grievance

וְעָמָ֣ל

and cause me to behold

תַּבִּ֔יט

for spoiling

וְשֹׁ֥ד

and violence

וְחָמָ֖ס

 

לְנֶגְדִּ֑י

 

וַיְהִ֧י

strife

רִ֦יב

and contention

וּמָד֖וֹן

are before me and there are that raise up

יִשָּֽׂא׃

 

עַל

 

כֵּן֙

is slacked

תָּפ֣וּג

Therefore the law

תּוֹרָ֔ה

 

וְלֹֽא

go forth

יֵצֵ֥א

doth never

לָנֶ֖צַח

and judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֖ט

 

כִּ֤י

for the wicked

רָשָׁע֙

doth compass

מַכְתִּ֣יר

 

אֶת

about the righteous

הַצַּדִּ֔יק

 

עַל

 

כֵּ֛ן

go forth

יֵצֵ֥א

and judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֖ט

therefore wrong

מְעֻקָּֽל׃

Behold

רְא֤וּ

ye among the heathen

בַגּוֹיִם֙

and regard

וְֽהַבִּ֔יטוּ

and wonder

תְּמָ֑הוּ

and wonder

תְּמָ֑הוּ

 

כִּי

a work

פֹ֙עַל֙

for I will work

פֹּעֵ֣ל

in your days

בִּֽימֵיכֶ֔ם

 

לֹ֥א

which ye will not believe

תַאֲמִ֖ינוּ

 

כִּ֥י

though it be told

יְסֻפָּֽר׃

 

כִּֽי

 

הִנְנִ֤י

For lo I raise up

מֵקִים֙

 

אֶת

the Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים

nation

הַגּ֖וֹי

that bitter

הַמַּ֣ר

and hasty

וְהַנִּמְהָ֑ר

which shall march

הַֽהוֹלֵךְ֙

through the breadth

לְמֶרְחֲבֵי

of the land

אֶ֔רֶץ

to possess

לָרֶ֖שֶׁת

the dwellingplaces

מִשְׁכָּנ֥וֹת

 

לֹּא

 

לֽוֹ׃

They are terrible

אָיֹ֥ם

and dreadful

וְנוֹרָ֖א

 

ה֑וּא

 

מִמֶּ֕נּוּ

their judgment

מִשְׁפָּט֥וֹ

and their dignity

וּשְׂאֵת֖וֹ

shall proceed

יֵצֵֽא׃

also are swifter

וְקַלּ֨וּ

than the leopards

מִנְּמֵרִ֜ים

Their horses

סוּסָ֗יו

and are more fierce

וְחַדּוּ֙

wolves

מִזְּאֵ֣בֵי

than the evening

עֶ֔רֶב

shall spread

וּפָ֖שׁוּ

and their horsemen

וּפָֽרָשָׁיו֙

and their horsemen

וּפָֽרָשָׁיו֙

from far

מֵרָח֣וֹק

shall come

יָבֹ֔אוּ

they shall fly

יָעֻ֕פוּ

as the eagle

כְּנֶ֖שֶׁר

that hasteth

חָ֥שׁ

לֶאֱכֽוֹל׃

 

כֻּלֹּה֙

all for violence

לְחָמָ֣ס

They shall come

יָב֔וֹא

shall sup up

מְגַמַּ֥ת

their faces

פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם

as the east wind

קָדִ֑ימָה

and they shall gather

וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף

as the sand

כַּח֖וֹל

the captivity

שֶֽׁבִי׃

 

וְהוּא֙

at the kings

בַּמְּלָכִ֣ים

And they shall scoff

יִתְקַלָּ֔ס

and the princes

וְרֹזְנִ֖ים

shall be a scorn

מִשְׂחָ֣ק

 

ל֑וֹ

 

ה֚וּא

 

לְכָל

every strong hold

מִבְצָ֣ר

unto them they shall deride

יִשְׂחָ֔ק

for they shall heap

וַיִּצְבֹּ֥ר

dust

עָפָ֖ר

and take

וַֽיִּלְכְּדָֽהּ׃

 

אָ֣ז

change

חָלַ֥ף

Then shall his mind

ר֛וּחַ

and he shall pass over

וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר

and offend

וְאָשֵׁ֑ם

imputing this

ז֥וּ

his power

כֹח֖וֹ

unto his god

לֵאלֹהֽוֹ׃

 

הֲל֧וֹא

 

אַתָּ֣ה

Art thou not from everlasting

מִקֶּ֗דֶם

O LORD

יְהוָה֙

my God

אֱלֹהַ֛י

mine Holy One

קְדֹשִׁ֖י

 

לֹ֣א

we shall not die

נָמ֑וּת

O LORD

יְהוָה֙

them for judgment

לְמִשְׁפָּ֣ט

thou hast ordained

שַׂמְתּ֔וֹ

and O mighty God

וְצ֖וּר

them for correction

לְהוֹכִ֥יחַ

thou hast established

יְסַדְתּֽוֹ׃

Thou art of purer

טְה֤וֹר

eyes

עֵינַ֙יִם֙

than to behold

מֵרְא֣וֹת

evil

רָ֔ע

not look

תַבִּיט֙

 

אֶל

on iniquity

עָמָ֖ל

 

לֹ֣א

and canst

תוּכָ֑ל

 

לָ֤מָּה

not look

תַבִּיט֙

thou upon them that deal treacherously

בּֽוֹגְדִ֔ים

and holdest thy tongue

תַּחֲרִ֕ישׁ

devoureth

בְּבַלַּ֥ע

when the wicked

רָשָׁ֖ע

the man that is more righteous

צַדִּ֥יק

 

מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

And makest

וַתַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה

men

אָדָ֖ם

as the fishes

כִּדְגֵ֣י

of the sea

הַיָּ֑ם

as the creeping things

כְּרֶ֖מֶשׂ

 

לֹא

that have no ruler

מֹשֵׁ֥ל

 

בּֽוֹ׃

 

כֻּלֹּה֙

all of them with the angle

בְּחַכָּ֣ה

They take up

הֵֽעֲלָ֔ה

they catch

יְגֹרֵ֣הוּ

them in their net

בְחֶרְמ֔וֹ

and gather

וְיַאַסְפֵ֖הוּ

them in their drag

בְּמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ

 

עַל

 

כֵּ֖ן

therefore they rejoice

יִשְׂמַ֥ח

and are glad

וְיָגִֽיל׃

 

עַל

 

כֵּן֙

Therefore they sacrifice

יְזַבֵּ֣חַ

unto their net

לְחֶרְמ֔וֹ

and burn incense

וִֽיקַטֵּ֖ר

unto their drag

לְמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ

 

כִּ֤י

because by them

בָהֵ֙מָּה֙

is fat

שָׁמֵ֣ן

their portion

חֶלְק֔וֹ

and their meat

וּמַאֲכָל֖וֹ

plenteous

בְּרִאָֽה׃

 

הַ֥עַל

 

כֵּ֖ן

Shall they therefore empty

יָרִ֣יק

their net

חֶרְמ֑וֹ

continually

וְתָמִ֛יד

to slay

לַהֲרֹ֥ג

the nations

גּוֹיִ֖ם

 

לֹ֥א

and not spare

יַחְמֽוֹל׃
