

 

כִּי

is good

ט֥וֹב

sake because thy mercy

חַ֝סְדְּךָ֗

deliver

הַצִּילֵֽנִי׃

 

כִּֽי

For I am poor

עָנִ֣י

and needy

וְאֶבְי֣וֹן

 

אָנֹ֑כִי

and my heart

וְ֝לִבִּ֗י

is wounded

חָלַ֥ל

within

בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃

like the shadow

כְּצֵל

when it declineth

כִּנְטוֹת֥וֹ

I am gone

נֶהֱלָ֑כְתִּי

I am tossed up and down

נִ֝נְעַ֗רְתִּי

as the locust

כָּֽאַרְבֶּֽה׃

My knees

בִּ֭רְכַּי

are weak

כָּשְׁל֣וּ

through fasting

מִצּ֑וֹם

and my flesh

וּ֝בְשָׂרִ֗י

faileth

כָּחַ֥שׁ

of fatness

מִשָּֽׁמֶן׃

 

וַאֲנִ֤י׀

 

הָיִ֣יתִי

I became also a reproach

חֶרְפָּ֣ה

 

לָהֶ֑ם

unto them when they looked

יִ֝רְא֗וּנִי

upon me they shaked

יְנִיע֥וּן

their heads

רֹאשָֽׁם׃

Help

עָ֭זְרֵנִי

me O LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

my God

אֱלֹהָ֑י

O save

ה֭וֹשִׁיעֵ֣נִי

me according to thy mercy

כְחַסְדֶּֽךָ׃

That they may know

וְֽ֭יֵדְעוּ

 

כִּי

that this is thy hand

יָ֣דְךָ

 

זֹּ֑את

 

אַתָּ֖ה

that thou LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

hast done

עֲשִׂיתָֽהּ׃

Let them curse

יְקַֽלְלוּ

 

הֵמָּה֮

 

וְאַתָּ֪ה

but bless

תְבָ֫רֵ֥ךְ

thou when they arise

קָ֤מוּ׀

let them be ashamed

וַיֵּבֹ֗שׁוּ

but let thy servant

וְֽעַבְדְּךָ֥

rejoice

יִשְׂמָֽח׃

be clothed

יִלְבְּשׁ֣וּ

Let mine adversaries

שׂוֹטְנַ֣י

with shame

כְּלִמָּ֑ה

and let them cover

וְיַעֲט֖וּ

as with a mantle

כַמְעִ֣יל

themselves with their own confusion

בָּשְׁתָּֽם׃

praise

א֘וֹדֶ֤ה

the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

I will greatly

מְאֹ֣ד

with my mouth

בְּפִ֑י

him among

וּבְת֖וֹךְ

the multitude

רַבִּ֣ים

yea I will praise

אֲהַֽלְלֶֽנּוּ׃

 

כִּֽי

For he shall stand

יַ֭עֲמֹד

at the right hand

לִימִ֣ין

of the poor

אֶבְי֑וֹן

to save

לְ֝הוֹשִׁ֗יעַ

him from those that condemn

מִשֹּׁפְטֵ֥י

his soul

נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃
