unto Ahimelech

לַֽאֲחִימֶ֣לֶךְ

the priest

הַכֹּהֵ֗ן

The king

הַמֶּלֶךְ֮

hath commanded

צִוִּיתִ֑ךָ

me a business

הַדָּבָ֛ר

and hath said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

 

אֵלַ֗י

unto me Let no man

אִ֣ישׁ

יוֹדַ֔עְתִּי

any thing

מְא֛וּמָה

 

אֶת

from us about these three

וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ

and the vessels

בַּכֶּֽלִי׃

הַנְּעָרִ֖ים

And David

דָּוִד֙

unto Ahimelech

לַֽאֲחִימֶ֔לֶךְ

וַיְשַׁנּ֤וֹ

them and feigned himself mad

וַיִּתְהֹלֵ֖ל

in their hands

בְּיָדָ֑ם

and scrabbled

וַיְתָו֙

on the doors

דַּלְת֣וֹת

of the gate

הַשַּׁ֔עַר

fall down

וַיּ֥וֹרֶד

and let his spittle

רִיר֖וֹ

 

אֶל

upon his beard

זְקָנֽוֹ׃

Then said

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

Achish

אָכִ֖ישׁ

 

אֶל

unto his servants

עֲבָדָ֑יו

 

הִנֵּ֤ה

Lo ye see

תִרְאוּ֙

the man

אִ֣ישׁ

is mad

מִשְׁתַּגֵּ֔עַ

 

לָ֛מָּה

wherefore then have ye brought

תָּבִ֥יאוּ

 

אֹת֖וֹ

 

אֵלָֽי׃

Have I need

חֲסַ֤ר

of mad men

לְהִשְׁתַּגֵּ֖עַ
