him for they were troubled

נִבְהֲל֖וּ

at his presence

מִפָּנָֽיו׃

And he said

וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

unto his brethren

אֲחִיכֶ֔ם

Come near

וַיִּגָּ֑שׁוּ

אֵלַ֖י

And he said

unto his brethren

whom ye sold

מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם

 

אֹתִ֖י

into Egypt

מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃

 

וְעַתָּ֣ה׀

Now therefore be not grieved

תֵּעָ֣צְב֗וּ

 

וְאַל

nor angry

יִ֙חַר֙

with yourselves

בְּעֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם

 

כִּֽי

that ye sold

מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם

 

אֹתִ֖י

 

הֵ֑נָּה

 

כִּ֣י

to preserve life

לְמִֽחְיָ֔ה

did send

שְׁלָחַ֥נִי

me hither for God

אֱלֹהִ֖ים

me before you

לִפְנֵיכֶֽם׃

 

כִּי

 

זֶ֛ה

For these two years

שָׁנִ֔ים

hath the famine

הָֽרָעָ֖ב

been in

בְּקֶ֣רֶב

the land

הָאָ֑רֶץ

 

וְעוֹד֙

and yet there are five

חָמֵ֣שׁ

For these two years

שָׁנִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

in the which there shall neither

אֵין

be earing

חָרִ֖ישׁ

nor harvest

וְקָצִּֽיר׃

sent

וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֤נִי

And God

אֱלֹהִים֙

me before you

לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם

to preserve

לָשׂ֥וּם

 

לָכֶ֛ם

you a posterity

שְׁאֵרִ֖ית

in the earth

בָּאָ֑רֶץ

and to save your lives

וּלְהַֽחֲי֣וֹת

deliverance

לִפְלֵיטָ֖ה

by a great

גְּדֹלָֽה׃

 

וְעַתָּ֗ה

 

לֹֽא

 

אַתֶּ֞ם

So now it was not you that sent

שְׁלַחְתֶּ֤ם

 

אֹתִי֙

 

הֵ֔נָּה

 

כִּ֖י

me hither but God

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים

and he hath made

וַיְשִׂימֵ֨נִֽי

me a father

לְאָ֜ב

to Pharaoh

לְפַרְעֹ֗ה

and lord

וּלְאָדוֹן֙

 

לְכָל

of all his house

בֵּית֔וֹ

and a ruler

וּמֹשֵׁ֖ל

 

בְּכָל

throughout all the land

אֶ֥רֶץ

of Egypt

מִצְרָֽיִם׃

Haste

מַֽהֲרוּ֮

ye and go up

וַֽעֲל֣וּ

to my father

And there will I nourish

and he is governor

אֶ֣רֶץ

fainted

וַיָּ֣פָג

And Jacob's heart

לִבּ֔וֹ

for he believed

And they told
