בְּקֶצְפְּךָ֥

תוֹכִיחֵ֑נִי

me in thy hot displeasure

וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ֥

neither chasten

תְיַסְּרֵֽנִי׃

 

כִּֽי

For thine arrows

חִ֭צֶּיךָ

presseth me sore

וַתִּנְחַ֖ת

 

בִ֑י

עָלַ֣י

in me and thy hand

יָדֶֽךָ׃

There is no soundness

in my flesh

אֵין

neither is there any rest

שָׁל֥וֹם

in my bones

בַּ֝עֲצָמַ֗י

because

מִפְּנֵ֥י

of my sin

חַטָּאתִֽי׃

 

כִּ֣י

For mine iniquities

עֲ֭וֺנֹתַי

are gone over

עָבְר֣וּ

mine head

רֹאשִׁ֑י

burden

כְּמַשָּׂ֥א

as an heavy

כָ֝בֵ֗ד

they are too heavy

יִכְבְּד֥וּ

 

מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

stink

הִבְאִ֣ישׁוּ

and are corrupt

נָ֭מַקּוּ

My wounds

חַבּוּרֹתָ֑י

because

מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י

of my foolishness

אִוַּלְתִּֽי׃

I am troubled

נַעֲוֵ֣יתִי

I am bowed down

שַׁחֹ֣תִי

 

עַד

greatly

מְאֹ֑ד

 

כָּל

all the day

הַ֝יּ֗וֹם

mourning

קֹדֵ֥ר

I go

הִלָּֽכְתִּי׃

 

כִּֽי

For my loins

כְ֭סָלַי

are filled

מָלְא֣וּ

with a loathsome

נִקְלֶ֑ה

 

וְאֵ֥ין

disease and there is no soundness

מְ֝תֹ֗ם

in my flesh

בִּבְשָׂרִֽי׃

I am feeble

נְפוּג֣וֹתִי

broken

וְנִדְכֵּ֣יתִי

 

עַד

and sore

מְאֹ֑ד

I have roared

שָׁ֝אַ֗גְתִּי

by reason of the disquietness

מִֽנַּהֲמַ֥ת

of my heart

לִבִּֽי׃

Lord

אֲֽדֹנָי

 

נֶגְדְּךָ֥

 

כָל

all my desire

תַּאֲוָתִ֑י

is before thee and my groaning

וְ֝אַנְחָתִ֗י

 

מִמְּךָ֥

 

לֹא

is not hid

נִסְתָּֽרָה׃

My heart

לִבִּ֣י

panteth

סְ֭חַרְחַר

faileth

עֲזָבַ֣נִי

my strength

כֹחִ֑י

me as for the light

וְֽאוֹר

of mine eyes

עֵינַ֥י

 

גַּם

it

הֵ֝֗ם

also is gone

אִתִּֽי׃

My lovers

אֹֽהֲבַ֨י׀

and my friends

וְרֵעַ֗י

aloof from

מִנֶּ֣גֶד

my sore

stand

עָמָֽדוּ׃

and my kinsmen

וּ֝קְרוֹבַ֗י

afar off

מֵרָחֹ֥ק

stand

עָמָֽדוּ׃

lay snares

וַיְנַקְשׁ֤וּ׀

They also that seek

מְבַקְשֵׁ֬י

after my life

נַפְשִׁ֗י

for me and they that seek

וְדֹרְשֵׁ֣י

my hurt

רָ֭עָתִי

speak

דִּבְּר֣וּ

mischievous things

הַוּ֑וֹת

deceits

וּ֝מִרְמ֗וֹת

 

כָּל

all the day

הַיּ֥וֹם

and imagine

יֶהְגּֽוּ׃

 

וַאֲנִ֣י

But I as a deaf

כְ֭חֵרֵשׁ

 

לֹ֣א

man heard

אֶשְׁמָ֑ע

not and I was as a dumb man

וּ֝כְאִלֵּ֗ם

 

לֹ֣א

that openeth

יִפְתַּח

not his mouth

פִּֽיו׃

 

וָאֱהִ֗י

Thus I was as a man

כְּ֭אִישׁ

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹא

that heareth

שֹׁמֵ֑עַ

 

וְאֵ֥ין

not and in whose mouth

בְּ֝פִ֗יו

are no reproofs

תּוֹכָחֽוֹת׃

 

כִּֽי

 

לְךָ֣

For in thee O LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

do I hope

הוֹחָ֑לְתִּי

 

אַתָּ֥ה

thou wilt hear

תַ֝עֲנֶ֗ה

O Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

my God

אֱלֹהָֽי׃

 

כִּֽי

For I said

אָ֭מַרְתִּי

 

פֶּן

Hear me lest otherwise they should rejoice

יִשְׂמְחוּ

 

לִ֑י

slippeth

בְּמ֥וֹט

over me when my foot

רַ֝גְלִ֗י

 

עָלַ֥י

they magnify

הִגְדִּֽילוּ׃

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲ֭נִי

to halt

לְצֶ֣לַע

For I am ready

נָכ֑וֹן

and my sorrow

וּמַכְאוֹבִ֖י

 

נֶגְדִּ֣י

is continually

תָמִֽיד׃

 

כִּֽי

mine iniquity

עֲוֹנִ֥י

For I will declare

אַגִּ֑יד

I will be sorry

אֶ֝דְאַ֗ג

for my sin

מֵֽחַטָּאתִֽי׃

But mine enemies

וְֽ֭אֹיְבַי

are lively

חַיִּ֣ים

and they are strong

עָצֵ֑מוּ

are multiplied

וְרַבּ֖וּ

and they that hate

שֹׂנְאַ֣י

me wrongfully

שָֽׁקֶר׃

They also that render

וּמְשַׁלְּמֵ֣י

evil

רָ֭עָה

 

תַּ֣חַת

for good

טֽוֹב׃

are mine adversaries

יִ֝שְׂטְנ֗וּנִי

 

תַּ֣חַת

because I follow

רָֽדְופִי

for good

me not O LORD

to help

לְעֶזְרָתִ֑י
