בְּיַ֡עַן

Because they have made you desolate

שַׁמּוֹת֩

and swallowed you up

וְשָׁאֹ֨ף

 

אֶתְכֶ֜ם

on every side

מִסָּבִ֗יב

 

לִֽהְיוֹתְכֶ֤ם

that ye might be a possession

מֽוֹרָשָׁה֙

unto the residue

לִשְׁאֵרִ֣ית

of the heathen

הַגּוֹיִ֔ם

and ye are taken up

וַתֵּֽעֲל֛וּ

 

עַל

in the lips

שְׂפַ֥ת

of talkers

לָשׁ֖וֹן

and are an infamy

וְדִבַּת

of the people

עָֽם׃

 

לָכֵן֙

Therefore ye mountains

לֶהָרִ֨ים

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

hear

שִׁמְע֖וּ

the word

דְּבַר

of the Lord

Thus saith

Therefore ye mountains

לֶהָרִ֨ים

and to the hills

וְלַגְּבָע֜וֹת

to the rivers

לָאֲפִיקִ֣ים

and to the valleys

וְלַגֵּאָי֗וֹת

wastes

וְלֶחֳרָב֤וֹת

to the desolate

הַשֹּֽׁמְמוֹת֙

and to the cities

וְלֶעָרִ֣ים

that are forsaken

הַנֶּעֱזָב֔וֹת

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

 

הָי֤וּ

which became a prey

לְבַז֙

and derision

וּלְלַ֔עַג

to the residue

לִשְׁאֵרִ֥ית

of the heathen

הַגּוֹיִ֖ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that are round about

מִסָּבִֽיב׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּֽה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֮

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

 

יְהוִה֒

 

אִם

 

לֹ֠א

Surely in the fire

בְּאֵ֨שׁ

of my jealousy

קִנְאָתִ֥י

have I spoken

דִבַּ֛רְתִּי

 

עַל

against the residue

שְׁאֵרִ֥ית

of the heathen

הַגּוֹיִ֖ם

 

וְעַל

and against all Idumea

אֱד֣וֹם

 

כֻּלָּ֑א

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which have appointed

נָתְנֽוּ

 

אֶת

my land

אַרְצִ֣י׀

 

לָ֠הֶם

into their possession

לְמ֨וֹרָשָׁ֜ה

with the joy

בְּשִׂמְחַ֤ת

 

כָּל

of all their heart

לֵבָב֙

to cast it out

הִנָּבֵ֖א

 

עַל

therefore concerning the land

אַדְמַ֣ת

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר׀

unto the mountains

לֶהָרִ֣ים

and to the hills

וְ֠לַגְּבָעוֹת

to the rivers

לָאֲפִיקִ֨ים

and to the valleys

וְלַגֵּאָי֜וֹת

 

כֹּֽה

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר׀

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֗ה

 

הִנְנִ֨י

in my jealousy

בְקִנְאָתִ֤י

and in my fury

וּבַחֲמָתִי֙

Behold I have spoken

דִּבַּ֔רְתִּי

 

יַ֛עַן

the shame

כְּלִמַּ֥ת

of the heathen

גּוֹיִ֖ם

because ye have borne

נְשָׂאתֶֽם׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

אֲנִ֖י

I have lifted up

יִשָּֽׂאוּ׃

 

אֶת

mine hand

יָדִ֑י

 

אִם

 

לֹ֤א

Surely the heathen

הַגּוֹיִם֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לָכֶ֣ם

that are about

מִסָּבִ֔יב

 

הֵ֖מָּה

their shame

כְּלִמָּתָ֥ם

I have lifted up

יִשָּֽׂאוּ׃

 

וְאַתֶּ֞ם

But ye O mountains

הָרֵ֤י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

your branches

עַנְפְּכֶ֣ם

ye shall shoot forth

תִּתֵּ֔נוּ

your fruit

וּפֶרְיְכֶ֥ם

and yield

תִּשְׂא֖וּ

to my people

לְעַמִּ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

כִּ֥י

for they are at hand

קֵרְב֖וּ

to come

לָבֽוֹא׃

 

כִּ֖י

 

הִנְנִ֣י

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֑ם

For behold I am for you and I will turn

וּפָנִ֣יתִי

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

unto you and ye shall be tilled

וְנֶעֱבַדְתֶּ֖ם

and sown

וְנִזְרַעְתֶּֽם׃

And I will multiply

וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֤י

 

עֲלֵיכֶם֙

men

אָדָ֔ם

 

כָּל

upon you all the house

בֵּ֥ית

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

כֻּלֹּ֑ה

shall be inhabited

וְנֹֽשְׁבוּ֙

even all of it and the cities

הֶֽעָרִ֔ים

and the wastes

וְהֶחֳרָב֖וֹת

shall be builded

תִּבָּנֶֽינָה׃

And I will multiply

וְרָב֣וּ

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם

upon you man

אָדָ֥ם

and beast

וּבְהֵמָ֖ה

And I will multiply

וְרָב֣וּ

and bring fruit

וּפָר֑וּ

and I will settle

וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֨י

 

אֶתְכֶ֜ם

you after your old estates

כְּקַדְמֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם

and will do better

וְהֵיטִֽבֹתִי֙

unto you than at your beginnings

מֵרִאשֹׁ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

and ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

 

וְהוֹלַכְתִּי֩

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם

Yea I will cause men

אָדָ֜ם

 

אֶת

upon you even my people

עַמִּ֤י

Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

and they shall possess

וִֽירֵשׁ֔וּךָ

 

וְהָיִ֥יתָ

 

לָהֶ֖ם

thee and thou shalt be their inheritance

לְנַחֲלָ֑ה

 

וְלֹא

and thou shalt no more

תוֹסִ֥ף

 

