יְשֵׁנָ֖ה
but my heart
וְלִבִּ֣י
waketh
עֵ֑ר
it is the voice
ק֣וֹל׀
of my beloved
דּוֹדִ֣י
that knocketh
דוֹפֵ֗ק
saying Open
פִּתְחִי

לִ֞י
to me my sister
אֲחֹתִ֤י
my love
רַעְיָתִי֙

and my locks
קְוֻּצּוֹתַ֖י
with the drops
רְסִ֥יסֵי
of the night
לָֽיְלָה׃
3
I have put off
פָּשַׁ֙טְתִּי֙

אֶת
my coat
כֻּתָּנְתִּ֔י
how
אֵיכָ֥כָה
shall I put it on
אֶלְבָּשֶׁ֑נָּה
I have washed
רָחַ֥צְתִּי

אֶת
my feet
רַגְלַ֖י
how
אֵיכָ֥כָה

My beloved

of the door and my bowels
וּמֵעַ֖י

5
I rose up
קַ֥מְתִּֽי

אֲנִ֖י
to open
לִפְתֹּ֣חַ
to my beloved
לְדוֹדִ֑י
and my hands
וְיָדַ֣י
dropped
נָֽטְפוּ

I opened
פָּתַ֤חְתִּֽי

אֲנִי֙
but my beloved
וְדוֹדִ֖י
but my beloved
וְדוֹדִ֖י
had withdrawn
חָמַ֣ק
himself and was gone
עָבָ֑ר
my soul
נַפְשִׁי֙
failed
יָֽצְאָ֣ה
when he spake
בְדַבְּר֔וֹ
I sought
בִּקַּשְׁתִּ֙יהוּ֙

וְלֹ֣א
him but I could not find
מְצָאתִ֔יהוּ
him I called
קְרָאתִ֖יו

וְלֹ֥א
him but he gave me no answer
עָנָֽנִי׃
7
found
מְצָאֻ֧נִי
The watchmen
שֹׁמְרֵ֖י
that went about
הַסֹּבְבִ֥ים
the city
בָּעִ֖יר
me they smote
הִכּ֣וּנִי
me they wounded
פְצָע֑וּנִי
took away
נָשְׂא֤וּ

אֶת
my veil
