and said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

 

הִנֵּ֛ה

Behold thy son

בִּנְךָ֥

Joseph

יוֹסֵ֖ף

cometh

בָּ֣א

 

אֵלֶ֑יךָ

strengthened

וַיִּתְחַזֵּק֙

unto thee and Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

himself and sat

וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב

 

עַל

upon the bed

הַמִּטָּֽה׃

said

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

And Jacob

יַֽעֲקֹב֙

 

אֶל

unto Joseph

יוֹסֵ֔ף

God

אֵ֥ל

Almighty

שַׁדַּ֛י

appeared

נִרְאָֽה

 

אֵלַ֥י

unto me at Luz

בְּל֖וּז

in the land

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

of Canaan

כְּנָ֑עַן

and blessed

וַיְבָ֖רֶךְ

 

אֹתִֽי׃

And said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

 

אֵלַ֗י

 

הִנְנִ֤י

unto me Behold I will make thee fruitful

מַפְרְךָ֙

and multiply

וְהִרְבִּיתִ֔ךָ

and will give

וְנָ֨תַתִּ֜י

of thee a multitude

לִקְהַ֣ל

of people

עַמִּ֑ים

and will give

וְנָ֨תַתִּ֜י

 

אֶת

this land

הָאָ֧רֶץ

 

הַזֹּ֛את

to thy seed

לְזַרְעֲךָ֥

after thee

אַֽחֲרֶ֖יךָ

possession

אֲחֻזַּ֥ת

for an everlasting

עוֹלָֽם׃

 

וְעַתָּ֡ה

And now thy two

שְׁנֵֽי

sons

בָנֶיךָ֩

which were born

הַנּֽוֹלָדִ֨ים

 

לְךָ֜

unto thee in the land

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֖יְמָה

before

עַד

I came

בֹּאִ֥י

 

אֵלֶ֛יךָ

of Egypt

מִצְרַ֖יְמָה

 

לִי

 

הֵ֑ם

Ephraim

אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙

and Manasseh

וּמְנַשֶּׁ֔ה

are mine as Reuben

כִּרְאוּבֵ֥ן

and Simeon

וְשִׁמְע֖וֹן

 

יִֽהְיוּ

 

לִֽי׃

And thy issue

וּמֽוֹלַדְתְּךָ֛

 

אֲשֶׁר

which thou begettest

הוֹלַ֥דְתָּ

after

אַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם

 

לְךָ֣

 

יִֽהְי֑וּ

after

עַ֣ל

the name

שֵׁ֧ם

of their brethren

אֲחֵיהֶ֛ם

them shall be thine and shall be called

יִקָּרְא֖וּ

in their inheritance

בְּנַֽחֲלָתָֽם׃

 

וַֽאֲנִ֣י׀

And as for me when I came

לָבֹ֣א

from Padan

מִפַּדָּ֗ן

died

מֵתָה֩

Rachel

of Canaan

כְּנַ֙עַן֙

in the way

And Joseph

unto his father

אָבִ֔יו

They are my sons

בָּנַ֣י

 

הֵ֔ם

 

אֲשֶׁר

hath given

נָֽתַן

 

לִ֥י

whom God

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

 

בָּזֶ֑ה

me in this place And he said

וַיֹּאמַ֕ר

Bring them

קָֽחֶם

 

נָ֥א

 

אֵלַ֖י

I pray thee unto me and I will bless

וַאֲבָרֲכֵֽם׃

Now the eyes

וְעֵינֵ֤י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

were dim

כָּֽבְד֣וּ

for age

מִזֹּ֔קֶן

 

לֹ֥א

so that he could

יוּכַ֖ל

not see

לִרְא֑וֹת

And he brought them near

וַיַּגֵּ֤שׁ

 

אֹתָם֙

 

אֵלָ֔יו

unto him and he kissed

וַיִּשַּׁ֥ק

 

לָהֶ֖ם

them and embraced

וַיְחַבֵּ֥ק

 

לָהֶֽם׃

said

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

And Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

 

אֶל

unto Joseph

יוֹסֵ֔ף

hath shewed

הֶרְאָ֥ה

thy face

פָנֶ֖יךָ

 

לֹ֣א

I had not thought

פִלָּ֑לְתִּי

 

וְהִנֵּ֨ה

hath shewed

הֶרְאָ֥ה

 

אֹתִ֛י

and lo God

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

 

גַּ֥ם

 

אֶת

me also thy seed

זַרְעֶֽךָ׃

brought them out

וַיּוֹצֵ֥א

And Joseph

יוֹסֵ֛ף

 

אֹתָ֖ם

from between

מֵעִ֣ם

his knees

בִּרְכָּ֑יו

and he bowed

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ

himself with his face

לְאַפָּ֖יו

to the earth

And he blessed

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

 

אֲשֶׁר֩

הִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ

whom my fathers

לְפָנָיו֙

Abraham

אַבְרָהָ֣ם

and Isaac

וְיִצְחָ֔ק

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

הָֽרֹעֶ֣ה

me all my life long

The Angel

הַמַּלְאָךְ֩

which redeemed

me from all evil

the lads

הַנְּעָרִים֒

וְיִקָּרֵ֤א

of my fathers

אֲבֹתַ֖י

Abraham

וַיְמָאֵ֣ן

And his father

אָבִ֗יו

and said

וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

I know

יָדַ֔עְתִּי

it my son

בְנִי֙

יִֽהְיֶה

it he also shall become a people

לְּעָ֖ם

 

וְגַם

and he also shall be great

יִגְדַּ֣ל

but truly

וְאוּלָ֗ם

brother

אָחִ֤יו

his younger

הַקָּטֹן֙

and he also shall be great

יִגְדַּ֣ל

 

מִמֶּ֔נּוּ

than he and his seed

וְזַרְע֖וֹ

 

יִֽהְיֶ֥ה

shall become a multitude

מְלֹֽא

of nations

הַגּוֹיִֽם׃

And he blessed

יְבָרֵ֤ךְ

them that day

בַּיּ֣וֹם

 

הַהוּא֮

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

 

בְּךָ֗

And he blessed

יְבָרֵ֤ךְ

In thee shall Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

and he set

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם

אֱלֹהִ֔ים

Manasseh

מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃

and he set

וַיָּ֥שֶׂם

Behold I die

וְהָיָ֤ה

אֱלֹהִים֙

 

עִמָּכֶ֔ם

shall be with you and bring you again

וְהֵשִׁ֣יב

 

אֶתְכֶ֔ם

 

אֶל

unto the land

אֶ֖רֶץ

of your fathers

אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃

 

וַֽאֲנִ֞י

Moreover I have given

נָתַ֧תִּֽי

 

לְךָ֛

portion

שְׁכֶ֥ם

to thee one

אַחַ֖ד

 

עַל

above thy brethren

אַחֶ֑יךָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

which I took

לָקַ֙חְתִּי֙

out of the hand

מִיַּ֣ד

of the Amorite

הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י

with my sword

בְּחַרְבִּ֖י

and with my bow

וּבְקַשְׁתִּֽי׃
