Pastor Kim doesn’t think that anyone can give a picture perfect description of the cherubims of Ezekiel 1.

Ezekiel 1:5: “Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.”

Ezekiel made sure to mention likeness because even himself when he sees it, he can’t describe it as precise as he can. Paul even mentioned in Corinthians that even though he saw it all, he can’t even say it and he’s not even allowed to say some things. John said in John 21 that if he were to write everything, there would be so many books to write about it. Daniel, when he actually saw the visions and the beasts, said that it was too much for him; he even had trouble understanding. That’s the reason why at the beginning Dr. Gene Kim was saying that no one can give a perfect, precise description of them, even if you see it 100%.

Ezekiel 1:6: “And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.”

Notice right here their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. That’s key. It didn’t say face; it said likeness. So we know then it’s going to look like a typical person, so to speak. But within this likeness of a man, there’s going to be a difference right here.

Ezekiel 1:7: “And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.”

Their feet were straight feet, and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot, so to speak. That’s why Satan, who is known to be a cherub as well, in cartoon drawings is given a cleft foot. Now it said, “sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.”

Revelation 1:15: “And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”

This person that came out is actually our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And His feet were like unto fine brass, glowing.

Ezekiel 1:8: “And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.”

Ezekiel 1:9: “Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.”

We see right here in verse 8 that they had the hands of a man under their wings. Have you ever noticed certain birds when they fly or certain creatures in mythical drawings, they’ll put a picture of some kind of hand underneath the wing? The Bible was way ahead of you. Batman with his wings going out like that—Ezekiel 1 already told you something like that a long time ago.

They had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides. It looked like they had four sides because at verse 6 they had four faces. These creatures have four sides to them: one north, south, east, and west. A lot of people think that the number four could be the biblical number of north, south, east, and west.

Verse 9 says their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

Ezekiel 1:10: “As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.”

In verse 10, the face of a man doesn’t mention the direction, and the lion is on the right side. So the lion is noticed to be on the right side, and the man. What is on the left? The face of an ox on the left side. This is just a separate teaching, but remember Dr. Gene Kim talked about Satan being the ox? It shows that he’s never on the right, so we see the ox on the left.

Now it could mean then that the ox is on the left, the lion is on the right, and then the man and the eagle are front and back. Or it could be like a diagonal layout where the face of a man and lion are on the right, and the ox and eagle are on the left. Let’s say for now that the eagle is at the back. Now, that is some creature right there!

Let’s keep reading:

Ezekiel 1:11: “Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.”

They had two wings that covered their bodies, and two wings of every one were joined one to another. Now how many wings they had in total—Dr. Gene Kim is trying to do this from memory, Dr. Gene Kim thinks it’s six in total. So two wings were joined, two covered their bodies, and they had wings on their four sides as well.

If Dr. Gene Kim is recalling from memory, they mention wings that cover the legs right here, and there were wings with a miniature wing underneath a bigger wing. That’s why their wings were joined one to another, and you have the hand of a man sticking out. Now that is some creature! No wonder when Mary saw the angel Gabriel and he said “fear not,” she probably went “Ah!” If it was a cherub, she’d freak out even more.

Now the question is, why would they have wings that cover the feet?

Revelation 4:7: “And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.”

Revelation 4:8: “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”

Concerning these cherubim, these creatures were full of eyes within and without; they had eyes everywhere. Remember, God sees everything. These creatures are getting God’s power, so they get eyes everywhere covering all four directions. That’s why if you think Satan is some kind of little creature you can mess with, you only have two eyes; this demonic being can do 360 degrees.

Now why would they have their legs covered? Look at verse 8: they rest not day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”

Why in verse 7 did John see four different creatures, whereas in Ezekiel the creatures have four faces? John was seeing the creatures from each respective side. These creatures have the appearance of a man, but on all sides—a 360-degree direction.

Our God is a 360-degree person that can go everywhere, within and without—a perfect circle. That’s why Jesus Christ is likened to the Sun of righteousness with healing in His wings, and Satan wants to imitate that by being his own sun god of worship (which is why sun symbols and all-seeing eyes appear in the Catholic Church and occult conspiracies).

Because these beings are singing to the Lord, “Holy, holy, holy,” they need wings to cover their feet. In the Orient—and remember, Jews and Orientals both come from Shem—when approaching the presence of a king before the throne, it is essential that they cover their feet. That’s why there are wings below to cover them in the presence of the King. And the wings above cover them where they do not look upon the face of the King out of dignity and respect. Because God is in a position of being 360 degrees all around, He created 360-degree beings that can give Him proper worship.

The verse mentions the wheels below the feet wherever the cherubim go. What figure is this? 360. And burnished brass near their feet gets heated up like brass.
