כִּ֤י

 

גַם

Yea the hind

אַיֶּ֙לֶת֙

in the field

בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה

also calved

יָלְדָ֖ה

and forsook

וְעָז֑וֹב

 

כִּ֥י

 

לֹֽא

 

הָיָ֖ה

it because there was no grass

דֶּֽשֶׁא׃

And the wild asses

וּפְרָאִים֙

did stand

עָמְד֣וּ

 

עַל

in the high places

שְׁפָיִ֔ם

they snuffed up

שָׁאֲפ֥וּ

the wind

ר֖וּחַ

like dragons

כַּתַּנִּ֑ים

did fail

כָּל֥וּ

their eyes

עֵינֵיהֶ֖ם

 

כִּי

 

אֵ֥ין

because there was no grass

עֵֽשֶׂב׃

 

אִם

though our iniquities

עֲוֹנֵ֙ינוּ֙

testify

עָ֣נוּ

 

בָ֔נוּ

O LORD

יְהוָ֕ה

against us do

עֲשֵׂ֖ה

 

לְמַ֣עַן

thou it for thy name's

שְׁמֶ֑ךָ

 

כִּֽי

are many

רַבּ֥וּ

sake for our backslidings

מְשׁוּבֹתֵ֖ינוּ

 

לְךָ֥

we have sinned

חָטָֽאנוּ׃

O the hope

מִקְוֵה֙

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

the saviour

מֽוֹשִׁיע֖וֹ

thereof in time

בְּעֵ֣ת

of trouble

צָרָ֑ה

 

לָ֤מָּה

 

תִֽהְיֶה֙

why shouldest thou be as a stranger

כְּגֵ֣ר

in the land

בָּאָ֔רֶץ

and as a wayfaring man

וּכְאֹרֵ֖חַ

that turneth aside

נָטָ֥ה

to tarry for a night

לָלֽוּן׃

 

לָ֤מָּה

 

תִֽהְיֶה֙

Why shouldest thou be as a man

כְּאִ֣ישׁ

astonied

נִדְהָ֔ם

as a mighty man

כְּגִבּ֖וֹר

 

לֹא

that cannot

יוּכַ֣ל

save

לְהוֹשִׁ֑יעַ

 

וְאַתָּ֧ה

art in the midst

בְקִרְבֵּ֣נוּ

yet thou O LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

by thy name

וְשִׁמְךָ֛

 

עָלֵ֥ינוּ

of us and we are called

נִקְרָ֖א

 

אַל

leave

תַּנִּחֵֽנוּ׃

 

כֹּֽה

Thus saith

אָמַ֨ר

the LORD

וַיהוָה֙

unto this people

לָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֗ה

 

כֵּ֤ן

Thus have they loved

אָֽהֲבוּ֙

to wander

לָנ֔וּעַ

their feet

רַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם

 

לֹ֣א

they have not refrained

חָשָׂ֑כוּ

the LORD

וַיהוָה֙

 

לֹ֣א

doth not accept

רָצָ֔ם

 

עַתָּה֙

them he will now remember

יִזְכֹּ֣ר

their iniquity

עֲוֹנָ֔ם

and visit

וְיִפְקֹ֖ד

their sins

חַטֹּאתָֽם׃

Then said

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אֵלָ֑י

 

אַל

unto me Pray

תִּתְפַּלֵּ֛ל

 

בְּעַד

not for this people

הָעָ֥ם

 

הַזֶּ֖ה

for their good

לְטוֹבָֽה׃

 

כִּ֣י

When they fast

יָצֻ֗מוּ

 

אֵינֶ֤נִּי

I will not hear

שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙

 

אֶל

their cry

רִנָּתָ֔ם

 

וְכִ֧י

and when they offer

יַעֲל֛וּ

burnt offering

עֹלָ֥ה

and an oblation

וּמִנְחָ֖ה

 

אֵינֶ֣נִּי

I will not accept

רֹצָ֑ם

 

כִּ֗י

them by the sword

בַּחֶ֙רֶב֙

and by the famine

וּבָרָעָ֣ב

and by the pestilence

וּבַדֶּ֔בֶר

 

אָנֹכִ֖י

them but I will consume

מְכַלֶּ֥ה

 

אוֹתָֽם׃

Then said

אֹמְרִ֤ים

I Ah

אֲהָ֣הּ׀

Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֗ה

 

הִנֵּ֨ה

behold the prophets

הַנְּבִאִ֜ים

Then said

אֹמְרִ֤ים

 

לָהֶם֙

 

לֹֽא

unto them Ye shall not see

תִרְא֣וּ

the sword

חֶ֔רֶב

neither shall ye have famine

וְרָעָ֖ב

 

לֹֽא

 

יִהְיֶ֣ה

 

לָכֶ֑ם

 

כִּֽי

peace

שְׁל֤וֹם

you assured

אֱמֶת֙

but I will give

אֶתֵּ֣ן

 

לָכֶ֔ם

in this place

בַּמָּק֖וֹם

 

הַזֶּֽה׃

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

Then the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

lies

שֶׁ֜קֶר

unto me The prophets

הַנְּבִאִים֙

prophesy

מִֽתְנַבְּאִ֥ים

in my name

בִּשְׁמִ֔י

 

