כְּתֹ֣ב

the vision

חָז֔וֹן

and make it plain

וּבָאֵ֖ר

 

עַל

upon tables

הַלֻּח֑וֹת

 

לְמַ֥עַן

that he may run

יָר֖וּץ

that readeth

ק֥וֹרֵא

 

בֽוֹ׃

 

כִּ֣י

 

ע֤וֹד

For the vision

חָזוֹן֙

is yet for an appointed time

לַמּוֹעֵ֔ד

it shall speak

וְיָפֵ֥חַ

but at the end

לַקֵּ֖ץ

 

וְלֹ֣א

and not lie

יְכַזֵּ֑ב

 

אִם

though it tarry

יִתְמַהְמָהּ֙

wait

חַכֵּה

 

ל֔וֹ

 

כִּֽי

come

יָבֹ֖א

come

יָבֹ֖א

 

לֹ֥א

it will not tarry

יְאַחֵֽר׃

 

הִנֵּ֣ה

which is lifted up

עֻפְּלָ֔ה

 

לֹא

is not upright

יָשְׁרָ֥ה

Behold his soul

נַפְשׁ֖וֹ

 

בּ֑וֹ

in him but the just

וְצַדִּ֖יק

by his faith

בֶּאֱמוּנָת֥וֹ

shall live

יִחְיֶֽה׃

 

וְאַף֙

 

כִּֽי

by wine

הַיַּ֣יִן

Yea also because he transgresseth

בּוֹגֵ֔ד

man

גֶּ֥בֶר

he is a proud

יָהִ֖יר

 

וְלֹ֣א

neither keepeth at home

יִנְוֶ֑ה

 

אֲשֶׁר֩

who enlargeth

הִרְחִ֨יב

as hell

כִּשְׁא֜וֹל

his desire

נַפְשׁ֗וֹ

 

וְה֤וּא

and is as death

כַמָּ֙וֶת֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

and cannot be satisfied

יִשְׂבָּ֔ע

but gathereth

וַיֶּאֱסֹ֤ף

 

אֵלָיו֙

 

כָּל

unto him all nations

הַגּוֹיִ֔ם

and heapeth

וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ

 

אֵלָ֖יו

 

כָּל

unto him all people

הָעַמִּֽים׃

 

הֲלוֹא

 

אֵ֣לֶּה

 

כֻלָּ֗ם

 

עָלָיו֙

a parable

Shall not all these take up

יִשָּׂ֔אוּ

against him and a taunting

וּמְלִיצָ֖ה

וְיֹאמַ֗ר

Woe

ה֚וֹי

to him that increaseth

הַמַּרְבֶּ֣ה

 

לֹּא

עַד

 

מָתַ֕י

that which is not his! how long and to him that ladeth

וּמַכְבִּ֥יד

 

עָלָ֖יו

himself with thick clay

עַבְטִֽיט׃

 

הֲל֣וֹא

suddenly

פֶ֗תַע

Shall they not rise up

יָק֙וּמוּ֙

that shall bite

נֹשְׁכֶ֔יךָ

 

וְיִקְצ֖וּ

that shall vex

מְזַעְזְעֶ֑יךָ

 

וְהָיִ֥יתָ

thee and thou shalt be for booties

לִמְשִׁסּ֖וֹת

 

לָֽמוֹ׃

Because thou hast spoiled

יְשָׁלּ֖וּךָ

רַבִּ֔ים

יֶ֣תֶר

עַמִּ֑ים

מִדְּמֵ֤י

thee because of men's

אָדָם֙

and for the violence

וַחֲמַס

of the land

אֶ֔רֶץ

of the city

קִרְיָ֖ה

 

וְכָל

and of all that dwell

יֹ֥שְׁבֵי

 

בָֽהּ׃

Woe

ה֗וֹי

to him that coveteth

בֹּצֵ֛עַ

covetousness

בֶּ֥צַע

an evil

רָֽע׃

to his house

לְבֵית֑וֹ

that he may set

לָשׂ֤וּם

on high

בַּמָּרוֹם֙

his nest

קִנּ֔וֹ

that he may be delivered

לְהִנָּצֵ֖ל

from the power

מִכַּף

an evil

רָֽע׃

Thou hast consulted

יָעַ֥צְתָּ

shame

בֹּ֖שֶׁת

to thy house

לְבֵיתֶ֑ךָ

by cutting off

קְצוֹת

people

עַמִּ֥ים

many

רַבִּ֖ים

and hast sinned

וְחוֹטֵ֥א

against thy soul

נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃

 

כִּי

For the stone

אֶ֖בֶן

of the wall

מִקִּ֣יר

shall cry out

תִּזְעָ֑ק

and the beam out

וְכָפִ֖יס

of the timber

מֵעֵ֥ץ

shall answer

יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃

Woe

ה֛וֹי

to him that buildeth

בֹּנֶ֥ה

a town

עִ֖יר

with blood

בְּדָמִ֑ים

and stablisheth

וְכוֹנֵ֥ן

a city

קִרְיָ֖ה

by iniquity

בְּעַוְלָֽה׃

 

הֲל֣וֹא

 

הִנֵּ֔ה

 

מֵאֵ֖ת

Behold is it not of the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

of hosts

צְבָא֑וֹת

shall labour

וְיִֽיגְע֤וּ

that the people

עַמִּים֙

in the very

בְּדֵי

fire

אֵ֔שׁ

and the people

וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים

in the very

בְּדֵי

vanity

רִ֥יק

shall weary

יִעָֽפוּ׃

 

כִּ֚י

shall be filled

תִּמָּלֵ֣א

For the earth

הָאָ֔רֶץ

with the knowledge

לָדַ֖עַת

 

אֶת

of the glory

כְּב֣וֹד

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

as the waters

כַּמַּ֖יִם

cover

יְכַסּ֥וּ

 

עַל

the sea

יָֽם׃

Woe

ה֚וֹי

drink

מַשְׁקֵ֣ה

unto him that giveth his neighbour

רֵעֵ֔הוּ

that puttest

מְסַפֵּ֥חַ

thy bottle

חֲמָתְךָ֖

 

וְאַ֣ף

to him and makest him drunken

שַׁכֵּ֑ר

 

לְמַ֥עַן

also that thou mayest look

הַבִּ֖יט

 

עַל

on their nakedness

מְעוֹרֵיהֶֽם׃

Thou art filled

שָׂבַ֤עְתָּ

with shame

קָלוֹן֙

for glory

כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃

drink

שְׁתֵ֥ה

 

גַם

 

אַ֖תָּה

thou also and let thy foreskin be uncovered

וְהֵֽעָרֵ֑ל

shall be turned

תִּסּ֣וֹב

 

עָלֶ֗יךָ

the cup

כּ֚וֹס

right hand

יְמִ֣ין

of the LORD'S

יְהוָ֔ה

unto thee and shameful spewing

וְקִיקָל֖וֹן

 

עַל

for glory

כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃

 

כִּ֣י

For the violence

וַחֲמַס

of Lebanon

לְבָנוֹן֙

shall cover

יְכַסֶּ֔ךָּ

thee and the spoil

וְשֹׁ֥ד

of beasts

בְּהֵמ֖וֹת

which made them afraid

יְחִיתַ֑ן

blood

מִדְּמֵ֤י

because of men's

אָדָם֙

For the violence

וַחֲמַס

of the land

אֶ֔רֶץ

of the city

קִרְיָ֖ה

 

וְכָל

and of all that dwell

יֹ֥שְׁבֵי

 

בָֽהּ׃

 

מָֽה

What profiteth

הוֹעִ֣יל

the graven image

פֶּ֗סֶל

 

כִּ֤י

thereof hath graven

פְסָלוֹ֙

of his work

יֹֽצְר֔וֹ

it the molten image

מַסֵּכָ֖ה

and a teacher

וּמ֣וֹרֶה

of lies

שָּׁ֑קֶר

 

כִּ֣י

trusteth

בָטַ֞ח

that the maker

יִצְרוֹ֙

that the maker

יִצְרוֹ֙

 

עָלָ֔יו

therein to make

לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת

idols

אֱלִילִ֥ים

dumb

אִלְּמִֽים׃

Woe

ה֣וֹי

unto him that saith

אֹמֵ֤ר

to the wood

לָעֵץ֙

Awake

הָקִ֔יצָה

Arise

ע֖וּרִי

stone

לְאֶ֣בֶן

to the dumb

דּוּמָ֑ם

 

ה֣וּא

it shall teach

יוֹרֶ֔ה

 

הִנֵּה

 

ה֗וּא

Behold it is laid

תָּפוּשׂ֙

over with gold

זָהָ֣ב

and silver

וָכֶ֔סֶף

 

וְכָל

and there is no breath

ר֖וּחַ

 

אֵ֥ין

at all in the midst

בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃

But the LORD

וַֽיהוָ֖ה

temple

בְּהֵיכַ֣ל

is in his holy

קָדְשׁ֑וֹ

keep silence

הַ֥ס

before

מִפָּנָ֖יו

 

כָּל

let all the earth

הָאָֽרֶץ׃
