O LORD

And the children

בְּנֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

them of our daughters

And they said

וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ

וַיִּתְפָּקֵ֖ד

For the people

הָעָ֑ם

 

וְהִנֵּ֤ה

and behold there were none

אִ֔ישׁ

of the inhabitants

מִיּֽוֹשְׁבֵ֖י

of Jabeshgilead

יָבֵ֥שׁ

And the congregation

הָֽעֵדָ֗ה

and commanded

And this is the thing

הַדָּבָ֖ר

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

that ye shall do

תַּֽעֲשׂ֑וּ

זָכָ֖ר

and every woman

אִשָּׁ֛ה

by man

יֹדַ֥עַת

that hath lain

מִשְׁכַּב

זָכָ֖ר

Ye shall utterly destroy

תַּֽחֲרִֽימוּ׃

And they found

וַֽיִּמְצְא֞וּ

among the inhabitants

מִיּֽוֹשְׁבֵ֣י׀

of Jabeshgilead

יָבֵ֣ישׁ

and to call

And Benjamin

and yet so they sufficed

because that the LORD

in the tribes

בְּשִׁבְטֵ֥י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

said

וַיֹּֽאמְר֨וּ

Then the elders

זִקְנֵ֣י

of the congregation

הָֽעֵדָ֔ה

 

מַה

How shall we do

נַּֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה

for them that remain

לַנּֽוֹתָרִ֖ים

אִשָּֽׁה׃

 

כִּֽי

are destroyed

נִשְׁמְדָ֥ה

Therefore they commanded

וַיצַוֻּ֕

לֵאמֹ֑ר

 

לְכ֖וּ

and lie in wait

וַֽאֲרַבְתֶּ֥ם

in the vineyards

בַּכְּרָמִֽים׃

And see

וּרְאִיתֶ֗ם

 

וְ֠הִנֵּה

 

אִם

come out

וִֽיצָאתֶם֙

and behold if the daughters

מִבְּנ֣וֹת

of Shiloh

שִׁיל֑וֹ

to dance

לָח֣וּל

in dances

בַּמְּחֹלוֹת֒

come out

וִֽיצָאתֶם֙

 

מִן

of the vineyards

הַכְּרָמִ֔ים

and catch

וַֽחֲטַפְתֶּ֥ם

 

לָכֶ֛ם

you every man

אִ֥ישׁ

his wife

אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ

and behold if the daughters

מִבְּנ֣וֹת

of Shiloh

שִׁיל֑וֹ

and go

וַֽהֲלַכְתֶּ֖ם

to the land

אֶ֥רֶץ

of Benjamin

בִּנְיָמִֽן׃

 

וְהָיָ֡ה

 

כִּֽי

come

יָבֹ֣אוּ

And it shall be when their fathers

אֲבוֹתָם֩

 

א֨וֹ

or their brethren

אֲחֵיהֶ֜ם

unto us to complain

לָרִ֣וֹב׀

 

אֵלֵ֗ינוּ

that we will say

וְאָמַ֤רְנוּ

 

אֲלֵיהֶם֙

unto them Be favourable

חָנּ֣וּנוּ

 

אוֹתָ֔ם

 

כִּ֣י

 

לֹ֥א

unto them for our sakes because we reserved

לָקַ֛חְנוּ

וַיֵּֽלְכ֗וּ

and returned

unto their inheritance

נַ֣חֲלָתָ֔ם

and repaired

וַיִּבְנוּ֙

and dwelt

In those days

הַיָּשָׁ֥ר

In those days
