out of Egypt

מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם

וַיִּשְׁמְע֨וּ

and when the Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֜ים

that besieged

הַצָּרִ֤ים

 

עַל

Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

שִׁמְעָ֔ם

of them they departed

וַיֵּ֣עָל֔וּ

 

מֵעַ֖ל

Then came the word

דְּבַר

of the LORD

הַנָּבִ֖יא

saying

Thus saith

תֹֽאמְרוּ֙

the LORD

יְהוָה֙

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

אֶל

to the king

מֶ֣לֶךְ

of Judah

הַשֹּׁלֵ֧חַ

 

אֶתְכֶ֛ם

 

אֵלַ֖י

you unto me to enquire

לְדָרְשֵׁ֑נִי

 

הִנֵּ֣ה׀

army

חֵ֣יל

of me Behold Pharaoh's

פַּרְעֹ֗ה

which is come forth

הַיֹּצֵ֤א

 

לָכֶם֙

to help

לְעֶזְרָ֔ה

you shall return

שָׁ֥ב

into their own land

לְאַרְצ֖וֹ

to Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

shall come again

וְשָׁ֙בוּ֙

And the Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים

and fight

וְנִלְחֲמ֖וּ

 

עַל

against this city

הָעִ֣יר

 

הַזֹּ֑את

and take

וּלְכָדֻ֖הָ

it and burn

וּשְׂרָפֻ֥הָ

it with fire

בָאֵֽשׁ׃

 

כֹּ֣ה׀

Thus saith

לֵאמֹ֔ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

אַל

Deceive

תַּשִּׁ֤אוּ

not yourselves

נַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙

Thus saith

לֵאמֹ֔ר

shall surely

יֵלֵֽכוּ׃

shall surely

יֵלֵֽכוּ׃

 

מֵעָלֵ֖ינוּ

The Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֑ים

 

כִּי

 

לֹ֖א

shall surely

יֵלֵֽכוּ׃

For though ye had smitten

הִכִּיתֶ֞ם

חֵ֤יל

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּים֙

that fight

הַנִּלְחָמִ֣ים

 

אִתְּכֶ֔ם

against you and there remained

וְנִ֨שְׁאֲרוּ

 

בָ֔ם

every man

אִ֤ישׁ

but wounded

מְדֻקָּרִ֑ים

every man

אִ֤ישׁ

in his tent

בְּאָהֳלוֹ֙

among them yet should they rise up

יָק֔וּמוּ

and burn

וְשָֽׂרְפ֛וּ

הָעִ֥יר

בְּהֵֽעָלוֹת֙

And it came to pass that when the army

from Jerusalem

for fear

מִפְּנֵ֖י

And it came to pass that when the army

of Pharaoh's

פַּרְעֹֽה׃

went forth

Then Jeremiah

יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙

out of Jerusalem

מִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

 

לָלֶ֖כֶת

into the land

אֶ֣רֶץ

of Benjamin

בִּנְיָמִ֑ן

to separate

לַחֲלִ֥ק

 

מִשָּׁ֖ם

himself thence in the midst

And when he was in the gate

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים

 

וְלֹ֥א

But he hearkened

שָׁמַ֖ע

 

אֵלָ֑יו

took

וַיִּתְפֹּ֤שׂ

not to him so Irijah

יִרְאִיָּיה֙

Jeremiah

בְּיִרְמְיָ֔הוּ

and brought

וַיְבִאֵ֖הוּ

 

אֶל

him to the princes

הַשָּׂרִֽים׃

were wroth

וַיִּקְצְפ֧וּ

Wherefore the princes

הַשָּׂרִ֛ים

 

עַֽל

with Jeremiah

יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ

and smote

וְהִכּ֣וּ

him and put

וְנָתְנ֨וּ

צִדְקִיָּ֜הוּ

and took him out

וַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּ

asked

וַיִּשְׁאָלֵ֨הוּ

and the king

מֶֽלֶךְ

in his house

בְּבֵיתוֹ֙

him secretly

בַּסֵּ֔תֶר

and said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

There is

יֵ֔שׁ

Is there any word

דָּבָ֖ר

 

מֵאֵ֣ת

from the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

and said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

And Jeremiah

יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙

There is

יֵ֔שׁ

and said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

into the hand

בְּיַ֥ד

and the king

מֶֽלֶךְ

of Babylon

בָּבֶ֖ל

he thou shalt be delivered

תִּנָּתֵֽן׃

said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

Moreover Jeremiah

יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ

 

אֶל

unto king

הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

Zedekiah

צִדְקִיָּ֑הוּ

What have I offended

חָטָ֨אתִֽי

 

לְךָ֤

against thee or against thy servants

וְלַעֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙

or against this people

וְלָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

 

כִּֽי

that ye have put

נְתַתֶּ֥ם

 

אוֹתִ֖י

 

אֶל

me in prison

בֵּ֥ית

 

הַכֶּֽלֶא׃

Where are now

וְאַיֵּו֙

your prophets

נְבִ֣יאֵיכֶ֔ם

 

אֲשֶׁר

which prophesied

נִבְּא֥וּ

 

לָכֶ֖ם

unto you saying

shall not come

Therefore hear

שְֽׁמַֽע

 

נָ֖א

now I pray thee O my lord

אֲדֹנִ֣י

הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ

I pray thee be accepted

תִּפָּל

 

נָ֤א

let my supplication

תְחִנָּתִי֙

before

לְפָנֶ֔יךָ

 

וְאַל

thee that thou cause me not to return

תְּשִׁבֵ֗נִי

to the house

בֵּ֚ית

of Jonathan

יְהוֹנָתָ֣ן

the scribe

הַסֹּפֵ֔ר

 

וְלֹ֥א

lest I die

אָמ֖וּת

 

שָֽׁם׃
