I will shew

And David

to comfort

unto thee are not his servants

chariots
רֶ֗כֶב
 
וְאֶת
and the king

and his people

and came
וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ
and pitched
וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ

And the children

gathered themselves together
נֶֽאֶסְפוּ֙
from their cities
מֵעָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם
and came
וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ
to battle
לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

And when David

of it he sent
וַיִּשְׁלַח֙

יוֹאָ֔ב

and all the host
צָבָ֖א
of the mighty men
הַגִּבּוֹרִֽים׃

וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙
And the children
בְּנֵ֣י
of Ammon
עַמּ֔וֹן
in array
וַיַּֽעַרְכ֥וּ
and put the battle
מִלְחָמָ֖ה
before the gate
פֶּ֣תַח
of the city
הָעִ֑יר
and the kings
וְהַמְּלָכִ֣ים
 
אֲשֶׁר
that were come
בָּ֔אוּ
 
לְבַדָּ֖ם
were by themselves in the field
בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃

Now when Joab

was set against him before

that the battle
הַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה

and behind
וְאָח֑וֹר
he chose out
בָּחוּר֙
 
מִכָּל
he chose out

of Israel
בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל
and put them in array
וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ
against
לִקְרַ֥את
the Syrians
אֲרָֽם׃

And the rest

of the people
הָעָ֔ם
he delivered
נָתַ֕ן
unto the hand
בְּיַ֖ד
of Abishai
אַבְשַׁ֣י
his brother
אָחִ֑יו
and they set themselves in array
וַיַּ֣עַרְכ֔וּ
against
לִקְרַ֖את
the children
בְּנֵ֥י
of Ammon
עַמּֽוֹן׃

And he said
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר
 
אִם
be too strong
יֶֽחֶזְק֥וּ
 
מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙
If the Syrians
אֲרָ֔ם
 
וְהָיִ֥יתָ
 
לִּ֖י
for me then thou shalt help
לִתְשׁוּעָ֑ה
 
וְאִם
me but if the children
בְּנֵ֥י
of Ammon
עַמּ֛וֹן
be too strong
יֶֽחֶזְק֥וּ
 
מִמְּךָ֖
for thee then I will help
וְהֽוֹשַׁעְתִּֽיךָ׃

Be of good courage
וְנִֽתְחַזְּקָה֙
Be of good courage
וְנִֽתְחַזְּקָה֙
 
בְּעַד
for our people
עַמֵּ֔נוּ
 
וּבְעַ֖ד
and for the cities
עָרֵ֣י
of our God
אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ
and let the LORD
וַֽיהוָ֔ה
that which is good
הַטּ֥וֹב
in his sight
בְּעֵינָ֖יו
do
יַֽעֲשֶֽׂה׃

the Syrians

unto the battle

saw
רָאוּ֙
 
כִּי
they likewise fled
וַיָּנ֣וּסוּ
that the Syrians
אֲרָ֔ם
they likewise fled
וַיָּנ֣וּסוּ

מִפְּנֵי֙
Abishai
אַבְשַׁ֣י
his brother

and entered
וַיָּבֹ֥א
into the city
הָעִ֑ירָה
and entered

and drew forth
וַיּוֹצִ֣יאוּ

And when the Syrians

that were beyond
מֵעֵ֣בֶר
the river
הַנָּהָ֑ר
and Shophach
וְשׁוֹפַ֛ךְ
the captain
שַׂר
of the host
צְבָ֥א
of Hadarezer
הֲדַדְעֶ֖זֶר
before
לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

And it was told
וַיֻּגַּ֣ד
David

and he gathered
וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֤ף

כָּל
all Israel
יִשְׂרָאֵל֙
and passed over
וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֣ר
Jordan
הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן
and came
וַיָּבֹ֣א
 
אֲלֵהֶ֔ם
in array
וַיַּֽעֲרֹ֨ךְ
 
אֲלֵהֶ֑ם

the Syrians

לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ
