1
Sing aloud
הַ֭רְנִינוּ
unto God
לֵאלֹהֵ֥י
our strength
עוּזֵּ֑נוּ
make a joyful noise
הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ
unto God
לֵאלֹהֵ֥י
of Jacob
יַעֲקֹֽב׃
2
Take
שְֽׂאוּ
a psalm
זִ֭מְרָה
and bring
וּתְנוּ
hither the timbrel
תֹ֑ף
harp
כִּנּ֖וֹר
the pleasant
נָעִ֣ים

עִם
with the psaltery
נָֽבֶל׃
3
Blow up
תִּקְע֣וּ
in the new moon
בַחֹ֣דֶשׁ
the trumpet
שׁוֹפָ֑ר
in the time appointed
בַּ֝כֵּ֗סֶה
day
לְי֣וֹם
on our solemn feast
חַגֵּֽנוּ׃
4

כִּ֤י
For this was a statute
חֹ֣ק
for Israel
לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל

ה֑וּא
and a law
מִ֝שְׁפָּ֗ט
of the God
לֵאלֹהֵ֥י
of Jacob
יַעֲקֹֽב׃
5
for a testimony
עֵ֤דוּת׀
in Joseph
בִּֽיה֘וֹסֵ֤ף
This he ordained
שָׂמ֗וֹ
when he went out
בְּ֭צֵאתוֹ

עַל
through the land
אֶ֣רֶץ
of Egypt
מִצְרָ֑יִם
a language
שְׂפַ֖ת

לֹא
that I understood
יָדַ֣עְתִּי
where I heard
אֶשְׁמָֽע׃
6
I removed
הֲסִיר֣וֹתִי
from the burden
מִסֵּ֣בֶל
his shoulder
שִׁכְמ֑וֹ
his hands
כַּ֝פָּ֗יו
from the pots
מִדּ֥וּד
were delivered
תַּעֲבֹֽרְנָה׃
7
in trouble
בַּצָּרָ֥ה
Thou calledst
קָרָ֗אתָ
and I delivered
וָאֲחַ֫לְּצֶ֥ךָּ
thee I answered
אֶ֭עֶנְךָ
thee in the secret place
בְּסֵ֣תֶר
of thunder
רַ֑עַם
I proved
אֶבְחָֽנְךָ֙

עַל
thee at the waters
מֵ֖י
of Meribah
מְרִיבָ֣ה
Selah
סֶֽלָה׃
8
Hear
תִּֽשְׁמַֽע
O my people
עַ֭מִּי
and I will testify
וְאָעִ֣ידָה

בָּ֑ךְ
unto thee O Israel
יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל

אִם
Hear
תִּֽשְׁמַֽע

לִֽי׃
9

לֹֽא

יִהְיֶ֣ה

בְ֭ךָ
god
לְאֵ֣ל
There shall no strange
זָ֑ר

וְלֹ֥א
be in thee neither shalt thou worship
תִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה
god
לְאֵ֣ל
any strange
נֵכָֽר׃
10

אָנֹכִ֨י׀
I am the LORD
יְה֘וָ֤ה
thy God
אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ
which brought
הַֽ֭מַּעַלְךָ
thee out of the land
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ
of Egypt
מִצְרָ֑יִם
wide
הַרְחֶב
open thy mouth
פִּ֝֗יךָ
and I will fill
וַאֲמַלְאֵֽהוּ׃
11

וְלֹא
would not hearken
שָׁמַ֣ע
But my people
עַמִּ֣י
to my voice
לְקוֹלִ֑י
and Israel
וְ֝יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

לֹא
would
אָ֥בָה

לִֽי׃
12
So I gave them up
וָֽ֭אֲשַׁלְּחֵהוּ
lust
בִּשְׁרִיר֣וּת
unto their own hearts
לִבָּ֑ם

יֵ֝לְכ֗וּ
in their own counsels
בְּֽמוֹעֲצוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
13
Oh
ל֗וּ
that my people
עַ֭מִּי
had hearkened
שֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ

לִ֑י
unto me and Israel
יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל
in my ways
בִּדְרָכַ֥י
had walked
יְהַלֵּֽכוּ׃
14
I should soon
כִּ֭מְעַט
their enemies
אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֣ם
have subdued
אַכְנִ֑יעַ

וְעַ֥ל
against their adversaries
צָ֝רֵיהֶ֗ם
and turned
אָשִׁ֥יב
my hand
יָדִֽי׃
15
The haters
מְשַׂנְאֵ֣י
of the LORD
יְ֭הוָה
should have submitted
יְכַֽחֲשׁוּ

ל֑וֹ

וִיהִ֖י
themselves unto him but their time
עִתָּ֣ם
should have endured for ever
לְעוֹלָֽם׃
16
He should have fed
וַֽ֭יַּאֲכִילֵהוּ
them also with the finest
מֵחֵ֣לֶב
of the wheat
חִטָּ֑ה
out of the rock
וּ֝מִצּ֗וּר
and with honey
דְּבַ֣שׁ
should I have satisfied
אַשְׂבִּיעֶֽךָ׃
