תַּסְתֵּ֬ר

not thy face

פָּנֶ֨יךָ׀

from me in the day

when I am in trouble

הַטֵּֽה

 

אֵלַ֥י

thine ear

אָזְנֶ֑ךָ

אֶ֝קְרָ֗א

me speedily

מַהֵ֥ר

answer

עֲנֵֽנִי׃

 

כִּֽי

are consumed

כָל֣וּ

like smoke

בְעָשָׁ֣ן

For my days

יָמָ֑י

and my bones

וְ֝עַצְמוֹתַ֗י

as an hearth

כְּמוֹקֵ֥ד

are burned

נִחָֽרוּ׃

is smitten

הוּכָּֽה

like grass

כָ֭עֵשֶׂב

and withered

וַיִּבַ֣שׁ

My heart

לִבִּ֑י

 

כִּֽי

so that I forget

שָׁ֝כַ֗חְתִּי

to eat

מֵאֲכֹ֥ל

my bread

לַחְמִֽי׃

By reason of the voice

מִקּ֥וֹל

of my groaning

אַנְחָתִ֑י

cleave

דָּבְקָ֥ה

my bones

עַ֝צְמִ֗י

to my skin

לִבְשָׂרִֽי׃

I am like

דָּ֭מִיתִי

a pelican

לִקְאַ֣ת

of the wilderness

מִדְבָּ֑ר

 

הָ֝יִ֗יתִי

I am like an owl

כְּכ֣וֹס

of the desert

חֳרָבֽוֹת׃

I watch

שָׁקַ֥דְתִּי

 

וָאֶֽהְיֶ֑ה

and am as a sparrow

כְּ֝צִפּ֗וֹר

alone

בּוֹדֵ֥ד

 

עַל

upon the house top

גָּֽג׃

 

כָּל

me all the day

הַ֭יּוֹם

reproach

חֵרְפ֣וּנִי

Mine enemies

אוֹיְבָ֑י

and they that are mad

מְ֝הוֹלָלַ֗י

 

בִּ֣י

against me are sworn

נִשְׁבָּֽעוּ׃

 

כִּי

ashes

אֵ֭פֶר

like bread

כַּלֶּ֣חֶם

For I have eaten

אָכָ֑לְתִּי

my drink

וְ֝שִׁקֻּוַ֗י

with weeping

בִּבְכִ֥י

and mingled

מָסָֽכְתִּי׃

Because

מִפְּנֵֽי

of thine indignation

זַֽעַמְךָ֥

and thy wrath

וְקִצְפֶּ֑ךָ

 

כִּ֥י

for thou hast lifted me up

נְ֝שָׂאתַ֗נִי

and cast me down

וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵֽנִי׃

My days

יָ֭מַי

are like a shadow

כְּצֵ֣ל

that declineth

נָט֑וּי

 

וַ֝אֲנִ֗י

like grass

כָּעֵ֥שֶׂב

and I am withered

אִיבָֽשׁ׃

 

וְאַתָּ֣ה

But thou O LORD

יְ֭הוָה

for ever

לְעוֹלָ֣ם

shalt endure

תֵּשֵׁ֑ב

and thy remembrance

וְ֝זִכְרְךָ֗

generations

וָדֹֽר׃

generations

וָדֹֽר׃

 

אַתָּ֣ה

Thou shalt arise

תָ֭קוּם

and have mercy

תְּרַחֵ֣ם

upon Zion

צִיּ֑וֹן

 

כִּי

for the time

עֵ֥ת

to favour

לְ֝חֶֽנְנָ֗הּ

 

כִּי

is come

בָ֥א

her yea the set time

מוֹעֵֽד׃

 

כִּֽי

take pleasure

רָצ֣וּ

For thy servants

עֲ֭בָדֶיךָ

 

אֶת

in her stones

אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ

 

וְֽאֶת

the dust

עֲפָרָ֥הּ

and favour

יְחֹנֵֽנוּ׃

shall fear

וְיִֽירְא֣וּ

So the heathen

ג֭וֹיִם

 