לֹ֤א

I sent

שְׁלַחְתִּים֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

them not neither have I commanded

צִוִּיתִ֔ים

 

וְלֹ֥א

them neither spake

דִבַּ֖רְתִּי

 

אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם

vision

חֲז֨וֹן

lies

שֶׁ֜קֶר

and divination

וְקֶ֤סֶם

and a thing of nought

וֶֽאֱלִול֙

and the deceit

וְתַרְמִ֣ות

of their heart

לִבָּ֔ם

 

הֵ֖מָּה

prophesy

מִֽתְנַבְּאִ֥ים

 

לָכֶֽם׃

 

לָכֵ֞ן

Therefore thus saith

אֹֽמְרִ֔ים

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

עַֽל

concerning the prophets

הַנְּבִאִ֖ים

that prophesy

הַנִּבְּאִ֣ים

in my name

בִּשְׁמִי֮

 

וַאֲנִ֣י

 

לֹֽא

and I sent

שְׁלַחְתִּים֒

 

וְהֵ֙מָּה֙

Therefore thus saith

אֹֽמְרִ֔ים

By sword

בַּחֶ֤רֶב

and famine

וּבָֽרָעָב֙

 

לֹ֥א

 

יִהְיֶ֖ה

shall not be in this land

בָּאָ֣רֶץ

 

הַזֹּ֑את

By sword

בַּחֶ֤רֶב

and famine

וּבָֽרָעָב֙

be consumed

יִתַּ֔מּוּ

concerning the prophets

הַנְּבִאִ֖ים

 

הָהֵֽמָּה׃

And the people

וְהָעָ֣ם

 

אֲשֶׁר

them

הֵ֣מָּה

to whom they prophesy

נִבְּאִ֣ים

them

הֵ֣מָּה

 

יִֽהְי֣וּ

shall be cast out

מֻשְׁלָכִים֩

in the streets

בְּחֻצ֨וֹת

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם

because

מִפְּנֵ֣י׀

of the famine

הָרָעָ֣ב

and the sword

וְהַחֶ֗רֶב

 

וְאֵ֤ין

and they shall have none to bury

מְקַבֵּר֙

them

הֵ֣מָּה

them

הֵ֣מָּה

them their wives

נְשֵׁיהֶ֔ם

nor their sons

וּבְנֵיהֶ֖ם

nor their daughters

וּבְנֹֽתֵיהֶ֑ם

for I will pour

וְשָׁפַכְתִּ֥י

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

 

אֶת

their wickedness

רָעָתָֽם׃

Therefore thou shalt say

וְאָמַרְתָּ֤

 

אֲלֵיהֶם֙

unto them Let mine eyes

דִּמְעָ֛ה

is broken

שֶׁ֨בֶר

with a great

גָּד֜וֹל

breach

נִשְׁבְּרָ֗ה

for the virgin

בְּתוּלַת֙

daughter

בַּת

of my people

עַמִּ֔י

blow

מַכָּ֖ה

grievous

נַחְלָ֥ה

with a very

מְאֹֽד׃

 

אִם

If I go forth

יָצָ֣אתִי

into the field

הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה

 

וְהִנֵּה֙

then behold the slain

חַלְלֵי

with the sword

חֶ֔רֶב

 

וְאִם֙

and if I enter

בָּ֣אתִי

into the city

הָעִ֔יר

 

וְהִנֵּ֖ה

then behold them that are sick

תַּחֲלוּאֵ֣י

with famine

רָעָ֑ב

 

כִּֽי

 

גַם

yea both the prophet

נָבִ֧יא

and the priest

כֹּהֵ֛ן

go about

סָחֲר֥וּ

 

אֶל

into a land

אֶ֖רֶץ

 

וְלֹ֥א

that they know

יָדָֽעוּ׃

לָ֖נוּ

of healing

מַרְפֵּ֖א

for us we looked

קַוֵּ֤ה

for peace

לְשָׁלוֹם֙

 

וְאֵ֣ין

and there is no good

ט֔וֹב

and for the time

וּלְעֵ֥ת

of healing

מַרְפֵּ֖א

 

וְהִנֵּ֥ה

and behold trouble

בְעָתָֽה׃

We acknowledge

יָדַ֧עְנוּ

O LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

our wickedness

רִשְׁעֵ֖נוּ

and the iniquity

עֲוֹ֣ן

of our fathers

אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ

 

כִּ֥י

for we have sinned

חָטָ֖אנוּ

 

לָֽךְ׃

Do not abhor

תִּנְאַץ֙

 

לְמַ֣עַן

us for thy name's

שִׁמְךָ֔

 

אַל

sake do not disgrace

תְּנַבֵּ֖ל

the throne

כִּסֵּ֣א

of thy glory

כְבוֹדֶ֑ךָ

remember

זְכֹ֕ר

 

אַל

break

תָּפֵ֥ר

not thy covenant

בְּרִֽיתְךָ֖

 

אִתָּֽנוּ׃

Are there

הֲיֵ֨שׁ

any among the vanities

בְּהַבְלֵ֤י

of the Gentiles

הַגּוֹיִם֙

that can cause rain

מַגְשִׁמִ֔ים

 

וְאִם

or can the heavens

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

give

יִתְּנ֣וּ

showers

רְבִבִ֑ים

 

הֲלֹ֨א

 

אַתָּה
