וְקָנִ֤יתָ

thee a linen

פִּשְׁתִּ֔ים

and put

וְשַׂמְתּ֖וֹ

it upon thy loins

תְבִאֵֽהוּ׃

So I got

וָאֶקְנֶ֥ה

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

וָאָשִׂ֖ם

 

עַל

it on my loins

מָתְנָֽי׃

 

וַיְהִ֧י

And the word

דְבַר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

 

אֵלַ֖י

came unto me the second time

שֵׁנִ֥ית

saying

לֵאמֹֽר׃

Take

קַ֧ח

 

אֶת

the girdle

הָאֵז֛וֹר

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that thou hast got

קָנִ֖יתָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

עַל

which is upon thy loins

מָתְנֶ֑יךָ

and arise

וְקוּם֙

 

לֵ֣ךְ

to Euphrates

פְּרָ֔תָה

and hide

וְטָמְנֵ֥הוּ

 

שָׁ֖ם

it there in a hole

בִּנְקִ֥יק

of the rock

הַסָּֽלַע׃

 

וָאֵלֵ֕ךְ

and hid

וָאֶטְמְנֵ֖הוּ

it by Euphrates

בִּפְרָ֑ת

 

כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר

commanded

צִוָּ֥ה

as the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אוֹתִֽי׃

 

וַיְהִ֕י

And it came to pass after

מִקֵּ֖ץ

days

יָמִ֣ים

many

רַבִּ֑ים

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

that the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

 

אֵלַ֗י

unto me Arise

ק֚וּם

 

לֵ֣ךְ

to Euphrates

פְּרָ֔תָה

and take

וְקַ֤ח

 

מִשָּׁם֙

 

אֶת

the girdle

הָ֣אֵז֔וֹר

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

from thence which I commanded

צִוִּיתִ֖יךָ

thee to hide

לְטָמְנוֹ

 

שָֽׁם׃

 

וָאֵלֵ֣ךְ

to Euphrates

פְּרָ֔תָה

and digged

וָאֶחְפֹּ֗ר

and took

וָֽאֶקַּח֙

 

אֶת

it and behold the girdle

הָאֵז֔וֹר

 

מִן

from the place

הַמָּק֖וֹם

 

אֲשֶׁר

where I had hid

טְמַנְתִּ֣יו

 

שָׁ֑מָּה

 

וְהִנֵּה֙

was marred

נִשְׁחַ֣ת

it and behold the girdle

הָאֵז֔וֹר

 

לֹ֥א

it was profitable

יִצְלַ֖ח

 

לַכֹּֽל׃

 

וַיְהִ֥י

Then the word

דְבַר

of the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אֵלַ֥י

came unto me saying

לֵאמֹֽר׃

 

כֹּ֖ה

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

כָּ֠כָה

After this manner will I mar

אַשְׁחִ֞ית

 

אֶת

pride

גְּא֥וֹן

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֛ה

 

וְאֶת

pride

גְּא֥וֹן

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

and the great

הָרָֽב׃

people

הָעָם֩

 

הַזֶּ֨ה

This evil

הָרָ֜ע

which refuse

הַֽמֵּאֲנִ֣ים׀

to hear

לִשְׁמ֣וֹעַ

 

אֶת

my words

דְּבָרַ֗י

which walk

וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ

in the imagination

בִּשְׁרִר֣וּת

of their heart

לִבָּ֔ם

which walk

וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ

after

אַֽחֲרֵי֙

gods

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

other

אֲחֵרִ֔ים

to serve

לְעָבְדָ֖ם

them and to worship

וּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת

 

לָהֶ֑ם

 

וִיהִי֙

them shall even be as this girdle

כָּאֵז֣וֹר

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that they might be unto me for a people

לְעָ֔ם

and for a name

וּלְשֵׁ֥ם

and for a praise

וְלִתְהִלָּ֖ה

and for a glory

וּלְתִפְאָ֑רֶת

 

