Revelation 4:6 “And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.”
There is the sea of glass here, but the second part of verse 6 is about the four beasts full of eyes.
Revelation 4:7 “And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.”
Here, there are beasts with each a face of a lion, man, eagle, and calf.
Ezekiel 1 holds all the answers to identify the identity of these beasts.
Ezekiel 1:5: “Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.”
Remember the four beasts in Revelation 4.
Ezekiel 1:6-10: “And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.”
This is no doubt the same four creatures who are surrounding the throne up in heaven, which is above the firmament.
Ezekiel 1:22: “And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.”
This is the sea of glass right here. Notice that it mentions that this is above the firmament.
Ezekiel 1:23: “And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.”
Ezekiel 1:25 “And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.”
Remember John said that there was a voice out of the throne. Ezekiel’s down on earth and he said that there’s a voice coming out there. There is no doubt, this is the same thing.
Ezekiel 1:26: “And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.”
Ezekiel 1:28 “As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.”
The appearance of the bow matches with Revelation 4:3. There is a rainbow round about the throne. These are all the same things that both Ezekiel and John saw.
Some atheists are going to use Revelation 4 and Ezekiel 1 to show a contradiction.
Revelation 4:8: “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
Each of these cherubims have six wings here.
Ezekiel 1:6: “And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.”
Ezekiel 1:11: “Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.”
So Revelation says that the cherubims have six wings. Revelations say face of a lion, eagle, man, and calf. But then Ezekiel said four faces which comprised of these. The answer to this is simple. John was looking at one side of their faces because you’ll notice in Ezekiel 1:10-12:
Ezekiel 1:10-12: “As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.”
You’ll notice right here that their four faces were like two by two, one on the right and one on the left. So John was only looking at one side of their four faces. Obviously, each face had to have its side. That’s the reason why John saw one of the faces.
But here’s another thing, in Ezekiel 1:11, there are the four wings but two wings were joined, the one covering the body is the separate one. What did John see? John saw all six. What did Ezekiel see? Ezekiel saw six, but he put it as four because two were combined and considered as one.
Here’s another interesting thing to look at:
Ezekial 10:14: “And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.”
Notice what the Bible says concerning these four cherubims again. It says ‘cherub’ here, not ox. God considers the ox as the same word as a cherub.
Now, who is literally called a cherub?
Ezekiel 28:13: “Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.”
That’s Satan.
Ezekiel 28:14 “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.”
Satan is known as the ox right here.
Revelation 4 mentions four cherubs. These were not fallen. They’re surrounding the throne. They’re holy. But there had to be a cherub that was at a fallen state. Why?
Read Ezekiel 28:14 again: “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth;”. He was a covering. The other four cherubs surrounded God on four sides, but a covering is like a lid, placed on top. No wonder he thought he could be higher than God.
Here’s another interesting thing concerning the five cherubims. You’ll notice they cover all classes of creation: it covers the wild animals, lion. It covers the domestic animals, calf. It covers the humans, man. It covers the birds, eagle.
There is a missing class of creature right here, it is aquatic reptilian. Doesn’t that sound similar with the UFO, alien conspiracies that you hear? Aquatic reptilian, or as scientists like to call it amphibians. But scientists are behind the Bible. They see it as evolution where it’s closely related between fish, amphibian, and reptile. They think there’s a close relationship here because they see so much similarity scientifically speaking. It’s not a proof of evolution, it’s a proof of the similarity of a class God puts them in His creation. Scientists have their own classification system, but the scriptures have their own classification system right here. You’ll notice that Lucifer covers the aquatic reptilian here. Let’s read Isaiah 27:1 to see if this qualifies as some kind of fish-reptile.
Isaiah 27:1: “In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.”
It covered those classes of animals. God considers it as one right here. Notice that this is all about the devil. That is no dinosaur. ‘That say the Lord shall send a sword to punish that poor little dinosaur’, that does not make sense.
The sad thing about creationists is that they are afraid to study that book. They don’t want to go deep into the Bible. They delve deep into science but not the word of God. Bible-believing Christians have to delve into the word of God first, then science. Scientists thought that there was a relationship between fish, reptiles, and amphibians, that they evolved from each other. No, it’s because they were by the same creator, that’s why God considers it as one class.
That’s why scientists cannot believe in a Genesis gap. They cannot believe in this firmament about the waters dividing. Because they don’t want to read the verse as it says. But if one reads the verse as it says, they’d be amazed, and it makes so much more sense why the word says it precisely that way.
