בְּי֣וֹם

that I brought them forth

הוֹצִיאִֽי

 

אוֹתָ֣ם

out of the land

מֵאֶֽרֶץ

of Egypt

furnace

מִכּ֨וּר

from the iron

הַבַּרְזֶ֜ל

saying

לֵאמֹ֗ר

Obey

שִׁמְע֤וּ

my voice

בְקוֹלִי֙

and do

וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם

 

אוֹתָ֔ם

 

כְּכֹ֥ל

 

אֲשֶׁר

Which I commanded

אֶתְכֶ֑ם

 

וִהְיִ֤יתֶם

 

לִי֙

you so shall ye be my people

וְאָ֣נֹכִ֔י

לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

 

לְמַעַן֩

That I may perform

which I have sworn

נִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּי

unto your fathers

לַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם

to give

לָהֶם֙

them a land

אֶ֣רֶץ

flowing

זָבַ֥ת

with milk

חָלָ֛ב

and honey

וּדְבַ֖שׁ

as it is this day

כַּיּ֣וֹם

 

הַזֶּ֑ה

Then answered

וָאַ֥עַן

I and said

וָאֹמַ֖ר

So be it

אָמֵ֥ן׀

O LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

לֵאמֹ֑ר

unto me Proclaim

קְרָ֨א

all these words

דִּבְרֵי֙

 

הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙

in the cities

בְּעָרֵ֣י

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֔ה

and in the streets

וּבְחֻצ֥וֹת

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

said

לֵאמֹ֑ר

Hear

שִׁמְע֗וּ

all these words

of this covenant

הַבְּרִ֣ית

 

הַזֹּ֔את

and do

וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם

כִּי֩

For I earnestly

וְהָעֵ֖ד

not nor inclined

הִטּ֣וּ

their ear

אָזְנָ֔ם

 

וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ

בִּשְׁרִיר֖וּת

therefore I will bring

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר

And the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

אֵלָ֑י

is found

נִֽמְצָא

unto me A conspiracy

קֶ֙שֶׁר֙

among the men

בְּאִ֣ישׁ

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֔ה

and among the inhabitants

וּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֖י

of Jerusalem

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

They are turned back

שָׁ֩בוּ֩

 

עַל

to the iniquities

עֲוֹנֹ֨ת

with their fathers

אֲבוֹתָֽם׃

of their forefathers

הָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֗ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

Therefore thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will bring

מֵבִ֤יא

 

אֲלֵיהֶם֙

evil

רָעָ֔ה

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

 

לֹֽא

upon them which they shall not be able

יוּכְל֖וּ

to escape

לָצֵ֣את

 

מִמֶּ֑נָּה

and though they shall cry

וְזָעֲק֣וּ

 

אֵלַ֔י

 

וְלֹ֥א

unto me I will not hearken

אֶשְׁמַ֖ע

 

אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

go

וְהָֽלְכ֞וּ

Then shall the cities

עָרֵ֣י

of Judah

יְהוּדָ֗ה

and inhabitants

וְיֹשְׁבֵי֙

of Jerusalem

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and cry

וְזָֽעֲקוּ֙

 

אֶל

unto the gods

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

 

הֵ֥ם

unto whom they offer incense

מְקַטְּרִ֖ים

 

לָהֶ֑ם

but they shall not save

יוֹשִׁ֥יעוּ

 

לֹֽא

but they shall not save

יוֹשִׁ֥יעוּ

 

לָהֶ֖ם

in the time

בְּעֵ֥ת

of their trouble

רָעָתָֽם׃

 

כִּ֚י

For according to the number

וּמִסְפַּ֞ר

of thy cities

אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ

O Judah

יְהוּדָ֑ה

חֻצ֣וֹת

of Jerusalem

have ye set up

שַׂמְתֶּ֤ם

altars

מִזְבְּח֖וֹת

to that shameful thing

לַבֹּ֔שֶׁת

מִזְבְּח֖וֹת

to burn incense

לְקַטֵּ֥ר

unto Baal

לַבָּֽעַל׃

 

וְאַתָּ֗ה

 

אַל

Therefore pray

תִּתְפַּלֵּל֙

 

