to my prayer

תְּפִלָּתִ֑י

 

וְאַל

and hide

תִּ֝תְעַלַּ֗ם

not thyself from my supplication

מִתְּחִנָּתִֽי׃

Attend

הַקְשִׁ֣יבָה

 

לִּ֣י

unto me and hear

וַעֲנֵ֑נִי

me I mourn

in my complaint

בְּשִׂיחִ֣י

and make a noise

וְאָהִֽימָה׃

Because of the voice

מִקּ֤וֹל

of the enemy

כִּי

for they cast

יָמִ֥יטוּ

 

עָלַ֥י

iniquity

אָ֝֗וֶן

upon me and in wrath

וּבְאַ֥ף

they hate

יִשְׂטְמֽוּנִי׃

My heart

לִ֭בִּי

is sore pained

יָחִ֣יל

within

בְּקִרְבִּ֑י

me and the terrors

וְאֵימ֥וֹת

of death

מָ֝֗וֶת

are fallen

נָפְל֥וּ

 

עָלָֽי׃

Fearfulness

יִרְאָ֣ה

and trembling

וָ֭רַעַד

are come

יָ֣בֹא

 

בִ֑י

hath overwhelmed

וַ֝תְּכַסֵּ֗נִי

upon me and horror

פַּלָּצֽוּת׃

And I said

וָאֹמַ֗ר

Oh that

יִתֶּן

 

לִּ֣י

I had wings

אֵ֭בֶר

like a dove

כַּיּוֹנָ֗ה

for then would I fly away

אָע֥וּפָה

and be at rest

וְאֶשְׁכֹּֽנָה׃

 

הִ֭נֵּה

far off

אַרְחִ֣יק

Lo then would I wander

נְדֹ֑ד

and remain

אָלִ֖ין

in the wilderness

בַּמִּדְבָּ֣ר

סֶֽלָה׃

I would hasten

אָחִ֣ישָׁה

my escape

מִפְלָ֣ט

 

לִ֑י

from the windy

מֵר֖וּחַ

storm

סֹעָ֣ה

and tempest

מִסָּֽעַר׃

Destroy

בַּלַּ֣ע

O Lord

אֲ֭דֹנָי

and divide

פַּלַּ֣ג

their tongues

לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם

 

כִּֽי

for I have seen

רָאִ֨יתִי

violence

חָמָ֖ס

and strife

וְרִ֣יב

in the city

בָּעִֽיר׃

Day

יוֹמָ֤ם

and night

וָלַ֗יְלָה

they go about

יְסוֹבְבֻ֥הָ

 

עַל

it upon the walls

חוֹמֹתֶ֑יהָ

thereof mischief

וְאָ֖וֶן

also and sorrow

וְעָמָ֣ל

are in the midst

בְּקִרְבָּֽהּ׃

Wickedness

הַוּ֥וֹת

is in the midst

בְּקִרְבָּ֑הּ

 

וְֽלֹא

depart

יָמִ֥ישׁ

not from her streets

מֵ֝רְחֹבָ֗הּ

thereof deceit

תֹּ֣ךְ

and guile

וּמִרְמָֽה׃

 

כִּ֤י

 

לֹֽא

For it was not an enemy

אוֹיֵ֥ב

that reproached

יְחָֽרְפֵ֗נִי

me then I could have borne

וְאֶ֫שָּׂ֥א

 

לֹֽא

it neither was it he that hated

מְ֭שַׂנְאִי

 

עָלַ֣י

me that did magnify

הִגְדִּ֑יל

himself against me then I would have hid

וְאֶסָּתֵ֥ר

 

מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

 

וְאַתָּ֣ה

But it was thou a man

אֱנ֣וֹשׁ

mine equal

כְּעֶרְכִּ֑י

my guide

אַ֝לּוּפִ֗י

and mine acquaintance

וּמְיֻדָּֽעִי׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

together

יַ֭חְדָּו

We took sweet

נַמְתִּ֣יק

counsel

ס֑וֹד

unto the house

בְּבֵ֥ית

of God

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

and walked

נְהַלֵּ֥ךְ

in company

בְּרָֽגֶשׁ׃

seize

יַשִּׁ֤ימָ֨וֶת׀

 

עָלֵ֗ימוֹ

upon them and let them go down

יֵרְד֣וּ

into hell

שְׁא֣וֹל

quick

חַיִּ֑ים

 

כִּֽי

for wickedness

רָע֖וֹת

is in their dwellings

בִּמְגוּרָ֣ם

and among

בְּקִרְבָּֽם׃

 

אֲ֭נִי

 

אֶל

upon God

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

As for me I will call

אֶקְרָ֑א

and the LORD

וַ֝יהוָ֗ה

shall save

יוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃

Evening

עֶ֤רֶב

and morning

וָבֹ֣קֶר

and at noon

וְ֭צָהֳרַיִם

will I pray

אָשִׂ֣יחָה

and cry aloud

וְאֶהֱמֶ֑ה

and he shall hear

וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע

my voice

קוֹלִֽי׃

He hath delivered

פָּ֘דָ֤ה

in peace

בְשָׁל֣וֹם

my soul

נַ֭פְשִׁי

from the battle

מִקֲּרָב

 

לִ֑י

 

כִּֽי

that was against me for there were many

בְ֝רַבִּ֗ים

 

הָי֥וּ

 

עִמָּדִֽי׃

shall hear

יִשְׁמַ֤ע׀

God

אֵ֨ל׀

 

וְֽיַעֲנֵם֮

them even he that abideth

וְיֹ֤שֵׁ֥ב

of old

קֶ֗דֶם

Selah

סֶ֥לָה

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

אֵ֣ין

Because they have no changes

חֲלִיפ֣וֹת

 

לָ֑מוֹ

 

וְלֹ֖א

therefore they fear

יָרְא֣וּ

not God

אֱלֹהִֽים׃

He hath put forth

שָׁלַ֣ח

his hands

יָ֭דָיו

against such as be at peace

בִּשְׁלֹמָ֗יו

with him he hath broken

חִלֵּ֥ל

his covenant

בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃

were smoother

חָלְק֤וּ׀

than butter

מַחְמָאֹ֣ת

The words of his mouth

פִּיו֮

but war

וּֽקֲרָב

was in his heart

לִ֫בּ֥וֹ

were softer

רַכּ֖וּ

his words

דְבָרָ֥יו

than oil

מִשֶּׁ֗מֶן

 

וְהֵ֣מָּה

yet were they drawn swords

פְתִחֽוֹת׃

Cast

הַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ

 

עַל

upon the LORD

יְהוָ֨ה׀

thy burden

יְהָבְךָ֮

 

וְה֪וּא

and he shall sustain

יְכַ֫לְכְּלֶ֥ךָ

 

לֹא

suffer

יִתֵּ֖ן

thee he shall never

לְעוֹלָ֥ם

to be moved

מ֗וֹט

the righteous

לַצַּדִּֽיק׃

 

וְאַתָּ֤ה

But thou O God

אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀

shalt bring them down

תּוֹרִדֵ֬ם׀

into the pit

לִבְאֵ֬ר

of destruction

שַׁ֗חַת

men

אַנְשֵׁ֤י

bloody

דָמִ֣ים

and deceitful

וּ֭מִרְמָה

 

לֹא

shall not live out half

יֶחֱצ֣וּ

their days

יְמֵיהֶ֑ם

 

וַ֝אֲנִ֗י

but I will trust

אֶבְטַח

 

בָּֽךְ׃
