a curse

הַמְּאֵרָ֔ה

upon you and I will curse

אָרוֹתִ֔יהָ

 

אֶת

your blessings

בִּרְכֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם

 

וְגַם֙

upon you and I will curse

אָרוֹתִ֔יהָ

 

כִּ֥י

 

אֵינְכֶ֖ם

and if ye will not lay

שָׂמִ֥ים

 

עַל

it to heart

לֵֽב׃

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will corrupt

גֹעֵ֤ר

 

לָכֶם֙

 

אֶת

your seed

הַזֶּ֔רַע

and spread

וְזֵרִ֤יתִי

dung

פֶּ֖רֶשׁ

 

עַל

upon your faces

פְּנֵיכֶ֔ם

dung

פֶּ֖רֶשׁ

of your solemn feasts

חַגֵּיכֶ֑ם

and one shall take you away

וְנָשָׂ֥א

 

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

 

אֵלָֽיו׃

And ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם

 

כִּ֚י

that I have sent

שִׁלַּ֣חְתִּי

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

 

אֵ֖ת

this commandment

הַמִּצְוָ֣ה

unto you that my covenant

בְּרִיתִי֙

might be with Levi

לֵוִ֔י

saith

אָמַ֖ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

of hosts

צְבָאֽוֹת׃

My covenant

בְּרִיתִ֣י׀

 

הָיְתָ֣ה

 

אִתּ֗וֹ

was with him of life

הַֽחַיִּים֙

and peace

וְהַ֨שָּׁל֔וֹם

and I gave

וָאֶתְּנֵֽם

 

ל֥וֹ

them to him for the fear

מוֹרָ֖א

wherewith he feared

וַיִּֽירָאֵ֑נִי

before

וּמִפְּנֵ֥י

my name

שְׁמִ֖י

me and was afraid

נִחַ֥ת

 

הֽוּא׃

The law

תּוֹרַ֤ת

of truth

אֱמֶת֙

 

הָיְתָ֣ה

was in his mouth

בְּפִ֔יהוּ

and iniquity

וְעַוְלָ֖ה

 

לֹא

was not found

נִמְצָ֣א

in his lips

בִשְׂפָתָ֑יו

with me in peace

בְּשָׁל֤וֹם

and equity

וּבְמִישׁוֹר֙

he walked

הָלַ֣ךְ

 

אִתִּ֔י

many

וְרַבִּ֖ים

and did turn

הֵשִׁ֥יב

from iniquity

מֵעָוֺֽן׃

 

כִּֽי

lips

שִׂפְתֵ֤י

For the priest's

כֹהֵן֙

should keep

יִשְׁמְרוּ

knowledge

דַ֔עַת

the law

וְתוֹרָ֖ה

and they should seek

יְבַקְשׁ֣וּ

at his mouth

מִפִּ֑יהוּ

 

כִּ֛י

for he is the messenger

מַלְאַ֥ךְ

of the LORD

יְהוָֽה

of hosts

צְבָא֖וֹת

 

הֽוּא׃

 

וְאַתֶּם֙

But ye are departed

סַרְתֶּ֣ם

 

מִן

out of the way

הַדֶּ֔רֶךְ

to stumble

הִכְשַׁלְתֶּ֥ם

ye have caused many

רַבִּ֖ים

at the law

בַּתּוֹרָ֑ה

ye have corrupted

שִֽׁחַתֶּם֙

the covenant

בְּרִ֣ית

of Levi

הַלֵּוִ֔י

saith

אָמַ֖ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֥ה

of hosts

צְבָאֽוֹת׃

 

וְגַם

 

אֲנִ֞י

Therefore have I also made

נָתַ֧תִּי

 

אֶתְכֶ֛ם

you contemptible

נִבְזִ֥ים

and base

וּשְׁפָלִ֖ים

 

לְכָל

before all the people

הָעָ֑ם

according

כְּפִ֗י

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

אֵֽינְכֶם֙

as ye have not kept

שֹׁמְרִ֣ים

 

אֶת

my ways

דְּרָכַ֔י

but have been partial

וְנֹשְׂאִ֥ים

 

פָּנִ֖ים

in the law

בַּתּוֹרָֽה׃

 

הֲל֨וֹא

father

אֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃

Have we not all one

אֶֽחָ֖ד

 

לְכֻלָּ֔נוּ

בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

and in Jerusalem

וּבִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

 

כִּ֣י׀

hath profaned

חִלֵּ֣ל

Judah

יְהוּדָ֗ה

the holiness

קֹ֤דֶשׁ

of the LORD

יְהוָה֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

which he loved

אָהֵ֔ב

and hath married

וּבָעַ֖ל

the daughter

of a strange

will cut off

insomuch that he regardeth

הַמִּנְחָ֔ה

וְלָקַ֥חַת

it with good will

Yet ye say

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם

Wherefore

hath been witness

וּבֵ֣ין׀

and the wife

וְאֵ֥שֶׁת

of thy youth

נְעוּרֶ֗יךָ

 

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

 

אַתָּה֙

against whom thou hast dealt treacherously

בָּגַ֣דְתָּה

 

בָּ֔הּ

 

וְהִ֥יא

yet is she thy companion

חֲבֶרְתְּךָ֖

and the wife

וְאֵ֥שֶׁת

of thy covenant

בְּרִיתֶֽךָ׃

 

וְלֹא

And wherefore one

הָֽאֶחָ֔ד

And did not he make

עָשָׂ֗ה

Yet had he the residue

וּשְׁאָ֥ר

of the spirit

בְּר֣וּחֲכֶ֔ם

וּמָה֙

And wherefore one

הָֽאֶחָ֔ד

That he might seek

מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ

זֶ֣רַע

a godly

אֱלֹהִ֑ים

וּבְאֵ֥שֶׁת

and let none deal treacherously

יִבְגֹּֽד׃

שָׂנֵ֣א

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

for one covereth

וְכִסָּ֤ה

with his garment

לְבוּשׁ֔וֹ

saith

אָמַ֖ר

For the LORD

צְבָא֑וֹת

therefore take heed

וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם

to your spirit

בְּרוּחֲכֶ֖ם

 

וְלֹ֥א

that ye deal not treacherously

תִבְגֹּֽדוּ׃

Wherein have we wearied

הוֹגָ֑עְנוּ

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

with your words

בְּדִבְרֵיכֶ֔ם

Yet ye say

בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם

 

בַּמָּ֣ה

Wherein have we wearied

הוֹגָ֑עְנוּ

Yet ye say

בֶּאֱמָרְכֶ֗ם

 

כָּל

Every one that doeth

עֹ֨שֵׂה

evil

רָ֜ע

is good

ט֣וֹב׀

in the sight

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

of the LORD

יְהוָ֗ה

 

וּבָהֶם֙

and he delighteth

חָפֵ֔ץ
