וְאֶמְצָאֵ֑הוּ

him! that I might come

even to his seat

אֶעֶרְכָ֣ה

לְפָנָ֣יו

my cause

מִשְׁפָּ֑ט

my mouth

וּ֝פִ֗י

him and fill

אֲמַלֵּ֥א

with arguments

תוֹכָחֽוֹת׃

I would know

אֵ֭דְעָה

the words

מִלִּ֣ים

which he would answer

יַעֲנֵ֑נִי

me and understand

וְ֝אָבִ֗ינָה

 

מַה

what he would say

יֹּ֥אמַר

 

לִֽי׃

me with his great

הַבְּרָב

power

כֹּ֭חַ

Will he plead

יָרִ֣יב

against

עִמָּדִ֑י

No but he would put

There the righteous

יָ֭שָׁר

might dispute

with him so should I be delivered

וַאֲפַלְּטָ֥ה

for ever

לָ֝נֶ֗צַח

from my judge

מִשֹּׁפְטִֽי׃

 

הֵ֤ן

forward

קֶ֣דֶם

Behold I go

אֶהֱלֹ֣ךְ

 

וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ

but he is not there and backward

וְ֝אָח֗וֹר

 

וְֽלֹא

but I cannot perceive

אָבִ֥ין

 

לֽוֹ׃

On the left hand

שְׂמֹ֣אול

where he doth work

בַּעֲשֹׂת֣וֹ

 

וְלֹא

but I cannot behold

אָ֑חַז

him he hideth

יַעְטֹ֥ף

himself on the right hand

יָ֝מִ֗ין

 

וְלֹ֣א

that I cannot see

אֶרְאֶֽה׃

 

כִּֽי

But he knoweth

יָ֭דַע

the way

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

that I take

עִמָּדִ֑י

when he hath tried

בְּ֝חָנַ֗נִי

as gold

כַּזָּהָ֥ב

me I shall come forth

אֵצֵֽא׃

his steps

בַּ֭אֲשֻׁרוֹ

hath held

אָחֲזָ֣ה

My foot

רַגְלִ֑י

his way

דַּרְכּ֖וֹ

have I kept

שָׁמַ֣רְתִּי

 

וְלֹא

and not declined

אָֽט׃

from the commandment

מִצְוַ֣ת

of his lips

שְׂ֭פָתָיו

 

וְלֹ֣א

Neither have I gone back

אָמִ֑ישׁ

more than my necessary

מֵ֝חֻקִּ֗י

I have esteemed

צָפַ֥נְתִּי

the words

אִמְרֵי

of his mouth

פִֽיו׃

 

וְה֣וּא

But he is in one

בְ֭אֶחָד

 

וּמִ֣י

mind and who can turn

יְשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ

him and what his soul

וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹ

desireth

אִוְּתָ֣ה

even that he doeth

וַיָּֽעַשׂ׃

 

כִּ֭י

For he performeth

יַשְׁלִ֣ים

the thing that is appointed

חֻקִּ֑י

such

וְכָהֵ֖נָּה

for me and many

רַבּ֣וֹת

 

עִמּֽוֹ׃

 

עַל

 

כֵּ֭ן

at his presence

מִפָּנָ֣יו

Therefore am I troubled

אֶבָּהֵ֑ל

when I consider

אֶ֝תְבּוֹנֵ֗ן

I am afraid

וְאֶפְחַ֥ד

 

מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

For God

וְ֭אֵל

soft

הֵרַ֣ךְ

maketh my heart

לִבִּ֑י

and the Almighty

וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י

troubleth

הִבְהִילָֽנִי׃

 

כִּֽי

 

לֹ֣א

Because I was not cut off

נִ֭צְמַתִּי

before

וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י

the darkness

חֹ֑שֶׁךְ

before

וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י

neither hath he covered

כִּסָּה

the darkness

אֹֽפֶל׃