בְּעַד

not thou for this people

הָעָ֣ם

 

הַזֶּ֔ה

 

וְאַל

neither lift up

תִּשָּׂ֥א

 

בַעֲדָ֖ם

a cry

רִנָּ֣ה

or prayer

וּתְפִלָּ֑ה

 

כִּ֣י׀

 

אֵינֶ֣נִּי

for them for I will not hear

שֹׁמֵ֗עַ

them in the time

בְּעֵ֛ת

that they cry

קָרְאָ֥ם

 

אֵלַ֖י

unto me for their trouble

רָעָתָֽם׃

What hath my beloved

לִֽידִידִ֞י

from thee when thou doest evil

רָעָתֵ֖כִי

then thou rejoicest

תַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃

and of goodly

The LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

שְׁמֵ֑ךְ

tumult

הֲמוּלָּ֣ה

of a great

גְדֹלָ֗ה

he hath kindled

הִצִּ֥ית

fire

אֵשׁ֙

 

עָלֶ֔יהָ

of it are broken

וְרָע֖וּ

upon it and the branches

דָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃

לָהֶ֛ם

against themselves to provoke me to anger

לְהַכְעִסֵ֖נִי

in offering incense

לְקַטֵּ֥ר

unto Baal

לַבָּֽעַל׃

And the LORD

וַֽיהוָ֥ה

hath given me knowledge

וָֽאֵדָ֑עָה

hath given me knowledge

וָֽאֵדָ֑עָה

 

אָ֖ז

it then thou shewedst

הִרְאִיתַ֥נִי

me their doings

מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

 

וַאֲנִ֕י

But I was like a lamb

כְּכֶ֥בֶשׂ

or an ox

אַלּ֖וּף

that is brought

יוּבַ֣ל

to the slaughter

לִטְב֑וֹחַ

 

וְלֹֽא

and I knew

יָדַ֜עְתִּי

 

כִּֽי

 

עָלַ֣י׀

not that they had devised

חָשְׁב֣וּ

devices

מַחֲשָׁב֗וֹת

against me saying Let us destroy

נַשְׁחִ֨יתָה

the tree

עֵ֤ץ

with the fruit

בְּלַחְמוֹ֙

thereof and let us cut him off

וְנִכְרְתֶ֙נּוּ֙

from the land

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

of the living

חַיִּ֔ים

that his name

וּשְׁמ֖וֹ

 

לֹֽא

may be no more remembered

יִזָּכֵ֥ר

 

עֽוֹד׃

But O LORD

וַֽיהוָ֤ה

of hosts

צְבָאוֹת֙

that judgest

שֹׁפֵ֣ט

righteously

צֶ֔דֶק

that triest

בֹּחֵ֥ן

the reins

כְּלָי֖וֹת

and the heart

וָלֵ֑ב

let me see

אֶרְאֶ֤ה

thy vengeance

נִקְמָֽתְךָ֙

 

מֵהֶ֔ם

 

כִּ֥י

 

אֵלֶ֖יךָ

on them for unto thee have I revealed

גִּלִּ֥יתִי

 

אֶת

my cause

רִיבִֽי׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

of Anathoth

עֲנָת֔וֹת

that seek

הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥ים

thy life

נַפְשְׁךָ֖

Therefore thus saith

לֵאמֹ֑ר

 

לֹ֤א

Prophesy

תִנָּבֵא֙

not in the name

בְּשֵׁ֣ם

of the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

וְלֹ֥א

that thou die

תָמ֖וּת

not by our hand

בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

of hosts

צְבָא֔וֹת

 

הִנְנִ֥י

Behold I will punish

פֹקֵ֖ד

 

עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם

them the young men

הַבַּֽחוּרִים֙

shall die

יָמֻ֖תוּ

by the sword

בַחֶ֔רֶב

their sons

בְּנֵיהֶם֙

and their daughters

וּבְנ֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם

shall die

יָמֻ֖תוּ

by famine

בָּרָעָֽב׃

And there shall be no remnant

וּשְׁאֵרִ֕ית

 

לֹ֥א

 

תִֽהְיֶ֖ה

 

לָהֶ֑ם

 

כִּֽי

of them for I will bring