ע֖וֹד

henceforth bereave

לְשַׁכְּלָֽם׃

 

כֹּ֤ה

Because they say

אֹמְרִ֣ים

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

יַ֚עַן

Because they say

אֹמְרִ֣ים

 

לָכֶ֔ם

unto you Thou land devourest up

אֹכֶ֥לֶת

and hast bereaved

Neither will I cause men to hear

וְחֶרְפַּ֥ת

and by their doings

וּבַעֲלִֽילוֹתָ֑ם

me as the uncleanness

כְּטֻמְאַת֙

of a removed woman

הַנִּדָּ֔ה

 

הָיְתָ֥ה

it by their own way

לְפָנָֽי׃

Wherefore I poured

שָׁפְכ֣וּ

my fury

חֲמָתִי֙

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם

 

עַל

upon them for the blood

הַדָּ֖ם

 

אֲשֶׁר

Wherefore I poured

שָׁפְכ֣וּ

 

עַל

upon the land

הָאָ֑רֶץ

and for their idols

וּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶ֖ם

wherewith they had polluted

טִמְּאֽוּהָ׃

And I scattered

them among the heathen

בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם

and they were dispersed

וַיִּזָּר֖וּ

through the countries

בָּאֲרָצ֑וֹת

according to their way

כְּדַרְכָּ֥ם

and according to their doings

וְכַעֲלִילוֹתָ֖ם

I judged

שְׁפַטְתִּֽים׃

And when they entered

בָּ֣אוּ

 

אֶל

unto the heathen

הַגּוֹיִם֙

 

אֲשֶׁר

And when they entered

בָּ֣אוּ

 

שָׁ֔ם

they profaned

וַֽיְחַלְּל֖וּ

 

אֶת

קָדְשִׁ֑י

when they said

And I will sanctify

בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י

 

בָכֶ֖ם

in you before their eyes

לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃

For I will take

וְלָקַחְתִּ֤י

 

אֶתְכֶם֙

you from among

מִן

the heathen

הַגּוֹיִ֔ם

and gather

וְקִבַּצְתִּ֥י

 

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

 

מִכָּל

you out of all countries

הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת

and will bring

וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י

 

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

 

אֶל

you into your own land

אַדְמַתְכֶֽם׃

Then will I sprinkle

וְזָרַקְתִּ֧י

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם

water

מַ֥יִם

clean

טְהוֹרִ֖ים

upon you and ye shall be clean

אֲטַהֵ֥ר

 

מִכֹּ֧ל

from all your filthiness

טֻמְאוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם

 

וּמִכָּל

and from all your idols

גִּלּ֥וּלֵיכֶ֖ם

upon you and ye shall be clean

אֲטַהֵ֥ר

also will I give

וְנָתַתִּ֥י

בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם

you and I will take away

I will also save

וְהוֹשַׁעְתִּ֣י

מִכֹּ֖ל

you from all your uncleannesses

טֻמְאֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

and I will call

וְקָרָ֤אתִי

 

אֶל

for the corn

הַדָּגָן֙

and will increase

וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י

 

אֹת֔וֹ

 

וְלֹא

it and lay

אֶתֵּ֥ן

 

עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם

no famine

רָעָֽב׃

And I will multiply

וְהִרְבֵּיתִי֙

הָעֵ֔ץ

and the increase

וּתְנוּבַ֖ת

הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה

רָעָ֖ב

Then shall ye remember

וּזְכַרְתֶּם֙

ways

your own evil

הָרָעִ֔ים

and your doings

וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹֽא

that were not good

טוֹבִ֑ים

and shall lothe

וּנְקֹֽטֹתֶם֙

yourselves in your own sight

בִּפְנֵיכֶ֔ם

 

עַ֚ל

for your iniquities

עֲוֹנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

 

וְעַ֖ל

and for your abominations

תּוֹעֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

 

לֹ֧א

 

לְמַעַנְכֶ֣ם

 

אֲנִֽי

Not for your sakes do

עֹשֶׂ֗ה

I this saith

נְאֻם֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

be it known

יִוָּדַ֖ע

 

לָכֶ֑ם

unto you be ashamed

בּ֧וֹשׁוּ

and confounded

וְהִכָּלְמ֛וּ

for your own ways

מִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֖ם

O house

בֵּ֥ית

Thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

In the day

בְּיוֹם֙

that I shall have cleansed

טַהֲרִ֣י

 

אֶתְכֶ֔ם

 

מִכֹּ֖ל

you from all your iniquities

עֲוֹנֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

I will also cause you to dwell

וְהֽוֹשַׁבְתִּי֙

 

אֶת

in the cities

הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים

shall be builded

וְנִבְנ֖וּ

and the wastes

הֶחֳרָבֽוֹת׃

וְהָאָ֥רֶץ

כְּגַן

of Eden

עֵ֑דֶן

cities

וְהֶעָרִ֧ים

and the waste

הֶחֳרֵב֛וֹת

and desolate

וְהַֽנְשַׁמּ֥וֹת

and ruined

וְהַנֶּהֱרָס֖וֹת

are become fenced

בְּצוּר֥וֹת

and are inhabited

יָשָֽׁבוּ׃

you shall know

וְיָדְע֣וּ

Then the heathen

הַגּוֹיִ֗ם

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

that are left

יִֽשָּׁאֲרוּ֮

round about

סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם֒

 

כִּ֣י׀

 

אֲנִ֣י

I the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

build

בָּנִ֙יתִי֙

the ruined

הַנֶּ֣הֱרָס֔וֹת

places and plant

נָטַ֖עְתִּי

that that was desolate

הַנְּשַׁמָּ֑ה

 

אֲנִ֥י

I the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי

it and I will do

וְעָשִֽׂיתִי׃
