Revelation 20: 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
“and the books were opened”
There are many bookS opened.
“another book was opened”
There is a singular book that was opened, which is the book of life. If their names are not found, they are cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20: 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
“and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works”
What were all these books? These books are going to detail everything that they did and they are going to be judged according to their works. These books are the 66 books in the Bible that are going to judge us.
Here’s the proof.
Romans 3: 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
“That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings”
Where can God be found in His sayings? In the Bible. God has to be justified.
“mightest overcome when thou art judged”
Wait a minute. God has to be judged and overcome? This happens during the Great White Throne judgment. This is where this verse was quoted from.
Psalm 51: 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
The context of the above verse is the Great White Throne judgment. It says that He has to be clear when He speaks. People are going to bring up all kinds of arguments in front of God’s throne because their souls are at stake.
At the Great White Throne judgment, God is going to say “That’s the same excuse the past 1,000,000 people used.”
All of these are judged according to His books, the Bible.
The Bible itself will be the judge of these souls. When we do street preaching and soul-winning, it is a precursor to what these people are going to experience at the Great White Throne judgment. If they don’t repent at our judgment, at this final judgment (Great White Throne), they will. When we go out soul-winning, we are giving them a chance to repent. At the throne of God, they have no chance.
John 12: 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
There’s nothing you do that the Bible doesn’t know. The Bible reads you like a book and will expose all your works.
Hebrews 4: 12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
“is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The Bible says it’s going to judge us for our thoughts and intents of the heart. This is the final authority to judge people, not philosophy, science etc which help to elevate the KJV 1611’s claims but the final authority is always the Bible.
“according to their works.”
Old Testament, tribulation and millennium saints go through the Great White Throne judgement and their works will be judged. This is different from the Christian church who is saved by faith only. Dispensationalism unlocks the Bible.
The Christians’ names are written in the book of life and are sealed until the day of redemption. During the church age, we are saved by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ only.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
That’s why we see an apparent “contradiction” in the Bible where it says your name can be wiped out from the book of life or that you can lose your salvation vs the ones that say your salvation is eternally secure. The reason is because they are for different groups of people.
Revelation 11: 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
There’s a reward and damnation system at the Great White Throne judgement.
“the prophets” are the Old Testament saints.
“the saints” are the tribulation saints.
“them that fear thy name, small and great” are the millennium saints.
There is no contradiction when we line up the verses nicely according to which group it is for.
