because that Tyrus

against Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

Aha

הֶאָ֔ח

she is broken

נִשְׁבְּרָ֛ה

that was the gates

דַּלְת֥וֹת

of the people

הָעַמִּ֖ים

she is turned

נָסֵ֣בָּה

 

אֵלָ֑י

unto me I shall be replenished

אִמָּלְאָ֖ה

now she is laid waste

הָחֳרָֽבָה׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

הִנְנִ֥י

 

עָלַ֖יִךְ

Behold I am against thee O Tyrus

צֹ֑ר

to come up

כְּהַעֲל֥וֹת

 

עָלַ֙יִךְ֙

nations

גּוֹיִ֣ם

and will cause many

רַבִּ֔ים

to come up

כְּהַעֲל֥וֹת

against thee as the sea

הַיָּ֖ם

causeth his waves

לְגַלָּֽיו׃

And they shall destroy

וְשִׁחֲת֞וּ

the walls

חֹמ֣וֹת

of Tyrus

צֹ֗ר

and break down

וְהָֽרְסוּ֙

her towers

מִגְדָּלֶ֔יהָ

I will also scrape

וְסִֽחֵיתִ֥י

her dust

עֲפָרָ֖הּ

 

מִמֶּ֑נָּה

from her and make

וְנָתַתִּ֥י

 

אוֹתָ֖הּ

her like the top

לִצְחִ֥יחַ

of a rock

סָֽלַע׃

It shall be a place for the spreading

מִשְׁטַ֨ח

of nets

חֲרָמִ֤ים

 

תִּֽהְיֶה֙

in the midst

בְּת֣וֹךְ

of the sea

הַיָּ֔ם

 

כִּ֚י

 

אֲנִ֣י

for I have spoken

דִבַּ֔רְתִּי

it saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֑ה

 

וְהָיְתָ֥ה

and it shall become a spoil

לְבַ֖ז

to the nations

לַגּוֹיִֽם׃

And her daughters

וּבְנוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which are in the field

בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה

by the sword

בַּחֶ֖רֶב

shall be slain

תֵּהָרַ֑גְנָה

and they shall know

וְיָדְע֖וּ

 

כִּי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

 

כִּ֣י

 

כֹ֤ה

For thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

הִנְנִ֧י

Behold I will bring

מֵבִ֣יא

 

אֶל

upon Tyrus

צֹ֗ר

Nebuchadrezzar

נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֧ר

a king

מְלָכִ֑ים

of Babylon

בָּבֶ֛ל

from the north

מִצָּפ֖וֹן

a king

מְלָכִ֑ים

a king

מְלָכִ֑ים

with horses

בְּס֛וּס

and with chariots

וּבְרֶ֥כֶב

and with horsemen

וּבְפָרָשִׁ֖ים

and companies

וְקָהָ֥ל

people

וְעַם

and much

רָֽב׃

thy daughters

בְּנוֹתַ֥יִךְ

in the field

בַּשָּׂדֶ֖ה

with the sword

בַּחֶ֣רֶב

He shall slay

יַהֲרֹ֑ג

and he shall make

וְנָתַ֨ן

 

עָלַ֜יִךְ

a fort

דָּיֵ֗ק

against thee and cast

וְשָׁפַ֤ךְ

 

עָלַ֙יִךְ֙

a mount

סֹֽלְלָ֔ה

against thee and lift up

וְהֵקִ֥ים

 

עָלַ֖יִךְ

the buckler

צִנָּֽה׃

engines

וּמְחִ֣י

of war

קָֽבָלּ֔וֹ

And he shall set

יִתֵּ֖ן

against thy walls

בְּחֹֽמוֹתָ֑יִךְ

thy towers

וּמִ֨גְדְּלֹתַ֔יִךְ

he shall break down

יִתֹּ֖ץ

and with his axes

בְּחַרְבוֹתָֽיו׃

By reason of the abundance

מִשִּׁפְעַ֥ת

of his horses

סוּסָ֖יו

shall cover

יְכַסֵּ֣ךְ

their dust

אֲבָקָ֑ם

at the noise

מִקּוֹל֩

of the horsemen

פָּרַ֨שׁ

and of the wheels

וְגַלְגַּ֜ל

and of the chariots

וָרֶ֗כֶב

shall shake

תִּרְעַ֙שְׁנָה֙

thee thy walls

חֽוֹמוֹתַ֔יִךְ

when he shall enter

בְּבֹאוֹ֙

into thy gates

בִּשְׁעָרַ֔יִךְ

as men enter

כִּמְבוֹאֵ֖י

into a city

עִ֥יר

wherein is made a breach

מְבֻקָּעָֽה׃

With the hoofs

בְּפַרְס֣וֹת

of his horses

סוּסָ֔יו

shall he tread down

יִרְמֹ֖ס

 

אֶת

 

כָּל

all thy streets

חֽוּצוֹתָ֑יִךְ

thy people

עַמֵּךְ֙

by the sword

בַּחֶ֣רֶב

he shall slay

יַהֲרֹ֔ג

garrisons

וּמַצְּב֥וֹת

and thy strong

עֻזֵּ֖ךְ

to the ground

לָאָ֥רֶץ

shall go down

תֵּרֵֽד׃

And they shall make a spoil

וְשָׁלְל֣וּ

of thy riches

חֵילֵ֗ךְ

and make a prey

וּבָֽזְזוּ֙

of thy merchandise

רְכֻלָּתֵ֔ךְ

and they shall break down

וְהָֽרְסוּ֙

thy walls

חוֹמוֹתַ֔יִךְ

houses

וּבָתֵּ֥י

thy pleasant

חֶמְדָּתֵ֖ךְ

and destroy

יִתֹּ֑צוּ

thy stones

וַאֲבָנַ֤יִךְ

and thy timber

וְעֵצַ֙יִךְ֙

and thy dust

וַֽעֲפָרֵ֔ךְ

in the midst

בְּת֥וֹךְ

of the water

מַ֖יִם

and they shall lay

יָשִֽׂימוּ׃

to cease

וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֖י

And I will cause the noise

הֲמ֣וֹן

of thy songs

שִׁירָ֑יִךְ

and the sound

וְק֣וֹל

of thy harps

כִּנּוֹרַ֔יִךְ

 

