she hath hewn out
חָצְבָ֖ה
pillars
עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ
her seven
שִׁבְעָֽה׃

She hath killed
טָבְחָ֣ה
her beasts
טִ֭בְחָהּ
she hath mingled
מָסְכָ֣ה
her wine
יֵינָ֑הּ
 
אַ֝֗ף
she hath also furnished
עָֽרְכָ֥ה
her table
שֻׁלְחָנָֽהּ׃

She hath sent forth
שָֽׁלְחָ֣ה
her maidens
נַעֲרֹתֶ֣יהָ
she crieth
תִקְרָ֑א
 
עַל
upon
גַּ֝פֵּ֗י
the highest places
מְרֹ֣מֵי
of the city
קָֽרֶת׃

מִי
Whoso is simple
פֶ֭תִי
let him turn in
יָסֻ֣ר
 
הֵ֑נָּה
hither as for him that wanteth
חֲסַר
understanding
לֵ֝֗ב
she saith
אָ֣מְרָה
 
לּֽוֹ׃

לְ֭כוּ
eat
לַחֲמ֣וּ
of my bread
בְֽלַחֲמִ֑י
and drink
וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ
of the wine
בְּיַ֣יִן
which I have mingled
מָסָֽכְתִּי׃

Forsake
עִזְב֣וּ
the foolish
פְתָאיִ֣ם
and live
וִֽחְי֑וּ
and go
וְ֝אִשְׁר֗וּ
in the way
בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ
of understanding
בִּינָֽה׃

He that reproveth
יֹ֤סֵ֨ר׀
a scorner
לֵ֗ץ
getteth
לֹקֵ֣חַֽ
 
ל֣וֹ
to himself shame
קָל֑וֹן
and he that rebuketh
וּמוֹכִ֖יחַ
a wicked
לְרָשָׁ֣ע
man getteth himself a blot
מוּמֽוֹ׃

Reprove
הוֹכַ֥ח
not a scorner
לֵ֭ץ
 
פֶּן
lest he hate
יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ
Reprove
הוֹכַ֥ח
a wise man
לְ֝חָכָ֗ם
and he will love
וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃

Give
תֵּ֣ן
instruction to a wise
לְ֭חָכָם
man and he will be yet wiser
וְיֶחְכַּם
 
ע֑וֹד
teach
הוֹדַ֥ע
a just
לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק
man and he will increase
וְי֣וֹסֶף
in learning
לֶֽקַח׃

is the beginning
תְּחִלַּ֣ת
of wisdom
חָ֭כְמָה
The fear
יִרְאַ֣ת
of the LORD
יְהוָ֑ה
and the knowledge
וְדַ֖עַת
of the holy
קְדֹשִׁ֣ים
is understanding
בִּינָֽה׃

shall be multiplied
יִרְבּ֣וּ
For by me thy days
יָמֶ֑יךָ
shall be increased
וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ
 
לְּ֝ךָ֗
and the years
שְׁנ֣וֹת
of thy life
חַיִּֽים׃

If thou be wise
חָכַ֣מְתָּ
If thou be wise
חָכַ֣מְתָּ
 
לָּ֑ךְ
for thyself but if thou scornest
וְ֝לַ֗צְתָּ
 
לְֽבַדְּךָ֥
thou alone shalt bear
תִשָּֽׂא׃

אֵ֣שֶׁת
A foolish
כְּ֭סִילוּת
is clamorous
הֹֽמִיָּ֑ה
she is simple
פְּ֝תַיּ֗וּת
and
וּבַל
knoweth
יָ֥דְעָה
nothing
מָּֽה׃

For she sitteth
וְֽ֭יָשְׁבָה
at the door
לְפֶ֣תַח
of her house
בֵּיתָ֑הּ
 
עַל
on a seat
כִּ֝סֵּ֗א
in the high places
מְרֹ֣מֵי
of the city
קָֽרֶת׃

To call
לִקְרֹ֥א
passengers
לְעֹֽבְרֵי
 
דָ֑רֶךְ
who go right
הַֽ֝מְיַשְּׁרִ֗ים
on their ways
אֹֽרְחוֹתָֽם׃

מִי
Whoso is simple
פֶ֭תִי
let him turn in
יָסֻ֣ר
 
הֵ֑נָּה
hither and as for him that wanteth
וַחֲסַר
understanding
לֵ֝֗ב
she saith
וְאָ֣מְרָה
 
לּֽוֹ׃

waters
מַֽיִם
Stolen
גְּנוּבִ֥ים
are sweet
יִמְתָּ֑קוּ
and bread
וְלֶ֖חֶם
eaten in secret
סְתָרִ֣ים
is pleasant
יִנְעָֽם׃
18
 
וְֽלֹא
But he knoweth
יָ֭דַע
 
כִּֽי
not that the dead
רְפָאִ֣ים
 
שָׁ֑ם
are in the depths
בְּעִמְקֵ֖י
of hell
שְׁא֣וֹל
are there and that her guests
קְרֻאֶֽיהָ׃
