For he knoweth

שִׁלְטוֹן֙

בְּי֣וֹם

בַּמִּלְחָמָ֑ה

deliver

יְמַלֵּ֥ט

the wicked

from the place

וּמִמְּק֤וֹם

of the holy

קָדוֹשׁ֙

and gone

יְהַלֵּ֔כוּ

and they were forgotten

וְיִֽשְׁתַּכְּח֥וּ

in the city

בָעִ֖יר

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

And so

כֵּן

where they had so done

עָשׂ֑וּ

 

גַּם

 

זֶ֖ה

this is also vanity

הָֽבֶל׃

 

אֲשֶׁר֙

 

אֵין

in them to do

לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת

פִתְגָ֔ם

מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה

against an evil

רָֽע׃

speedily

מְהֵרָ֑ה

מָלֵ֞א

לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת

Though a sinner

חֹטֶ֗א

עֹשֶׂ֥ה

evil

רָ֛ע

an hundred times

מְאַ֖ת

and his days be prolonged

וּמַאֲרִ֣יךְ

כִּ֚י

 

גַּם

yet surely I know

יוֹדֵ֣עַ

 

אָ֔נִי

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

יִהְיֶה

that it shall be well

טּוֹב֙

which fear

יִֽירְא֖וּ

הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

מִלְּפָנָֽיו׃

But it shall not be well

יַאֲרִ֥יךְ

his days

יָמִ֖ים

which are as a shadow

אֵינֶ֥נּוּ

because he feareth

מִלִּפְנֵ֥י

אֱלֹהִֽים׃

There is

וְיֵ֣שׁ

a vanity

הָֽבֶל׃

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

נַעֲשָׂ֣ה

upon the earth

הָאָרֶץ֒

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀

There is

וְיֵ֣שׁ

of the righteous

הַצַּדִּיקִ֑ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

men to whom it happeneth

שֶׁמַּגִּ֥יעַ

 

אֲלֵהֶם֙

according to the work

כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה

of the wicked

רְשָׁעִ֔ים

There is

וְיֵ֣שׁ

of the wicked

רְשָׁעִ֔ים

men to whom it happeneth

שֶׁמַּגִּ֥יעַ

 

אֲלֵהֶ֖ם

according to the work

כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה

of the righteous

הַצַּדִּיקִ֑ים

I said

אָמַ֕רְתִּי

that this also

שֶׁגַּם

a vanity

הָֽבֶל׃

Then I commended

וְשִׁבַּ֤חְתִּֽי

 

אֲנִי֙

 

אֶת

mirth

הַשִּׂמְחָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

 

אֵֽין

hath no better thing

ט֤וֹב

because a man

לָֽאָדָם֙

 

תַּ֣חַת

him under the sun

הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃

 

כִּ֛י

 

אִם

than to eat

לֶאֱכֹ֥ל

and to drink

וְלִשְׁתּ֖וֹת

and to be merry

וְלִשְׂמ֑וֹחַ

 

וְה֞וּא

for that shall abide

יִלְוֶ֣נּוּ

with him of his labour

בַעֲמָל֗וֹ

the days

יְמֵ֥י

of his life

חַיָּ֛יו

 

אֲשֶׁר

giveth

נָֽתַן

וּבַלַּ֔יְלָה

Then I beheld

וְרָאִיתִי֮

all the work

a man

הָאָדָ֛ם

find out
