בְּפַ֖עַם
not as at other times
בְּפַ֖עַם
to seek
לִקְרַ֣את
for enchantments
נְחָשִׁ֑ים
but he set
וַיָּ֥שֶׁת
 
אֶל
toward the wilderness
הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר
his face
פָּנָֽיו׃

lifted up
וַיִּשָּׂ֨א
And Balaam
בִלְעָ֜ם
 
אֶת
his eyes
עֵינָ֗יו
and he saw
וַיַּרְא֙
 
אֶת
Israel
יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
abiding
שֹׁכֵ֖ן
in his tents according to their tribes
לִשְׁבָטָ֑יו
 
וַתְּהִ֥י
 
עָלָ֖יו
and the spirit
ר֥וּחַ
of God
אֱלֹהִֽים׃

And he took up
וַיִּשָּׂ֥א
his parable
מְשָׁל֖וֹ
and said
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר
hath said
וּנְאֻ֥ם
Balaam
בִּלְעָם֙
the son
בְּנ֣וֹ
of Beor
בְעֹ֔ר
hath said
וּנְאֻ֥ם
and the man
הַגֶּ֖בֶר
are open
שְׁתֻ֥ם
whose eyes
הָעָֽיִן׃

He hath said
נְאֻ֕ם
which heard
שֹׁמֵ֖עַ
the words
אִמְרֵי
of God
אֵ֑ל
 
אֲשֶׁ֨ר
the vision
מַֽחֲזֵ֤ה
of the Almighty
שַׁדַּי֙
which saw
יֶֽחֱזֶ֔ה
falling
נֹפֵ֖ל
open
וּגְל֥וּי
into a trance but having his eyes
עֵינָֽיִם׃

מַה
How goodly
טֹּ֥בוּ
are thy tents
אֹֽהָלֶ֖יךָ
O Jacob
יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב
and thy tabernacles
מִשְׁכְּנֹתֶ֖יךָ
O Israel
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

As the valleys
כִּנְחָלִ֣ים
are they spread forth
נִטָּ֔יוּ
as gardens
כְּגַנֹּ֖ת
 
עֲלֵ֣י
by the river's side
נָהָ֑ר
as the trees of lign aloes
כַּֽאֲהָלִים֙
hath planted
נָטַ֣ע
which the LORD
יְהוָ֔ה
and as cedar trees
כַּֽאֲרָזִ֖ים
 
עֲלֵי
beside the waters
מָֽיִם׃

He shall pour
יִֽזַּל
the water
בְּמַ֣יִם
of his buckets
מִדָּ֣לְיָ֔ו
and his seed
וְזַרְע֖וֹ
the water
בְּמַ֣יִם
shall be in many
רַבִּ֑ים
shall be higher
וְיָרֹ֤ם
than Agag
מֵֽאֲגַג֙
and his king
מַלְכּ֔וֹ
shall be exalted
וְתִנַּשֵּׂ֖א
and his kingdom
מַלְכֻתֽוֹ׃

אֵ֚ל
brought him forth
מֽוֹצִיא֣וֹ
out of Egypt
מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם
he hath as it were the strength
כְּתֽוֹעֲפֹ֥ת
of an unicorn
רְאֵ֖ם
 
ל֑וֹ
he shall eat up
יֹאכַ֞ל
the nations
גּוֹיִ֣ם
his enemies
צָרָ֗יו
their bones
וְעַצְמֹֽתֵיהֶ֛ם
and shall break
יְגָרֵ֖ם
them through with his arrows
וְחִצָּ֥יו
and pierce
יִמְחָֽץ׃

He couched
כָּרַ֨ע
he lay down
שָׁכַ֧ב
as a lion
כַּֽאֲרִ֛י
and as a great lion
וּכְלָבִ֖יא
 
מִ֣י
who shall stir him up
יְקִימֶ֑נּוּ
Blessed

וְהִנֵּ֛ה
hath kept thee back
מְנָֽעֲךָ֥
but lo the LORD
יְהוָ֖ה
from honour
מִכָּבֽוֹד׃

I not also to thy messengers
מַלְאָכֶ֛יךָ
 
אֲשֶׁר
which thou sentest

of mine own mind

but what the LORD

הִנְנִ֥י
And now behold I go

thee what this people
לְעַמְּךָ֖

therefore and I will advertise
אִיעָ֣צְךָ֔

the son

of Beor
בְעֹ֔ר
hath said
וּנְאֻ֥ם
and the man
הַגֶּ֖בֶר
are open
שְׁתֻ֥ם
whose eyes
הָעָֽיִן׃

