Revelation 4:8 “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
The four beasts don’t sleep.
“saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
Notice three times ‘holy’.
Notice three times repetition of God’s name: Lord, God, Almighty.
Notice three times the time: was, is, is to come.
Why all the three repetitions? Because God is a “three-times” person. He is the Trinity. Holy, holy holy, one to the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Revelation 4:9: “And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,”
“And when those beasts give glory”
God deserves glory.
“and honour”
God deserves the respect. You got to respect His majesty, and give Him honor.
“and thanks”
God deserves your gratitude.
“to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,”
Why does God deserve glory, honour and even your thanks? Just because He is God, that alone should suffice why He deserves your glory, your honour, and your thanks to Him. Not because He died for you, not because He blessed you, not because He answered your prayers, but just because of who He is.
Revelation 4:10:“The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,”
Whoever these 24 elders are, they’re bowing down before Him.
God lives forever, He doesn’t die, He deserves your worship.
They’re casting their crowns before Him. Who is the one that gets the crowns? If you read Revelations 2 and 3, it’s the Christians in the church, not the tribulation saints. Because we didn’t even start the tribulation yet.
Revelation 4:11: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:”
Yes, He is worthy to receive glory, honour and power. Why?
“for thou hast created all things,”
Because God created everything, that’s why He deserves the glory, honour and power. Because He’s God.
“and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
God created everything we see today and everything before the beginning of Genesis 1. For that, He deserves your worship.
Some people argue why should they worship God. But who are you to say that to the one who gave you the air to breathe?
Atheists will never understand that. They have to put God at a humane level like you and me. They want all things to be fair, that’s why they think God is unfair. They make God a human, that’s limiting God. God cannot be God if He has to be a human, like us.
What does God mean? He’s elevated, higher above human beings which means He deserves your worship and praise. It doesn’t matter if He does or doesn’t play fair with you, He deserves that respect, glory, honor, and power.
Revelation 5:1: “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.”
“And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne”
God’s sitting on the throne, and on His right hand, He’s holding something.
“a book written within and on the backside,”
There’s a book that has writing inside and on the backside.
“sealed with seven seals.”
And it is sealed with seven seals.
First of all, it must be understood that it is sealed. Whatever this book is, it’s referring to seals. Another thing is that if you study the seals, what are the seals covering?
Look at Revelation 6:2, when Jesus opens the seal, the Antichrist comes out. In verse 4, the second seal is open and the red horse comes out. In verse 5, the third seal is broken and the black horse comes out. In verse 7, the fourth seal is broken and that’s death and hell. In verse 9, you’ll see the fifth and sixth seal opening up referring to the tribulation saints being martyred and then chaos in heaven. The seventh seal that God’s going to unleash in Revelation 8:1, shows that time is no longer, God is about to wrap everything up. So then these seals are referring to the entire end times over here, the tribulation.
The sealing of this book is then referring to Revelation itself. Notice that when Daniel was giving parts of Revelation, what did God tell Daniel?
Daniel 12:4: “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
Daniel 12:8-9: “And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”
There is no doubt this sealing of the book is referring to the end times of tribulation.
Revelation 22:10 “And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.”
That’s why it makes sense why God tell Daniel to shut it up. It wasn’t time, he needs someone worthy to open it.
Revelation 5:2 “And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?”
There’s even a strong angel who couldn’t do it. Somebody had to be stronger than this angel to open this book. Daniel had to seal, somebody worthy had to unleash it.
Revelation 5:3 “And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.”
“And no man in heaven, nor in earth,”
No one in heaven nor on earth.
“neither under the earth, was able to open the book,”
Not even the powers of hell were able to open the book.
“neither to look thereon.”
Let alone open it, they can’t even look at the book. There’s only one worthy to do this.
Revelation 5:4 “And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.”
John was weeping, because how can Jesus Christ come down as king of kings and lord of lords to get that happy ending? That happy ending is necessary where we all live happily ever after, and we cannot get that until He unleashes the seals on the book. If He didn’t open this, do you know what would happen? We would be like what all the atheists, communists, world leaders, Catholics, and all the world religions are trying to do: ‘We can build our heaven here on earth. Global warming is real and the planet is going to be destroyed but we can do it, we can build our kingdom here on earth.’ If Jesus Christ didn’t loosen the seals, do you realize what kind of earth we’ll still be on today? Sins, drug, death, murder, and corrupted earth.
Revelation 5:5: “And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not:”
Notice that one of the 24 elders says to John, Don’t weep. Why?
“behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda,”
Jesus is known as the Lion of the tribe of Juda.
“the Root of David,”
Jesus is from the root of David.
“hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.”
Notice why can He open it? It says that he has prevailed, which means there had to be something significant that this lamb had to do so that He can open this book. What did He have to do?
Revelation 5:9-10:“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
Why? That’s why Muhammad, Buddha, Joseph Smith, Charles Russell do not qualify as God. That’s why no one can qualify because they didn’t do this for you:
“for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
You got to keep in mind why this is important. Why did God have to come twice if it wasn’t that important? Two comings have to happen. Otherwise, we would not be here and live happily ever after.
The first coming was His death. If He did not pay the sin debt on the cross, He would not have been worthy to open that book. If He gave up on the cross, we would not live happily ever after. Here’s another thing, if Jesus Christ won’t open the seals and unleash the tribulation where He can come down the second time, we cannot live happily ever after.
This earth will be doomed as a sinful and corrupted planet underneath the feet of the elites and king of hell itself, whom the God of this world had blinded their minds. So Jesus Christ had to come twice – He had to die for us so that He can unleash the seal and then take back His kingdom, and we can all live happily ever after. That’s why this is important, otherwise, you wouldn’t get your happy ending.