וְלֹ֖א

but they would not hear

שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃

Therefore thou shalt speak

וְאָמְר֣וּ

 

אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם

הַדָּבָ֣ר

even the kings

הַמְּלָכִ֣ים

all the inhabitants

upon David's

לְדָוִ֨ד

 

עַל

throne

כִּסְא֜וֹ

 

וְאֶת

and the priests

הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים

 

וְאֶת

and the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֗ים

 

וְאֵ֛ת

 

כָּל

all the inhabitants

יֹשְׁבֵ֥י

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֖ם

with drunkenness

שִׁכָּרֽוֹן׃

And I will dash

וְנִפַּצְתִּים֩

them one

אִ֨ישׁ

 

אֶל

against another

אָחִ֜יו

even the fathers

וְהָאָב֧וֹת

and the sons

וְהַבָּנִ֛ים

together

יַחְדָּ֖ו

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

לֹֽא

I will not pity

אֶחְמ֧וֹל

 

וְלֹֽא

nor spare

אָח֛וּס

 

וְלֹ֥א

nor have mercy

אֲרַחֵ֖ם

but destroy

מֵהַשְׁחִיתָֽם׃

Hear

שִׁמְע֥וּ

ye and give ear

וְהַאֲזִ֖ינוּ

 

אַל

be not proud

תִּגְבָּ֑הוּ

 

כִּ֥י

for the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

hath spoken

דִּבֵּֽר׃

Give

תְּנוּ֩

to the LORD

לַיהוָ֨ה

your God

אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֤ם

glory

כָּבוֹד֙

 

בְּטֶ֣רֶם

before he cause darkness

יַחְשִׁ֔ךְ

 

וּבְטֶ֛רֶם

stumble

יִֽתְנַגְּפ֥וּ

and before your feet

רַגְלֵיכֶ֖ם

 

עַל

mountains

הָ֣רֵי

upon the dark

נָ֑שֶׁף

and while ye look

וְקִוִּיתֶ֤ם

for light

לְאוֹר֙

he turn

וְשָׂמָ֣הּ

it into the shadow of death

לְצַלְמָ֔וֶת

and make

יְשִׁ֖ית

it gross darkness

לַעֲרָפֶֽל׃

 

וְאִם֙

 

לֹ֣א

But if ye will not hear

תִשְׁמָע֔וּהָ

in secret places

בְּמִסְתָּרִ֥ים

shall weep

תִּבְכֶּֽה

it my soul

נַפְשִׁ֖י

for

מִפְּנֵ֣י

your pride

גֵוָ֑ה

shall weep

תִּדְמַ֜ע

shall weep

תִּדְמַ֜ע

and run down

וְתֵרַ֤ד

and mine eye

עֵינִי֙

with tears

דִּמְעָ֔ה

 

כִּ֥י

is carried away captive

נִשְׁבָּ֖ה

flock

עֵ֥דֶר

because the LORD'S

יְהוָֽה׃

Say

אֱמֹ֥ר

unto the king

לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ

and to the queen

וְלַגְּבִירָ֖ה

Humble

הַשְׁפִּ֣ילוּ

yourselves sit down

שֵׁ֑בוּ

 

כִּ֤י

shall come down

יָרַד֙

for your principalities

מַרְאֲשׁ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם

even the crown

עֲטֶ֖רֶת

of your glory

תִּֽפְאַרְתְּכֶֽם׃

The cities

עָרֵ֥י

of the south

הַנֶּ֛גֶב

shall be shut up

סֻגְּר֖וּ

 

וְאֵ֣ין

and none shall open

פֹּתֵ֑חַ

carried away captive

הָגְלָ֥ת

them Judah

יְהוּדָ֛ה

 

כֻּלָּ֖הּ

carried away captive

הָגְלָ֥ת

all of it it shall be wholly

שְׁלוֹמִֽים׃

Lift up

שְׂא֤יּ

your eyes

עֵֽינֵיכֶם֙

and behold

וּרְא֔יּ

them that come

הַבָּאִ֖ים

from the north

מִצָּפ֑וֹן

 