He hath said
נְאֻ֗ם
which heard
שֹׁמֵ֙עַ֙
the words
אִמְרֵי
of God
אֵ֔ל
and knew
וְיֹדֵ֖עַ
the knowledge
דַּ֣עַת
of the most High
עֶלְי֑וֹן
the vision
מַֽחֲזֵ֤ה
of the Almighty
שַׁדַּי֙
which saw
יֶֽחֱזֶ֔ה
falling
נֹפֵ֖ל
open
וּגְל֥וּי
into a trance but having his eyes
עֵינָֽיִם׃
17
I shall see
אֶרְאֶ֙נּוּ֙
 
וְלֹ֣א
 
עַתָּ֔ה
him but not now I shall behold
אֲשׁוּרֶ֖נּוּ
 
וְלֹ֣א
him but not nigh
קָר֑וֹב
there shall come
דָּרַ֨ךְ
a Star
כּוֹכָ֜ב
out of Jacob
מִֽיַּעֲקֹ֗ב
shall rise
וְקָ֥ם
and a Sceptre
שֵׁ֙בֶט֙
out of Israel
מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
and shall smite
וּמָחַץ֙
the corners
פַּֽאֲתֵ֣י
of Moab
מוֹאָ֔ב
and destroy
וְקַרְקַ֖ר
 
כָּל
all the children
בְּנֵי
 
שֵֽׁת׃
18
 
וְהָיָ֨ה
And Edom
אֱד֜וֹם
also shall be a possession
יְרֵשָׁ֛ה
 
וְהָיָ֧ה
also shall be a possession
יְרֵשָׁ֛ה
Seir
שֵׂעִ֖יר
for his enemies
אֹֽיְבָ֑יו
and Israel
וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל
shall do
עֹ֥שֶׂה
valiantly
חָֽיִל׃
19
shall come he that shall have dominion
וְיֵ֖רְדְּ
Out of Jacob
מִֽיַּעֲקֹ֑ב
and shall destroy
וְהֶֽאֱבִ֥יד
him that remaineth
שָׂרִ֖יד
of the city
מֵעִֽיר׃
20
And when he looked
וַיַּרְא֙
 
אֶת
Amalek
עֲמָלֵ֔ק
he took up
וַיִּשָּׂ֥א
his parable
מְשָׁל֖וֹ
and said
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר
was the first
רֵאשִׁ֤ית
of the nations
גּוֹיִם֙
Amalek
עֲמָלֵ֔ק
but his latter
וְאַֽחֲרִית֖וֹ
for ever
עֲדֵ֥י
end shall be that he perish
אֹבֵֽד׃

And he looked
וַיַּרְא֙
 
אֶת
on the Kenites
הַקֵּינִ֔י
and took up
וַיִּשָּׂ֥א
his parable
מְשָׁל֖וֹ
and said
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר
Strong
אֵיתָן֙
is thy dwellingplace
מֽוֹשָׁבֶ֔ךָ
and thou puttest
וְשִׂ֥ים
in a rock
בַּסֶּ֖לַע
thy nest
קִנֶּֽךָ׃

כִּ֥י
shall
אִם
 
יִֽהְיֶ֖ה
be wasted
לְבָ֣עֵֽר
Nevertheless the Kenite
קָ֑יִן
 
עַד
 
מָ֖ה
until Asshur
אַשּׁ֥וּר
shall carry thee away captive
תִּשְׁבֶּֽךָּ׃

And he took up
וַיִּשָּׂ֥א
his parable
מְשָׁל֖וֹ
and said
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר
Alas
א֕וֹי
 
מִ֥י
who shall live
יִֽחְיֶ֖ה
doeth
מִשֻּׂמ֥וֹ
when God
אֵֽל׃
24
And ships
וְצִים֙
shall come from the coast
מִיַּ֣ד
of Chittim
כִּתִּ֔ים
and shall afflict
וְעִנּוּ
Asshur
אַשּׁ֖וּר
and shall afflict
וְעִנּוּ
Eber
עֵ֑בֶר
 
וְגַם
 
ה֖וּא
for ever
עֲדֵ֥י
and he also shall perish
אֹבֵֽד׃

rose up
וַיָּ֣קָם
And Balaam
בִּלְעָ֔ם
also went
הָלַ֥ךְ
and returned
וַיָּ֣שָׁב
to his place
לִמְקֹמ֑וֹ
 
וְגַם
and Balak
בָּלָ֖ק
also went
הָלַ֥ךְ
his way
לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃
