an hundred

מֵאָ֛ה

and that which went forth

תַּשְׁאִ֥יר

ten

עֲשָׂרָ֖ה

to the house

לְבֵ֥ית

of Israel

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

unto the house

לְבֵ֣ית

Seek

דִּרְשׁ֖וּנִי

ye me and ye shall live

וִֽחְיֽוּ׃

 

וְאַֽל

But seek

תִּדְרְשׁוּ֙

 

בֵּֽית

and Bethel

אֵ֖ל

for Gilgal

הַגִּלְגָּל֙

 

לֹ֣א

nor enter

תָבֹ֔אוּ

 

וּבְאֵ֥ר

not to Beersheba

שֶׁ֖בַע

 

לֹ֣א

and pass

תַעֲבֹ֑רוּ

 

כִּ֤י

for Gilgal

הַגִּלְגָּל֙

go into captivity

יִגְלֶ֔ה

וּבֵֽית

and Bethel

אֵ֖ל

 

יִהְיֶ֥ה

shall come to nought

לְאָֽוֶן׃

Seek

דִּרְשׁ֥וּ

Ye who turn

הַהֹפְכִ֥ים

to wormwood

לְלַעֲנָ֖ה

judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

righteousness

וּצְדָקָ֖ה

in the earth

לָאָ֥רֶץ

and leave off

הִנִּֽיחוּ׃

Seek him that maketh

עֹשֵׂ֨ה

the seven stars

כִימָ֜ה

and Orion

וּכְסִ֗יל

and turneth

וְהֹפֵ֤ךְ

into the morning

לַבֹּ֙קֶר֙

the shadow of death

צַלְמָ֔וֶת

and maketh the day

וְי֖וֹם

with night

לַ֣יְלָה

dark

הֶחְשִׁ֑יךְ

that calleth

הַקּוֹרֵ֣א

for the waters

לְמֵֽי

of the sea

הַיָּ֗ם

and poureth them out

וַֽיִּשְׁפְּכֵ֛ם

 

עַל

upon the face

פְּנֵ֥י

הָאָ֖רֶץ

The LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

That strengtheneth

הַמַּבְלִ֥יג

וְלֹא

but ye shall not dwell

תֵ֣שְׁבוּ

 

בָ֑ם

vineyards

כַּרְמֵי

pleasant

חֶ֣מֶד

in them ye have planted

נְטַעְתֶּ֔ם

 

וְלֹ֥א

but ye shall not drink

תִשְׁתּ֖וּ

 

אֶת

wine

יֵינָֽם׃

 

כִּ֤י

For I know

יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙

your manifold

רַבִּ֣ים

transgressions

פִּשְׁעֵיכֶ֔ם

and your mighty

וַעֲצֻמִ֖ים

sins

חַטֹּֽאתֵיכֶ֑ם

they afflict

צֹרְרֵ֤י

the just

צַדִּיק֙

they take

לֹ֣קְחֵי

a bribe

כֹ֔פֶר

the poor

וְאֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים

in the gate

בַּשַּׁ֥עַר

and they turn aside

הִטּֽוּ׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

Therefore the prudent

הַמַּשְׂכִּ֛יל

in that time

עֵ֥ת

 

הַהִ֖יא

shall keep silence

יִדֹּ֑ם

 

כִּ֛י

in that time

עֵ֥ת

for it is an evil

רָעָ֖ה

 

הִֽיא׃

Seek

דִּרְשׁוּ

good

ט֥וֹב

 

וְאַל

and not evil

רָ֖ע

 

לְמַ֣עַן

that ye may live

תִּֽחְי֑וּ

 

וִיהִי

 

כֵ֞ן

and so the LORD

יְהוָ֧ה

אֱלֹהֵֽי

of hosts

אִתְּכֶ֖ם

 

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר

shall be with you as ye have spoken

אֲמַרְתֶּֽם׃

Hate

שִׂנְאוּ

the evil

רָע֙

and love

וְאֶ֣הֱבוּ

the good

ט֔וֹב

and establish

וְהַצִּ֥יגוּ

in the gate

בַשַּׁ֖עַר

judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

 

אוּלַ֗י

will be gracious

יֶֽחֱנַ֛ן

it may be that the LORD

אֱלֹהֵֽי

shall be in all streets

רְחֹב֣וֹת

thus Wailing

וּמִסְפֵּ֖ד

 

וּבְכָל

in all the highways

חוּצ֖וֹת

and they shall say

יֹאמְר֣וּ

ה֑וֹ

and they shall call

וְקָרְא֤וּ

the husbandman

אִכָּר֙

 

אֶל

to mourning

אֵ֔בֶל

thus Wailing

וּמִסְפֵּ֖ד

and such as are skilful

of lamentation

And in all vineyards

כְּרָמִ֖ים

shall be wailing

אָרִ֖יחַ

in your solemn assemblies

בְּעַצְּרֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃

Though ye offer

תַּעֲלוּ

 

לִ֥י

me burnt offerings

עֹל֛וֹת

and your meat offerings

וּמִנְחֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

 

לֹ֣א

I will not accept

אֶרְצֶ֑ה

the peace offerings

וְשֶׁ֥לֶם

of your fat beasts

מְרִיאֵיכֶ֖ם

 

לֹ֥א

them neither will I regard

אַבִּֽיט׃

Take thou away

הָסֵ֥ר

 

מֵעָלַ֖י

from me the noise

הֲמ֣וֹן

of thy songs

שִׁרֶ֑יךָ

the melody

וְזִמְרַ֥ת

of thy viols

נְבָלֶ֖יךָ

 

לֹ֥א

for I will not hear

אֶשְׁמָֽע׃

וְיִגַּ֥ל

as waters

כַּמַּ֖יִם

But let judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

and righteousness

וּצְדָקָ֖ה

כְּנַ֥חַל

as a mighty

אֵיתָֽן׃

הַזְּבָחִ֨ים

and offerings

וּמִנְחָ֜ה

Have ye offered

הִֽגַּשְׁתֶּם

 

לִ֧י

in the wilderness

בַמִּדְבָּ֛ר

O house

כִּיּ֣וּן

your images

צַלְמֵיכֶ֑ם

כּוֹכַב֙

אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which ye made

עֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם

 

לָכֶֽם׃

Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity

וְהִגְלֵיתִ֥י

 

אֶתְכֶ֖ם
