that we may drink

וְנִשְׁתֶּ֑ה

לָהֶם֙

And Moses

מֹשֶׁ֔ה

תְּרִיבוּן֙

 

עִמָּדִ֔י

ye with me wherefore do ye tempt

תְּנַסּ֖וּן

וַיָּ֥לֶן

מֹשֶׁ֑ה

Wherefore is this that thou hast brought

הֶֽעֱלִיתָ֣נוּ

us up out of Egypt

מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

to kill

לְהָמִ֥ית

 

אֹתִ֛י

 

וְאֶת

us and our children

בָּנַ֥י

 

וְאֶת

and our cattle

מִקְנַ֖י

with thirst

בַּצָּמָֽא׃

cried

וַיִּצְעַ֤ק

And Moses

מֹשֶׁה֙

 

אֶל

unto the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

 

מָ֥ה

What shall I do

אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה

unto this people

לָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֑ה

 

ע֥וֹד

they be almost

מְעַ֖ט

ready to stone

וּסְקָלֻֽנִי׃

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

 

אֶל

unto Moses

מֹשֶׁ֗ה

Go on

עֲבֹר֙

before

לִפְנֵ֣י

the people

הָעָ֔ם

and take

קַ֥ח

 

אִתְּךָ֖

with thee of the elders

מִזִּקְנֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

and thy rod

וּמַטְּךָ֗

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

wherewith thou smotest

הִכִּ֤יתָ

 

בּוֹ֙

 

אֶת

the river

הַיְאֹ֔ר

and take

קַ֥ח

in thine hand

בְּיָֽדְךָ֖

and go

וְהָלָֽכְתָּ׃

 

הִנְנִ֣י

Behold I will stand

עֹמֵד֩

before

לְפָנֶ֨יךָ

 

שָּׁ֥ם׀

the rock

בַצּ֗וּר

in Horeb

בְּחֹרֵב֒

and thou shalt smite

וְהִכִּ֣יתָ

וְשָׁתָ֣ה

הָעָ֑ם

הַמָּק֔וֹם

Massah

מַסָּ֖ה

and Meribah

וּמְרִיבָ֑ה

 

עַל

because of the chiding

רִ֣יב׀

of the children

בְּנֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

 

וְעַ֨ל

and because they tempted

נַסֹּתָ֤ם

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

Is

הֲיֵ֧שׁ

the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

among

בְּקִרְבֵּ֖נוּ

 

אִם

 

אָֽיִן׃

Then came

וַיָּבֹ֖א

Amalek

עֲמָלֵ֑ק

and fought

וַיִּלָּ֥חֶם

 

עִם

with Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

in Rephidim

בִּרְפִידִֽם׃

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And Moses

מֹשֶׁ֤ה

 

אֶל

unto Joshua

יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙

Choose us out

בְּחַר

 

לָ֣נוּ

 

אֲנָשִׁ֔ים

and go out

וְצֵ֖א

fight

הִלָּחֵ֣ם

with Amalek

בַּֽעֲמָלֵ֑ק

to morrow

מָחָ֗ר

 

אָֽנֹכִ֤י

I will stand

נִצָּב֙

 

עַל

on the top

רֹ֣אשׁ

of the hill

הַגִּבְעָ֔ה

with the rod

וּמַטֵּ֥ה

of God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים

in mine hand

בְּיָדִֽי׃

did

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ

So Joshua

יְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ

with Amalek

בַּֽעֲמָלֵ֑ק

And it came to pass when Moses

and when he let down

יָנִ֛יחַ

his hand

יָד֖וֹ

Amalek

עֲמָלֵֽק׃

and his hands

יָדָ֛יו

But Moses

מֹשֶׁה֙

were heavy

כְּבֵדִ֔ים

and they took

וַיִּקְחוּ

a stone

אֶ֛בֶן

and put

וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ

 

תַחְתָּ֖יו

it under him and he sat

וַיֵּ֣שֶׁב

 

עָלֶ֑יהָ

thereon and Aaron

וְאַֽהֲרֹ֨ן

and Hur

וְח֜וּר

stayed up

תָּֽמְכ֣וּ

and his hands

יָדָ֛יו

 

מִזֶּ֤ה

and the other on the other side

אֶחָ֔ד

 

וּמִזֶּ֣ה

it in the ears

בְּאָזְנֵ֣י

of Joshua

יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ

 

כִּֽי

for I will utterly

אֶמְחֶה֙

for I will utterly

אֶמְחֶה֙

 

אֶת

the remembrance

זֵ֣כֶר

of Amalek

עֲמָלֵ֔ק

 

מִתַּ֖חַת

from under heaven

הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

built

וַיִּ֥בֶן

And Moses

an altar

מִזְבֵּ֑חַ

and called

וַיִּקְרָ֥א

with Amalek
