דָּמִ֥יתָ

in thy greatness

בְגָדְלֶֽךָ׃

 

הִנֵּ֨ה

Behold the Assyrian

אַשּׁ֜וּר

was a cedar

אֶ֣רֶז

in Lebanon

בַּלְּבָנ֗וֹן

with fair

יְפֵ֥ה

branches

עָנָ֛ף

shroud

וְחֹ֥רֶשׁ

and with a shadowing

מֵצַ֖ל

and of an high

וּגְבַ֣הּ

stature

קוֹמָ֑ה

 

וּבֵ֣ין

was among the thick boughs

עֲבֹתִ֔ים

 

הָיְתָ֖ה

and his top

צַמַּרְתּֽוֹ׃

The waters

מַ֣יִם

made him great

גִּדְּל֔וּהוּ

the deep

תְּה֖וֹם

set him up on high

רֹֽמְמָ֑תְהוּ

 

אֶת

with her rivers

נַהֲרֹתֶ֗יהָ

running

הֹלֵךְ֙

round about

סְבִיב֣וֹת

his plants

מַטָּעָ֔הּ

 

וְאֶת

her little rivers

תְּעָלֹתֶ֣יהָ

and sent out

שִׁלְחָ֔ה

unto all the trees

עֲצֵ֥י

of the field

הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃

כֵּן֙

was exalted

גָּבְהָ֣א

Therefore his height

קֹמָת֔וֹ

 

מִכֹּ֖ל

above all the trees

עֲצֵ֣י

of the field

הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה

were multiplied

וַתִּרְבֶּ֨ינָה

and his boughs

סַֽרְעַפֹּתָ֜יו

became long

וַתֶּאֱרַ֧כְנָה

and his branches

פֹארֹתָ֛ו

of waters

מִמַּ֥יִם

because of the multitude

רַבִּ֖ים

when he shot forth

בְּשַׁלְּחֽוֹ׃

in his boughs

בִּסְעַפֹּתָ֤יו

made their nests

קִֽנְנוּ֙

 

כָּל

All the fowls

ע֣וֹף

of heaven

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

 

וְתַ֤חַת

and under his branches

פֹּֽארֹתָיו֙

bring forth their young

יָֽלְד֔וּ

 

כֹּ֖ל

did all the beasts

חַיַּ֣ת

of the field

הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה

and under his shadow

וּבְצִלּוֹ֙

dwelt

Thus was he fair

וַיְּיִ֣ף

in his greatness

בְּגָדְל֔וֹ

in the length

of his branches

for his root

סְעַפֹּתָ֔יו

and the chesnut trees

in the garden

בְּגַן

I have made

עֲשִׂיתִ֔יו

by the multitude

בְּרֹ֖ב

of his branches

דָּֽלִיּוֹתָ֑יו

envied

וַיְקַנְאֻ֙הוּ֙

 

כָּל

so that all the trees

עֲצֵי

of Eden

עֵ֔דֶן

 

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

that were in the garden

בְּגַ֥ן

of God

הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

 

יַ֕עַן

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

Because thou hast lifted up

גָּבַ֖הְתָּ

thyself in height

בְּקוֹמָ֑ה

and he hath shot up

וַיִּתֵּ֤ן

his top

צַמַּרְתּוֹ֙

 

אֶל

 

בֵּ֣ין

among the thick boughs

עֲבוֹתִ֔ים

is lifted up

וְרָ֥ם

and his heart

לְבָב֖וֹ

in his height

בְּגָבְהֽוֹ׃

I have therefore delivered

וְאֶ֨תְּנֵ֔הוּ

him into the hand

בְּיַ֖ד

of the mighty one

אֵ֣יל

of the heathen

גּוֹיִ֑ם

deal

יַֽעֲשֶׂה֙

deal

יַֽעֲשֶׂה֙

 

ל֔וֹ

for his wickedness

כְּרִשְׁע֖וֹ

with him I have driven him out

גֵּרַשְׁתִּֽהוּ׃

have cut him off

וַיִּכְרְתֻ֧הוּ

And strangers

זָרִ֛ים

the terrible

עָרִיצֵ֥י

of the nations

גוֹיִ֖ם

and have left

וַֽיִּטְּשֻֽׁהוּ׃

 

אֶל

him upon the mountains

הֶ֠הָרִים

 

וּבְכָל

and in all the valleys

גֵּ֨אָי֜וֹת

are fallen

נָפְל֣וּ

his branches

דָלִיּוֹתָ֗יו

are broken

וַתִּשָּׁבַ֤רְנָה

and his boughs

פֹֽרֹאתָיו֙

 

בְּכֹל֙

by all the rivers

אֲפִיקֵ֣י

of the earth

הָאָ֖רֶץ

are gone down

וַיֵּרְד֧וּ

from his shadow

מִצִּלּ֛וֹ

and all the people

וַֽיִּטְּשֻֽׁהוּ׃

 

עַל

Upon his ruin

מַפַּלְתּ֥וֹ

הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם

shall be upon his branches

פֹּֽרֹאתָ֣יו

עֲצֵי

the Lord

In the day

בְּי֨וֹם

when he went down

רִדְתּ֤וֹ

to the grave

שְׁא֙וֹלָה֙

I caused a mourning

הֶאֱבַ֜לְתִּי

I covered

כִּסֵּ֤תִי

 

עָלָיו֙

 

אֶת

the deep

תְּה֔וֹם

for him and I restrained

וָֽאֶמְנַע֙

the floods

נַהֲרוֹתֶ֔יהָ

were stayed

וַיִּכָּלְא֖וּ

waters

מַ֣יִם

thereof and the great

רַבִּ֑ים

to mourn

וָאַקְדִּ֤ר

 

עָלָיו֙

and I caused Lebanon

לְבָנ֔וֹן

 

וְכָל

for him and all the trees

עֲצֵ֥י

of the field

הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה

 

עָלָ֥יו

fainted

עֻלְפֶּֽה׃

at the sound

מִקּ֤וֹל

of his fall

מַפַּלְתּוֹ֙

to shake

הִרְעַ֣שְׁתִּי

I made the nations

גוֹיִ֔ם

when I cast him down

י֣וֹרְדֵי

 

אֹת֛וֹ

to hell

שְׁא֖וֹלָה

 

אֶת

when I cast him down

י֣וֹרְדֵי

into the pit

ב֑וֹר

shall be comforted

וַיִּנָּ֨חֲמ֜וּ

of the earth

בְּאֶ֤רֶץ

in the nether parts

תַּחְתִּית֙

and all the trees

עֲצֵי

of Eden

עֵ֔דֶן

the choice

מִבְחַ֥ר

and best

וְטוֹב

of Lebanon

לְבָנ֖וֹן

אִתּ֛וֹ

They also went down

יָרְד֥וּ

into hell

שְׁא֖וֹלָה

 

אֶל

with him unto them that be slain

חַלְלֵי

with the sword

חָ֑רֶב

and they that were his arm

וּזְרֹע֛וֹ

that dwelt

יָשְׁב֥וּ

under his shadow

בְצִלּ֖וֹ

in the midst

בְּת֥וֹךְ

of the heathen

וְהוּרַדְתָּ֙

unto the nether parts

תַּחְתִּ֗ית

בְּת֨וֹךְ

of the uncircumcised

עֲרֵלִ֤ים

thou shalt lie

תִּשְׁכַּב֙

with them that be slain

חַלְלֵי

by the sword

חֶ֔רֶב

 

ה֤וּא

This is Pharaoh

פַרְעֹה֙

 

וְכָל

and all his multitude

הֲמוֹנֹ֔ה

saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

יְהוִֽה׃
