נָא֙

I pray you O heads

רָאשֵׁ֣י

of Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

and ye princes

וּקְצִינֵ֖י

of the house

בֵּ֣ית

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

הֲל֣וֹא

 

לָכֶ֔ם

Is it not for you to know

לָדַ֖עַת

 

אֶת

judgment

הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃

Who hate

שֹׂ֥נְאֵי

the good

ט֖וֹב

and love

וְאֹ֣הֲבֵי

the evil

רָ֑עה

who pluck off

גֹּזְלֵ֤י

their skin

עוֹרָם֙

 

מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם

from off them and their flesh

וּשְׁאֵרָ֖ם

 

מֵעַ֥ל

from off their bones

עַצְמוֹתָֽם׃

 

וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר

Who also eat

אָכְלוּ֮

the flesh

שְׁאֵ֣ר

of my people

עַמִּי֒

their skin

וְעוֹרָם֙

 

מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם

and flay

הִפְשִׁ֔יטוּ

 

וְאֶת

their bones

עַצְמֹֽתֵיהֶ֖ם

from off them and they break

פִּצֵּ֑חוּ

and chop them in pieces

וּפָרְשׂוּ֙

 

כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר

as for the pot

בַּסִּ֔יר

and as flesh

וּכְבָשָׂ֖ר

within

בְּת֥וֹךְ

the caldron

קַלָּֽחַת׃

 

אָ֚ז

Then shall they cry

יִזְעֲק֣וּ

 

אֶל

unto the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

וְלֹ֥א

but he will not hear

יַעֲנֶ֖ה

 

אוֹתָ֑ם

them he will even hide

וְיַסְתֵּ֨ר

his face

פָּנָ֤יו

 

מֵהֶם֙

from them at that time

בָּעֵ֣ת

 

הַהִ֔יא

 

כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר

as they have behaved themselves ill

הֵרֵ֖עוּ

in their doings

מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

 

כֹּ֚ה

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

עַל

concerning the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים

err

הַמַּתְעִ֣ים

 

אֶת

that make my people

עַמִּ֑י

that bite

הַנֹּשְׁכִ֤ים

with their teeth

בְּשִׁנֵּיהֶם֙

and cry

וְקָרְא֣וּ

Peace

שָׁל֔וֹם

 

וַאֲשֶׁר֙

 

לֹא

and he that putteth

יִתֵּ֣ן

 

עַל

not into their mouths

פִּיהֶ֔ם

they even prepare

וְקִדְּשׁ֥וּ

 

עָלָ֖יו

war

מִלְחָמָֽה׃

 

לָכֵ֞ן

Therefore night

לַ֤יְלָה

 

לָכֶם֙

shall be unto you that ye shall not have a vision

מֵֽחָז֔וֹן

and it shall be dark

וְחָשְׁכָ֥ה

 

לָכֶ֖ם

unto you that ye shall not divine

מִקְּסֹ֑ם

shall go down

וּבָ֤אָה

and the sun

הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙

 

עַל

over the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים

shall be dark

וְקָדַ֥ר

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם

and the day

הַיּֽוֹם׃

be ashamed

וּבֹ֣שׁוּ

Then shall the seers

הַחֹזִ֗ים

confounded

וְחָֽפְרוּ֙

and the diviners

הַקֹּ֣סְמִ֔ים

yea they shall all cover

וְעָט֥וּ

 

עַל

their lips

שָׂפָ֖ם

 

כֻּלָּ֑ם

 

כִּ֛י

 

אֵ֥ין

for there is no answer

מַעֲנֵ֖ה

of God

אֱלֹהִֽים׃

But truly

וְאוּלָ֗ם

 

אָנֹכִ֞י

I am full

מָלֵ֤אתִי

of power

כֹ֙חַ֙

 

אֶת

by the spirit

ר֣וּחַ

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and of judgment

וּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט

and of might

וּגְבוּרָ֑ה

to declare

לְהַגִּ֤יד

unto Jacob

לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙

his transgression

פִּשְׁע֔וֹ

and to Israel

וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

his sin

חַטָּאתֽוֹ׃

Hear

שִׁמְעוּ

 

נָ֣א

 

זֹ֗את

this I pray you ye heads

רָאשֵׁי֙

of the house

בֵּ֣ית

of Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

and princes

וּקְצִינֵ֖י

of the house

בֵּ֣ית

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

that abhor

הַֽמֲתַעֲבִ֣ים

judgment

מִשְׁפָּ֔ט

 

וְאֵ֥ת

 

כָּל

all equity

הַיְשָׁרָ֖ה

and pervert

יְעַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃

They build up

בֹּנֶ֥ה

Zion

צִיּ֖וֹן

with blood

בְּדָמִ֑ים

and Jerusalem

וִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

with iniquity

בְּעַוְלָֽה׃

The heads

רָאשֶׁ֣יהָ׀

for reward

בְּשֹׁ֣חַד

thereof judge

יִשְׁפֹּ֗טוּ

and the priests

וְכֹהֲנֶ֙יהָ֙

for hire

בִּמְחִ֣יר

thereof teach

יוֹר֔וּ

and the prophets

וּנְבִיאֶ֖יהָ

for money

בְּכֶ֣סֶף

thereof divine

יִקְסֹ֑מוּ

 

וְעַל

Is not the LORD

יְהוָה֙

yet will they lean

יִשָּׁעֵ֣נוּ

and say

לֵאמֹ֔ר

 

הֲל֤וֹא

Is not the LORD

יְהוָה֙

among

בְּקִרְבֵּ֔נוּ

 

לֹֽא

can come

תָב֥וֹא

 

עָלֵ֖ינוּ

us none evil

רָעָֽה׃

 

לָכֵן֙

for your sake

בִּגְלַלְכֶ֔ם

Therefore shall Zion

צִיּ֖וֹן

as a field

שָׂדֶ֣ה

be plowed

תֵֽחָרֵ֑שׁ

and Jerusalem

וִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

shall become heaps

עִיִּ֣ין

 

תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה

and the mountain

וְהַ֥ר

of the house

הַבַּ֖יִת

as the high places

לְבָמ֥וֹת

of the forest

יָֽעַר׃
