וּ֭זְרוֹעֲךָ

and the light

וְא֥וֹר

of thy countenance

because thou hadst a favour

רְצִיתָֽם׃

 

אַתָּה

 

ה֣וּא

Thou art my King

מַלְכִּ֣י

O God

אֱלֹהִ֑ים

command

צַ֝וֵּ֗ה

deliverances

יְשׁוּע֥וֹת

for Jacob

יַעֲקֹֽב׃

 

בְּ֭ךָ

our enemies

צָרֵ֣ינוּ

Through thee will we push down

נְנַגֵּ֑חַ

through thy name

בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ֗

will we tread them under

נָב֥וּס

that rise up

קָמֵֽינוּ׃

 

כִּ֤י

 

לֹ֣א

in my bow

בְקַשְׁתִּ֣י

For I will not trust

אֶבְטָ֑ח

neither shall my sword

וְ֝חַרְבִּ֗י

 

לֹ֣א

save

תוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃

 

כִּ֣י

But thou hast saved

ה֭וֹשַׁעְתָּנוּ

us from our enemies

מִצָּרֵ֑ינוּ

that hated

וּמְשַׂנְאֵ֥ינוּ

and hast put them to shame

הֱבִישֽׁוֹתָ׃

In God

בֵּֽ֭אלֹהִים

we boast

הִלַּלְ֣נוּ

 

כָל

all the day

הַיּ֑וֹם

thy name

וְשִׁמְךָ֓׀

for ever

לְעוֹלָ֖ם

long and praise

נוֹדֶ֣ה

Selah

סֶֽלָה׃

But

אַף

thou hast cast off

זָ֭נַחְתָּ

and put us to shame

וַתַּכְלִימֵ֑נוּ

 

וְלֹא

and goest not forth

תֵ֝צֵ֗א

with our armies

בְּצִבְאוֹתֵֽינוּ׃

Thou makest us to turn

תְּשִׁיבֵ֣נוּ

back

אָ֭חוֹר

 

מִנִּי

from the enemy

צָ֑ר

and they which hate

וּ֝מְשַׂנְאֵ֗ינוּ

us spoil

שָׁ֣סוּ

 

לָֽמוֹ׃

Thou hast given

תִּ֭תְּנֵנוּ

us like sheep

כְּצֹ֣אן

appointed for meat

מַאֲכָ֑ל

us among the heathen

וּ֝בַגּוֹיִ֗ם

and hast scattered

זֵרִיתָֽנוּ׃

Thou sellest

תִּמְכֹּֽר

thy people

עַמְּךָ֥

 

בְלֹא

for nought

ה֑וֹן

 

וְלֹ֥א

and dost not increase

רִ֝בִּ֗יתָ

thy wealth by their price

בִּמְחִירֵיהֶֽם׃

Thou makest

תְּשִׂימֵ֣נוּ

us a reproach

חֶ֭רְפָּה

to our neighbours

לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ

a scorn

לַ֥עַג

and a derision

וָ֝קֶ֗לֶס

to them that are round about

לִסְבִיבוֹתֵֽינוּ׃

Thou makest

תְּשִׂימֵ֣נוּ

us a byword

מָ֭שָׁל

among the heathen

בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם

a shaking

מְנֽוֹד

of the head

רֹ֝֗אשׁ

among the people

בַּלְאֻמִּֽים׃

 

כָּל

is continually

הַ֭יּוֹם

My confusion

כְּלִמָּתִ֣י

 

נֶגְדִּ֑י

before me and the shame

וּבֹ֖שֶׁת

of my face

פָּנַ֣י

hath covered

כִּסָּֽתְנִי׃

For the voice

מִ֭קּוֹל

of him that reproacheth

מְחָרֵ֣ף

and blasphemeth

וּמְגַדֵּ֑ף

by reason

מִפְּנֵ֥י

of the enemy

א֝וֹיֵ֗ב

and avenger

וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃

All this is come

בָּ֭אַתְנוּ

 

וְלֹ֣א

upon us yet have we not forgotten

שְׁכַחֲנ֑וּךָ

 

וְלֹֽא

thee neither have we dealt falsely

שִׁ֝קַּ֗רְנוּ

in thy covenant

בִּבְרִיתֶֽךָ׃

 

לֹא

is not turned

נָס֣וֹג

back

אָח֣וֹר

Our heart

לִבֵּ֑נוּ

declined

וַתֵּ֥ט

neither have our steps

אֲשֻׁרֵ֗ינוּ

 

מִנִּ֥י

from thy way

אָרְחֶֽךָ׃

Though thou hast sore broken

דִ֭כִּיתָנוּ

us in the place

בִּמְק֣וֹם

of dragons

תַּנִּ֑ים

and covered

וַתְּכַ֖ס

 

עָלֵ֣ינוּ

us with the shadow of death

בְצַלְמָֽוֶת׃

 

אִם

If we have forgotten

שָׁ֭כַחְנוּ

the name

שֵׁ֣ם

of our God

אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ

or stretched out

וַנִּפְרֹ֥שׂ

our hands

כַּ֝פֵּ֗ינוּ

לְאֵ֣ל

to a strange

Shall not God

אֱ֭לֹהִים

search this out

יַֽחֲקָר

Yea for thy sake are we killed

long we are counted

נֶ֝חְשַׁ֗בְנוּ

as sheep

for the slaughter

טִבְחָֽה׃

Awake

ע֤וּרָה׀

 

לָ֖מָּה

why sleepest

תִישַׁ֥ן׀

thou O Lord

אֲדֹנָ֑י

arise

הָ֝קִ֗יצָה

 

אַל

cast us not off

תִּזְנַ֥ח

for ever

לָנֶֽצַח׃

 

לָֽמָּה

thou thy face

פָנֶ֥יךָ

Wherefore hidest

תַסְתִּ֑יר

and forgettest

תִּשְׁכַּ֖ח

our affliction

עָנְיֵ֣נוּ

and our oppression

וְֽלַחֲצֵֽנוּ׃

 

כִּ֤י

is bowed down

שָׁ֣חָה

to the dust

לֶעָפָ֣ר

For our soul

נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ

cleaveth

דָּבְקָ֖ה

unto the earth

לָאָ֣רֶץ

our belly

בִּטְנֵֽנוּ׃

Arise

ק֭וּמָֽה

for our help

עֶזְרָ֣תָה

 

לָּ֑נוּ

and redeem

וּ֝פְדֵ֗נוּ

 

לְמַ֣עַן

us for thy mercies

חַסְדֶּֽךָ׃
