and cause me to escape

thou hast given commandment

me for thou art my rock

סַלְעִ֖י

and my fortress

וּמְצוּדָתִ֣י

me O my God

אֱֽלֹהַ֗י

Deliver

פַּ֭לְּטֵנִי

out of the hand

מִיַּ֣ד

of the wicked

רָשָׁ֑ע

out of the hand

מִכַּ֖ף

of the unrighteous

מְעַוֵּ֣ל

and cruel man

וְחוֹמֵץ׃

 

כִּֽי

 

אַתָּ֥ה

For thou art my hope

תִקְוָתִ֑י

O Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

 

יְ֝הוִ֗ה

thou art my trust

מִבְטַחִ֥י

from my youth

מִנְּעוּרָֽי׃

 

עָלֶ֤יךָ׀

By thee have I been holden up

נִסְמַ֬כְתִּי

from the womb

מִבֶּ֗טֶן

bowels

מִמְּעֵ֣י

me out of my mother's

אִ֭מִּי

 

אַתָּ֣ה

thou art he that took

גוֹזִ֑י

 

בְּךָ֖

my praise

תְהִלָּתִ֣י

shall be continually

תָמִֽיד׃

I am as a wonder

כְּ֭מוֹפֵת

 

הָיִ֣יתִי

unto many

לְרַבִּ֑ים

 

וְ֝אַתָּ֗ה

refuge

מַֽחֲסִי

but thou art my strong

עֹֽז׃

be filled

יִמָּ֣לֵא

Let my mouth

פִ֭י

with thy praise

תְּהִלָּתֶ֑ךָ

 

כָּל

all the day

הַ֝יּ֗וֹם

and with thy honour

תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽךָ׃

Cast me not off

תַּ֭שְׁלִיכֵנִי

in the time

לְעֵ֣ת

of old age

זִקְנָ֑ה

faileth

כִּכְל֥וֹת

me not when my strength

כֹּ֝חִ֗י

forsake

תַּעַזְבֵֽנִי׃

 

כִּֽי

speak

אָמְר֣וּ

For mine enemies

אוֹיְבַ֣י

 

לִ֑י

against me and they that lay wait

וְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י

for my soul

נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י

take counsel

נוֹעֲצ֥וּ

together

יַחְדָּֽו׃

לֵ֭אמֹר

God

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

hath forsaken

עֲזָב֑וֹ

him persecute

רִֽדְפ֥וּ

and take

וְ֝תִפְשׂ֗וּהוּ

 

כִּי

 

אֵ֥ין

him for there is none to deliver

מַצִּֽיל׃

O God

אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י

 

אַל

be not far

תִּרְחַ֣ק

 

מִמֶּ֑נִּי

O God

אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י

for my help

לְעֶזְרָ֥תִי

make haste

חֽיּשָׁה׃

Let them be confounded

יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ

and consumed

יִכְלוּ֮

that are adversaries

שֹׂטְנֵ֪י

to my soul

נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י

let them be covered

יַֽעֲט֣וּ

with reproach

חֶ֭רְפָּה

and dishonour

וּכְלִמָּ֑ה

that seek

מְ֝בַקְשֵׁ֗י

my hurt

רָעָתִֽי׃

 

וַ֭אֲנִי

continually

תָּמִ֣יד

But I will hope

אֲיַחֵ֑ל

and more

וְ֝הוֹסַפְתִּ֗י

 

עַל

 

כָּל

and will yet praise

תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃

My mouth

פִּ֤י׀

shall shew forth

יְסַפֵּ֬ר

thy righteousness

צִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ

all the day

הַיּ֥וֹם

and thy salvation

תְּשׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ

 

כִּ֤י

 

לֹ֖א

for I know

יָדַ֣עְתִּי

not the numbers

סְפֹרֽוֹת׃

I will go in

אָב֗וֹא

the strength

בִּ֭גְבֻרוֹת

of the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֑ה

I will make mention

אַזְכִּ֖יר

of thy righteousness

צִדְקָתְךָ֣

 

לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃

O God

אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים

thou hast taught

לִמַּדְתַּ֥נִי

me from my youth

מִנְּעוּרָ֑י

 

וְעַד

 

הֵ֝֗נָּה

and hitherto have I declared

אַגִּ֥יד

thy wondrous works

נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

 

וְגַ֤ם

Now also when

עַד

I am old

זִקְנָ֨ה׀

and grayheaded

וְשֵׂיבָה֮

O God

אֱלֹהִ֪ים

 

אַֽל

forsake

תַּעַ֫זְבֵ֥נִי

Now also when

עַד

me not until I have shewed

אַגִּ֣יד

thy strength

זְרוֹעֲךָ֣

unto this generation

לְד֑וֹר

 

לְכָל

to every one that is to come

יָ֝ב֗וֹא

and thy power

גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃

Thy righteousness

וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥

O God

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

 

עַד

is very high

מָ֫ר֥וֹם

who hast done

עָשִׂ֥יתָ

great things

גְדֹל֑וֹת

Thou which hast shewed

הִרְאִיתַ֨נִו׀

troubles

צָר֥וֹת

me great

רַבּ֗וֹת

and sore

וְרָ֫ע֥וֹת

again

תָּשׁ֥וּב

shalt quicken

תְּחַיֵּ֑ינִי

from the depths

וּֽמִתְּהֹמ֥וֹת

of the earth

הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ

again

תָּשׁ֥וּב

and shalt bring me up

תַּעֲלֵֽנִי׃

Thou shalt increase

תֶּ֤רֶב׀

my greatness

גְּֽדֻלָּתִ֗י

me on every side

וְתִסֹּ֥ב

and comfort

תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי׃

 

גַּם

 

אֲנִ֤י׀

I will also praise

אוֹדְךָ֣

thee with the psaltery

בִכְלִי

 

נֶבֶל֮

even thy truth

אֲמִתְּךָ֪

O my God

אֱלֹ֫הָ֥י

unto thee will I sing

אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה

 

לְךָ֣

with the harp

בְכִנּ֑וֹר

O thou Holy One

קְ֝ד֗וֹשׁ

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

shall greatly rejoice

תְּרַנֵּ֣נָּה

My lips

שְׂ֭פָתַי

when I sing

אֲזַמְּרָה

 

לָּ֑ךְ

unto thee and my soul

וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which thou hast redeemed

פָּדִֽיתָ׃

 

גַּם

My tongue

לְשׁוֹנִ֗י

 

כָּל

all the day

הַ֭יּוֹם

also shall talk

תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה

of thy righteousness

צִדְקָתֶ֑ךָ

 

כִּי

long for they are confounded

בֹ֥שׁוּ

 

כִֽי

for they are brought unto shame

חָ֝פְר֗וּ

that seek

מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י

my hurt

רָעָתִֽי׃
