peradventure the LORD

to meet

לִקְרָאתִ֔י

me and whatsoever

וּדְבַ֥ר

יַּרְאֵ֖נִי

me I will tell

וְהִגַּ֣דְתִּי

 

לָ֑ךְ

 

וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ

to an high place

And the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

a word

דָּבָ֖ר

And he returned

unto him and lo he stood

נִצָּ֖ב

by his burnt sacrifice

עֹֽלָת֑וֹ

out of the mountains

לִּ֣י

me Jacob

יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב

 

וּלְכָ֖ה

defy

זֹֽעֲמָ֥ה

Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

How

shall I curse

אֶקֹּ֔ב

 

לֹ֥א

hath not cursed

קַבֹּ֖ה

whom God

to him behold he stood

unto me thou son

בְּנ֥וֹ

of Zippor

צִפֹּֽר׃

 

לֹ֣א

is not a man

אִ֥ישׁ

God

אֵל֙

that he should lie

וִֽיכַזֵּ֔ב

neither the son

וּבֶן

of man

אָדָ֖ם

that he should repent

וְיִתְנֶחָ֑ם

 

הַה֤וּא

hath he said

אָמַר֙

 

וְלֹ֣א

and shall he not do

יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה

it or hath he spoken

וְדִבֶּ֖ר

 

וְלֹ֥א

and shall he not make it good

יְקִימֶֽנָּה׃

 

הִנֵּ֥ה

and he hath blessed

וּבֵרֵ֖ךְ

Behold I have received

and I cannot reverse

the LORD

אֱלֹהָיו֙

 

עִמּ֔וֹ

is with him and the shout

וּתְרוּעַ֥ת

of a king

מֽוֹצִיאָ֣ם

מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם

he hath as it were the strength

of an unicorn

Surely there is no enchantment

נַ֙חַשׁ֙

against Jacob

What hath God

אֵֽל׃

 

הֶן

Behold the people

עָם֙

as a great lion

כְּלָבִ֣יא

shall rise up

יָק֔וּם

himself as a young lion

וְכַֽאֲרִ֖י

and lift up

יִתְנַשָּׂ֑א

 

לֹ֤א

he shall not lie down

יִשְׁכַּב֙

 

עַד

until he eat

יֹ֣אכַל

of the prey

טֶ֔רֶף

the blood

וְדַם

of the slain

חֲלָלִ֖ים

and drink

יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃

And Balak

But Balaam

בִּלְעָ֔ם