לֹ֥א

shall be no more heard

יִשָּׁמַ֖ע

 

עֽוֹד׃

And I will make

וּנְתַתִּ֞יךְ

thee like the top

לִצְחִ֣יחַ

of a rock

סֶ֗לַע

thou shalt be a place to spread

מִשְׁטַ֤ח

nets

חֲרָמִים֙

 

תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה

 

לֹ֥א

thou shalt be built

תִבָּנֶ֖ה

 

ע֑וֹד

 

כִּ֣י

 

אֲנִ֤י

GOD

יְהוָה֙

have spoken

דִּבַּ֔רְתִּי

it saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

no more for I the LORD

יְהוִֽה׃

 

כֹּ֥ה

Thus saith

אָמַ֛ר

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִ֖ה

to Tyrus

לְצ֑וֹר

 

הֲלֹ֣א׀

at the sound

מִקּ֣וֹל

of thy fall

מַפַּלְתֵּ֗ךְ

cry

בֶּאֱנֹ֨ק

when the wounded

חָלָ֜ל

is made

בֵּהָ֤רֵֽג

when the slaughter

הֶ֙רֶג֙

in the midst

בְּתוֹכֵ֔ךְ

shake

יִרְעֲשׁ֖וּ

Shall not the isles

הָאִיִּֽים׃

shall come down

וְֽיָרְד֞וּ

 

מֵעַ֣ל

from their thrones

כִּסְאוֹתָ֗ם

 

כֹּ֚ל

Then all the princes

נְשִׂיאֵ֣י

of the sea

הַיָּ֔ם

and lay away

וְהֵסִ֙ירוּ֙

 

אֶת

their robes

מְעִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם

 

וְאֶת

garments

בִּגְדֵ֥י

their broidered

רִקְמָתָ֖ם

and put off

יִפְשֹׁ֑טוּ

themselves with trembling

חֲרָד֤וֹת׀

they shall clothe

יִלְבָּ֙שׁוּ֙

 

עַל

upon the ground

הָאָ֣רֶץ

they shall sit

יֵשֵׁ֔בוּ

and shall tremble

וְחָֽרְדוּ֙

at every moment

לִרְגָעִ֔ים

and be astonished

וְשָׁמְמ֖וּ

 

עָלָֽיִךְ׃

And they shall take up

וְנָשְׂא֨וּ

 

עָלַ֤יִךְ

a lamentation

קִינָה֙

for thee and say

וְאָ֣מְרוּ

 

לָ֔ךְ

 

אֵ֣יךְ

to thee How art thou destroyed

אָבַ֔דְתְּ

she and her inhabitants

יוֹשְׁבֶֽיהָ׃

in the sea

בַיָּם֙

city

הָעִ֣יר

the renowned

הַהֻלָּ֗לָה

 

אֲשֶׁר֩

 

הָיְתָ֨ה

which wast strong

חֲזָקָ֤ה

in the sea

בַיָּם֙

 

הִ֣יא

she and her inhabitants

יוֹשְׁבֶֽיהָ׃

 

אֲשֶׁר

נָתְנ֥וּ

their terror

חִתִּיתָ֖ם

 

לְכָל

עַתָּה֙

tremble

יֶחְרְד֣וּ

Now shall the isles

הָאִיִּ֥ים

in the day

י֖וֹם

of thy fall

מַפַּלְתֵּ֑ךְ

shall be troubled

וְנִבְהֲל֛וּ

Now shall the isles

אֲשֶׁר

that are in the sea

בַּיָּ֖ם

at thy departure

מִצֵּאתֵֽךְ׃

 

כִּ֣י

 

כֹ֤ה

For thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

When I shall make

בְּתִתִּ֤י

 

אֹתָךְ֙

city

כֶּעָרִ֖ים

thee a desolate

נֶחֱרֶ֔בֶת

city

כֶּעָרִ֖ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹֽא

that are not inhabited

נוֹשָׁ֑בוּ

when I shall bring up

בְּהַעֲל֤וֹת

 

עָלַ֙יִךְ֙

 

אֶת

the deep

תְּה֔וֹם

shall cover

וְכִסּ֖וּךְ

waters

הַמַּ֥יִם

upon thee and great

הָרַבִּֽים׃

When I shall bring thee down

י֣וֹרְדֵי

 

אֶת

When I shall bring thee down

with the people

עַ֣ם

of old

מֵֽעוֹלָם֙

and shall set

תֵשֵׁ֑בִי

in the land

in places desolate

כָּחֳרָב֤וֹת

מֵֽעוֹלָם֙

When I shall bring thee down

י֣וֹרְדֵי

לְמַ֖עַן

 

לֹ֣א

and shall set

תֵשֵׁ֑בִי

and I shall set

וְנָתַתִּ֥י

glory

צְבִ֖י

in the land

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

of the living

חַיִּֽים׃

thee a terror

בַּלָּה֥וֹת

I will make

אֶתְּנֵ֖ךְ

 

וְאֵינֵ֑ךְ

and thou shalt be no more though thou be sought for

וּֽתְבֻקְשִׁ֗י

 

וְלֹֽא

be found

תִמָּצְאִ֥י

 

עוֹד֙

yet shalt thou never

לְעוֹלָ֔ם

again saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י