אַיֵּ֗ה

where is the flock

הָעֵ֙דֶר֙

that was given

נִתַּן

 

לָ֔ךְ

flock

צֹ֖אן

thee thy beautiful

תִּפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃

 

מַה

What wilt thou say

תֹּֽאמְרִי֙

 

כִּֽי

when he shall punish

יִפְקֹ֣ד

 

עָלַ֔יִךְ

 

וְ֠אַתְּ

thee for thou hast taught

לִמַּ֨דְתְּ

 

אֹתָ֥ם

 

עָלַ֛יִךְ

them to be captains

אַלֻּפִ֖ים

and as chief

לְרֹ֑אשׁ

 

הֲל֤וֹא

over thee shall not sorrows

חֲבָלִים֙

take

יֹאחֱז֔וּךְ

 

כְּמ֖וֹ

thee as a woman

אֵ֥שֶׁת

in travail

לֵדָֽה׃

 

וְכִ֤י

And if thou say

תֹאמְרִי֙

in thine heart

בִּלְבָבֵ֔ךְ

 

מַדּ֖וּעַ

Wherefore come

קְרָאֻ֣נִי

 

אֵ֑לֶּה

these things upon me For the greatness

בְּרֹ֧ב

of thine iniquity

עֲוֹנֵ֛ךְ

discovered

נִגְל֥וּ

are thy skirts

שׁוּלַ֖יִךְ

made bare

נֶחְמְס֥וּ

and thy heels

עֲקֵבָֽיִךְ׃

change

הֲיַהֲפֹ֤ךְ

Can the Ethiopian

כּוּשִׁי֙

his skin

עוֹר֔וֹ

or the leopard

וְנָמֵ֖ר

his spots

חֲבַרְבֻּרֹתָ֑יו

 

גַּם

 

אַתֶּם֙

then may

תּוּכְל֣וּ

ye also do good

לְהֵיטִ֔יב

that are accustomed

לִמֻּדֵ֖י

to do evil

הָרֵֽעַ׃

Therefore will I scatter

וַאֲפִיצֵ֖ם

them as the stubble

כְּקַשׁ

that passeth away

עוֹבֵ֑ר

by the wind

לְר֖וּחַ

of the wilderness

מִדְבָּֽר׃

 

זֶ֣ה

This is thy lot

גוֹרָלֵ֧ךְ

the portion

מְנָת

of thy measures

מִדַּ֛יִךְ

 

מֵֽאִתִּ֖י

from me saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

אֲשֶׁר֙

because thou hast forgotten

שָׁכַ֣חַתְּ

 

אוֹתִ֔י

me and trusted

וַֽתִּבְטְחִ֖י

in falsehood

בַּשָּֽׁקֶר׃

 

וְגַם

 

אֲנִ֛י

Therefore will I discover

חָשַׂ֥פְתִּי

thy skirts

שׁוּלַ֖יִךְ

 

עַל

upon thy face

פָּנָ֑יִךְ

may appear

וְנִרְאָ֖ה

that thy shame

קְלוֹנֵֽךְ׃

thine adulteries

נִֽאֻפַ֤יִךְ

and thy neighings

וּמִצְהֲלוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙

the lewdness

זִמַּ֣ת

of thy whoredom

זְנוּתֵ֔ךְ

 

עַל

on the hills

גְּבָעוֹת֙

in the fields

בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה

I have seen

רָאִ֖יתִי

and thine abominations

שִׁקּוּצָ֑יִךְ

Woe

א֥וֹי

 

לָךְ֙

unto thee O Jerusalem

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

 

לֹ֣א

wilt thou not be made clean

תִטְהֲרִ֔י

 

אַחֲרֵ֥י

 

מָתַ֖י

when shall it once