אֶת

the name

שֵׁ֣ם

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

וְֽכָל

and all the kings

מַלְכֵ֥י

of the earth

הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ

 

אֶת

thy glory

כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃

 

כִּֽי

shall build up

בָנָ֣ה

When the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

Zion

צִיּ֑וֹן

he shall appear

נִ֝רְאָ֗ה

in his glory

בִּכְבוֹדֽוֹ׃

He will regard

פָּ֭נָה

 

אֶל

the prayer

תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃

of the destitute

הָעַרְעָ֑ר

 

וְלֹֽא

and not despise

בָ֝זָ֗ה

 

אֶת

the prayer

תְּפִלָּתָֽם׃

This shall be written

תִּכָּ֣תֶב

 

זֹ֭את

for the generation

לְד֣וֹר

to come

אַחֲר֑וֹן

and the people

וְעַ֥ם

which shall be created

נִ֝בְרָ֗א

shall praise

יְהַלֶּל

the LORD

יָֽהּ׃

 

כִּֽי

For he hath looked down

הִ֭שְׁקִיף

from the height

מִמְּר֣וֹם

of his sanctuary

קָדְשׁ֑וֹ

did the LORD

יְ֝הוָ֗ה

from heaven

מִשָּׁמַ֤יִם׀

 

אֶל

the earth

אֶ֬רֶץ

behold

הִבִּֽיט׃

To hear

לִ֭שְׁמֹעַ

the groaning

אֶנְקַ֣ת

of the prisoner

אָסִ֑יר

to loose

לְ֝פַתֵּ֗חַ

those that are appointed

בְּנֵ֣י

to death

תְמוּתָֽה׃

To declare

לְסַפֵּ֣ר

in Zion

בְּ֭צִיּוֹן

the name

שֵׁ֣ם

of the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

and his praise

וּ֝תְהִלָּת֗וֹ

in Jerusalem

בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

are gathered

בְּהִקָּבֵ֣ץ

When the people

עַמִּ֣ים

together

יַחְדָּ֑ו

and the kingdoms

וּ֝מַמְלָכ֗וֹת

to serve

לַעֲבֹ֥ד

 

אֶת

the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

He weakened

עִנָּ֖ה

in the way

בַדֶּ֥רֶךְ

my strength

כֹּחִ֗ו

he shortened

קִצַּ֥ר

my days

יָמָֽי׃

I said

אֹמַ֗ר

O my God

אֵלִ֗י

 

אַֽל

take me not away

תַּ֭עֲלֵנִי

in the midst

בַּחֲצִ֣י

of my days

יָמָ֑י

are throughout all

דּוֹרִ֣ים

are throughout all

דּוֹרִ֣ים

thy years

שְׁנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

Of old

לְ֭פָנִים

of the earth

הָאָ֣רֶץ

hast thou laid the foundation

יָסַ֑דְתָּ

are the work

וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה

of thy hands

יָדֶ֣יךָ

and the heavens

שָׁמָֽיִם׃

 

הֵ֤מָּה׀

They shall perish

יֹאבֵדוּ֮

 

וְאַתָּ֪ה

but thou shalt endure

תַ֫עֲמֹ֥ד

 

וְ֭כֻלָּם

like a garment

כַּבֶּ֣גֶד

yea all of them shall wax old

יִבְל֑וּ

as a vesture

כַּלְּב֖וּשׁ

shalt thou change

וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃

shalt thou change

וְֽיַחֲלֹֽפוּ׃

 

וְאַתָּה

 

ה֑וּא

But thou art the same and thy years

וּ֝שְׁנוֹתֶ֗יךָ

 

לֹ֣א

shall have no end

יִתָּֽמּוּ׃

The children

בְּנֵֽי

of thy servants

עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ

shall continue

יִשְׁכּ֑וֹנוּ

and their seed

וְ֝זַרְעָ֗ם

before

לְפָנֶ֥יךָ

shall be established

יִכּֽוֹן׃
