answered
וַיַּ֖עַן
Moreover the LORD
יְהוָ֥ה

אֶת
Job
אִיּ֗וֹב
and said
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
2
Shall he that contendeth
הֲ֭רֹב

עִם
with the Almighty
שַׁדַּ֣י
instruct
יִסּ֑וֹר
him he that reproveth
מוֹכִ֖יחַ
God
אֱל֣וֹהַּ
let him answer
יַעֲנֶֽנָּה׃
3
answered
וַיַּ֖עַן
Then Job
אִיּ֥וֹב

אֶת
the LORD
יְהוָ֗ה
and said
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
4

הֵ֣ן
Behold I am vile
קַ֭לֹּתִי

מָ֣ה
what shall I answer
אֲשִׁיבֶ֑ךָּ
mine hand
יָ֝דִ֗י
thee I will lay
שַׂ֣מְתִּי
upon
לְמוֹ
my mouth
פִֽי׃
5
Once
אַחַ֣ת
have I spoken
דִּ֭בַּרְתִּי

וְלֹ֣א
but I will not answer
אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה
yea twice
וּ֝שְׁתַּ֗יִם

וְלֹ֣א
but I will proceed no further
אוֹסִֽיף׃
6
Then answered
וַיַּֽעַן
the LORD
יְהוָ֣ה

אֶת
unto Job
אִ֭יּוֹב

מִ֥נ׀
out of the whirlwind
סְעָרָ֗ה
and said
וַיֹּאמַֽר׃
7
Gird up
אֱזָר

נָ֣א
now like a man
כְגֶ֣בֶר
thy loins
חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ
I will demand
אֶ֝שְׁאָלְךָ֗
of thee and declare
וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃
8

הַ֭אַף
Wilt thou also disannul
תָּפֵ֣ר
my judgment
מִשְׁפָּטִ֑י
wilt thou condemn
תַּ֝רְשִׁיעֵ֗נִי

לְמַ֣עַן
me that thou mayest be righteous
תִּצְדָּֽק׃
9

וְאִם
Hast thou an arm
זְר֖וֹעַ
like God
כָּאֵ֥ל׀

לָ֑ךְ
with a voice
וּ֝בְק֗וֹל

כָּמֹ֥הוּ
or canst thou thunder
תַרְעֵֽם׃
10
Deck
עֲדֵ֥ה

נָ֣א
thyself now with majesty
גָֽא֣וֹן
and excellency
וָגֹ֑בַהּ
thyself with glory
וְה֖וֹד
and beauty
וְהָדָ֣ר
and array
תִּלְבָּֽשׁ׃
11
Cast abroad
הָ֭פֵץ
the rage
עֶבְר֣וֹת
of thy wrath
אַפֶּ֑ךָ
and behold
וּרְאֵ֥ה

כָל
every one that is proud
גֵּ֝אֶ֗ה
and abase
וְהַשְׁפִּילֵֽהוּ׃
12
Look
רְאֵ֣ה

כָל
on every one that is proud
גֵּ֭אֶה
and bring him low
הַכְנִיעֵ֑הוּ
and tread down
וַהֲדֹ֖ךְ
the wicked
רְשָׁעִ֣ים

תַּחְתָּֽם׃
13
Hide
בַּטָּמֽוּן׃
them in the dust
בֶּעָפָ֣ר
together
יָ֑חַד
their faces
פְּ֝נֵיהֶ֗ם
and bind
חֲבֹ֣שׁ
Hide
בַּטָּמֽוּן׃
14

וְגַם

אֲנִ֥י
Then will I also confess
אוֹדֶ֑ךָּ

כִּֽי
can save
תוֹשִׁ֖עַ

לְךָ֣
unto thee that thine own right hand
יְמִינֶֽךָ׃
15

הִנֵּה

נָ֣א
Behold now behemoth
בְ֭הֵמוֹת

אֲשֶׁר
which I made
עָשִׂ֣יתִי

עִמָּ֑ךְ
grass
חָ֝צִ֗יר
as an ox
כַּבָּקָ֥ר
with thee he eateth
יֹאכֵֽל׃
16

הִנֵּה

נָ֣א
Lo now his strength
כֹח֣וֹ
is in his loins
בְמָתְנָ֑יו
and his force
וְ֝אוֹנ֗וֹ
is in the navel
בִּשְׁרִירֵ֥י
of his belly
בִטְנֽוֹ׃
17
He moveth
יַחְפֹּ֣ץ
his tail
זְנָב֣וֹ

כְמוֹ
like a cedar
אָ֑רֶז
the sinews
גִּידֵ֖י
of his stones
פַחֲדָ֣ו
are wrapped together
יְשֹׂרָֽגוּ׃
18
His bones
עֲ֭צָמָיו
are as strong
אֲפִיקֵ֣י
pieces of brass
נְחוּשָׁ֑ה
his bones
גְּ֝רָמָ֗יו
are like bars
כִּמְטִ֥יל
of iron
בַּרְזֶֽל׃
19

ה֭וּא
He is the chief
רֵאשִׁ֣ית
of the ways
דַּרְכֵי
of God
אֵ֑ל
he that made
הָ֝עֹשׂוֹ
him can make
יַגֵּ֥שׁ
his sword
חַרְבּֽוֹ׃
20

כִּֽי
food
ב֭וּל
Surely the mountains
הָרִ֣ים
bring him forth
יִשְׂאוּ

ל֑וֹ

וְֽכָל
where all the beasts
חַיַּ֥ת
of the field
הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה
play
יְשַֽׂחֲקוּ

שָֽׁם׃
21

תַּֽחַת
under the shady trees
צֶאֱלִ֥ים
He lieth
יִשְׁכָּ֑ב
in the covert
בְּסֵ֖תֶר
of the reed
קָנֶ֣ה
and fens
וּבִצָּֽה׃
22
cover
יְסֻכֻּ֣הוּ
The shady trees
צֶאֱלִ֣ים
him with their shadow
צִֽלֲל֑וֹ
compass him about
יְ֝סֻבּ֗וּהוּ
the willows
עַרְבֵי
of the brook
נָֽחַל׃
23

הֵ֤ן
Behold he drinketh up
יַעֲשֹׁ֣ק
a river
נָ֭הָר

לֹ֣א
and hasteth
יַחְפּ֑וֹז
not he trusteth
יִבְטַ֓ח׀

כִּֽי
that he can draw up
יָגִ֖יחַ
Jordan
יַרְדֵּ֣ן

אֶל
into his mouth
פִּֽיהוּ׃
24
it with his eyes
בְּעֵינָ֥יו
He taketh
יִקָּחֶ֑נּוּ
snares
בְּ֝מֽוֹקְשִׁ֗ים
pierceth through
יִנְקָב
his nose
אָֽף׃
