1

Do ye indeed

הַֽאֻמְנָ֗ם

O congregation

אֵ֣לֶם

righteousness

צֶ֭דֶק

speak

תְּדַבֵּר֑וּן

uprightly

מֵישָׁרִ֥ים

do ye judge

תִּ֝שְׁפְּט֗וּ

O ye sons

בְּנֵ֣י

of men

אָדָֽם׃

2

אַף

Yea in heart

בְּלֵב֮

wickedness

עוֹלֹ֪ת

ye work

תִּפְעָ֫ל֥וּן

in the earth

בָּאָ֡רֶץ

the violence

חֲמַ֥ס

of your hands

יְ֝דֵיכֶ֗ם

ye weigh

תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃

3

are estranged

זֹ֣רוּ

The wicked

רְשָׁעִ֣ים

from the womb

מֵרָ֑חֶם

they go astray

תָּע֥וּ

as soon as they be born

מִ֝בֶּ֗טֶן

speaking

דֹּבְרֵ֥י

lies

כָזָֽב׃

4

Their poison

חֲמַת

לָ֗מוֹ

is like

כִּדְמ֥וּת

Their poison

חֲמַת

of a serpent

נָחָ֑שׁ

כְּמוֹ

adder

פֶ֥תֶן

they are like the deaf

חֵ֝רֵ֗שׁ

that stoppeth

יַאְטֵ֥ם

her ear

אָזְנֽוֹ׃

5

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

לֹא

Which will not hearken

יִ֭שְׁמַע

to the voice

לְק֣וֹל

of charmers

מְלַחֲשִׁ֑ים

charming

חוֹבֵ֖ר

חֲבָרִ֣ים

never so wisely

מְחֻכָּֽם׃

6

O God

אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים

Break

הֲרָס

their teeth

שִׁנֵּ֥ימוֹ

in their mouth

בְּפִ֑ימוֹ

the great teeth

מַלְתְּע֥וֹת

of the young lions

כְּ֝פִירִ֗ים

break out

נְתֹ֣ץ׀

O LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

7

Let them melt away

יִמָּאֲס֣וּ

כְמוֹ

as waters

מַ֭יִם

which run continually

יִתְהַלְּכוּ

לָ֑מוֹ

when he bendeth

יִדְרֹ֥ךְ

his bow to shoot his arrows

חִ֝צָּ֗ו

כְּמ֣וֹ

let them be as cut in pieces

יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃

8

כְּמ֣וֹ

As a snail

שַׁ֭בְּלוּל

which melteth

תֶּ֣מֶס

let every one of them pass away

יַהֲלֹ֑ךְ

like the untimely birth

נֵ֥פֶל

of a woman

אֵ֝֗שֶׁת

בַּל

that they may not see

חָ֥זוּ

the sun

שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃

9

בְּטֶ֤רֶם׀

can feel

יָבִ֣ינוּ

Before your pots

סִּירֹֽתֵכֶ֣ם

the thorns

אָטָ֑ד

כְּמוֹ

both living

חַ֥י

כְּמוֹ

and in his wrath

חָ֝ר֗וֹן

he shall take them away as with a whirlwind

יִשְׂעָרֶֽנּוּ׃

10

shall rejoice

יִשְׂמַ֣ח

The righteous

צַ֭דִּיק

כִּי

when he seeth

חָזָ֣ה

the vengeance

נָקָ֑ם

his feet

פְּעָמָ֥יו

he shall wash

יִ֝רְחַ֗ץ

in the blood

בְּדַ֣ם

of the wicked

הָרָשָֽׁע׃

11

shall say

וְיֹאמַ֣ר

So that a man

אָ֭דָם

אַךְ

Verily there is a reward

פְּרִ֣י

for the righteous

לַצַּדִּ֑יק

אַ֥ךְ

verily he is

יֵשׁ

a God

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

that judgeth

שֹׁפְטִ֥ים

in the earth

בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
