The LORD

יְהוָ֤ה

 

עִמָּכֶם֙

 

בִּֽהְיוֹתְכֶ֣ם

 

עִמּ֔וֹ

 

וְאִֽם

is with you while ye be with him and if ye seek

תִּדְרְשֻׁ֙הוּ֙

him he will be found

יִמָּצֵ֣א

 

לָכֶ֔ם

 

וְאִם

him he will forsake

יַֽעֲזֹ֥ב

him he will forsake

יַֽעֲזֹ֥ב

 

אֶתְכֶֽם׃

season

וְיָמִ֥ים

Now for a long

רַבִּ֖ים

Israel

לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

hath been without

וּלְלֹ֥א

God

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

the true

אֱמֶ֗ת

hath been without

וּלְלֹ֥א

priest

כֹּהֵ֥ן

and without a teaching

מוֹרֶ֖ה

hath been without

וּלְלֹ֥א

and without law

תוֹרָֽה׃

did turn

וַיָּ֙שָׁב֙

But when they in their trouble

בַּצַּר

 

ל֔וֹ

 

עַל

unto the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

God

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

and sought

וַיְבַקְשֻׁ֖הוּ

him he was found

וַיִּמָּצֵ֥א

 

לָהֶֽם׃

And in those times

וּבָֽעִתִּ֣ים

 

הָהֵ֔ם

 

אֵ֥ין

there was no peace

שָׁל֖וֹם

to him that went out

לַיּוֹצֵ֣א

nor to him that came in

וְלַבָּ֑א

 

כִּ֚י

vexations

מְהוּמֹ֣ת

but great

רַבּ֔וֹת

 

עַ֥ל

 

כָּל

were upon all the inhabitants

יֹשְׁבֵ֖י

of the countries

הָֽאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

was destroyed

וְכֻתְּת֥וּ

And nation

בְּג֖וֹי

And nation

בְּג֖וֹי

and city

בְּעִ֑יר

and city

בְּעִ֑יר

 

כִּֽי

for God

אֱלֹהִ֥ים

did vex

הֲמָמָ֖ם

 

בְּכָל

them with all adversity

צָרָֽה׃

 

וְאַתֶּ֣ם

Be ye strong

חִזְק֔וּ

 

וְאַל

be weak

יִרְפּ֖וּ

therefore and let not your hands

יְדֵיכֶ֑ם

 

כִּ֛י

shall be

יֵ֥שׁ

rewarded

שָׂכָ֖ר

for your work

לִפְעֻלַּתְכֶֽם׃

heard

וְכִשְׁמֹ֨עַ

And when Asa

אָסָ֜א

these words

הַדְּבָרִ֣ים

 

הָאֵ֗לֶּה

and the prophecy

וְהַנְּבוּאָה֮

of Oded

עֹדֵ֣ד

the prophet

הַנָּבִיא֒

he took courage

הִתְחַזַּ֗ק

and put away

וַיַּֽעֲבֵ֤ר

the abominable idols

הַשִּׁקּוּצִים֙

 

מִכָּל

out of all the land

אֶ֤רֶץ

of Judah

יְהוּדָה֙

and Benjamin

וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן

 

וּמִן

and out of the cities

הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

which he had taken

לָכַ֖ד

from mount

מֵהַ֣ר

Ephraim

אֶפְרָ֑יִם

and renewed

וַיְחַדֵּשׁ֙

 

אֶת

the altar

מִזְבַּ֣ח

of the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֕ר

that was before

לִפְנֵ֖י

the porch

אוּלָ֥ם

of the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

And he gathered

וַיִּקְבֹּ֗ץ

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

all Judah

יְהוּדָה֙

and Benjamin

וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן

and the strangers

וְהַגָּרִים֙

 

עִמָּהֶ֔ם

with them out of Ephraim

מֵֽאֶפְרַ֥יִם

and Manasseh

וּמְנַשֶּׁ֖ה

and out of Simeon

וּמִשִּׁמְע֑וֹן

 

כִּֽי

for they fell

נָפְל֨וּ

 

עָלָ֤יו

to him out of Israel

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל֙

in abundance

לָרֹ֔ב

when they saw

בִּרְאֹתָ֕ם

 

כִּֽי

that the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

his God

אֱלֹהָ֖יו

 

עִמּֽוֹ׃

So they gathered themselves together

וַיִּקָּֽבְצ֥וּ

at Jerusalem

יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ

in the third

הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֑י

year

לִשְׁנַ֥ת

in the fifteenth

חֲמֵשׁ

 

עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה

of the reign

לְמַלְכ֥וּת

of Asa

אָסָֽא׃

And they offered

וַיִּזְבְּח֤וּ

unto the LORD

לַֽיהוָה֙

the same time

בַּיּ֣וֹם

 

הַה֔וּא

of the spoil

הַשָּׁלָ֖ל

which they had brought

הֵבִ֑יאוּ

oxen

בָּקָר֙

and seven

שִׁבְעַ֥ת

hundred

מֵא֔וֹת

sheep

וְצֹ֖אן

and seven

שִׁבְעַ֥ת

thousand

אֲלָפִֽים׃

And they entered

וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ

into a covenant

בַבְּרִ֔ית

to seek

לִדְר֕וֹשׁ

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

God

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of their fathers

אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם

 

בְּכָל

with all their heart

לְבָבָ֖ם

 

וּבְכָל

and with all their soul

נַפְשָֽׁם׃

 

וְכֹ֨ל

 

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

 

לֹֽא

That whosoever would not seek

יִדְרֹ֛שׁ

the LORD

לַֽיהוָ֥ה

God

אֱלֹהֵֽי

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

should be put to death

And they sware

וַיִּשָּֽׁבְעוּ֙

unto the LORD

לַֽיהוָ֔ה

voice

בְּק֥וֹל

with a loud

גָּד֖וֹל

and with shouting

וּבִתְרוּעָ֑ה

and with trumpets

וּבַחֲצֹֽצְר֖וֹת

and with cornets

וּבְשֽׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃

rejoiced

וַיִּשְׂמְח֨וּ

 

כָל

And all Judah

יְהוּדָ֜ה

 

עַל

at the oath

הַשְּׁבוּעָ֗ה

 

כִּ֤י

 

בְכָל

with all their heart

לְבָבָם֙

for they had sworn

נִשְׁבָּ֔עוּ

 

וּבְכָל

him with their whole desire

רְצוֹנָ֣ם

and sought

בִּקְשֻׁ֔הוּ

and he was found

וַיִּמָּצֵ֖א

 

לָהֶ֑ם

gave them rest

וַיָּ֧נַח

of them and the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

 

לָהֶ֖ם

round about

מִסָּבִֽיב׃

 

וְגַֽם

And also concerning Maachah

מַעֲכָ֞ה

the mother

אֵ֣ם׀

and Asa

אָסָא֙

the king

הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ

he removed

הֱסִירָהּ֙

her from being queen

מִגְּבִירָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁר

because she had made

עָֽשְׂתָ֥ה

in a grove

לָאֲשֵׁרָ֖ה

an idol

מִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּ

cut down

וַיִּכְרֹ֤ת

and Asa

אָסָא֙

 

אֶת

an idol

מִפְלַצְתָּ֔הּ

and stamped

וַיָּ֕דֶק

it and burnt

וַיִּשְׂרֹ֖ף

it at the brook

בְּנַ֥חַל

Kidron

קִדְרֽוֹן׃

But the high places

וְהַ֨בָּמ֔וֹת

 

לֹא

were not taken away

סָ֖רוּ

out of Israel

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

רַ֧ק

nevertheless the heart

לְבַב

of Asa

אָסָ֛א

 

הָיָ֥ה

was perfect

שָׁלֵ֖ם

 

כָּל

all his days

יָמָֽיו׃

And he brought

וַיָּבֵ֞א

 

אֶת

and that he himself had dedicated

וְקָֽדָשָׁ֖יו

the things that his father

אָבִ֛יו

and that he himself had dedicated

וְקָֽדָשָׁ֖יו

into the house

בֵּ֣ית

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים

silver

כֶּ֥סֶף

and gold

וְזָהָ֖ב

and vessels

וְכֵלִֽים׃

And there was no more war

וּמִלְחָמָ֖ה

 

לֹ֣א

 

הָיָ֑תָה

 

עַ֛ד
