a pestilence

upon Israel

הַמַּלְאָ֣ךְ׀

that smote

and said

הִנֵּ֨ה

 

אָֽנֹכִ֤י

Lo I have sinned

חָטָ֙אתִי֙

and I have done wickedly

הֶֽעֱוֵ֔יתִי

but these sheep

according to the saying

as the LORD

וַיַּשְׁקֵ֣ף

And Araunah

אֲרַ֔וְנָה

and saw

וַיַּ֤רְא

 

אֶת

himself before the king

לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ

 

וְאֶת

and his servants

עֲבָדָ֔יו

coming on

עֹֽבְרִ֖ים

 

עָלָ֑יו

went out

וַיֵּצֵ֣א

And Araunah

אֲרַ֔וְנָה

and bowed

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ

himself before the king

לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ

on his face

אַפָּ֖יו

upon the ground

אָֽרְצָה׃

said

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר

And Araunah

Wherefore is my lord

Let my lord

what seemeth good

רְאֵה֙

here be oxen

הַבָּקָ֖ר

for burnt sacrifice

לָֽעֹלָ֔ה

and threshing instruments

וְהַמֹּֽרִגִּ֛ים

and other instruments

וּכְלֵ֥י

here be oxen

הַבָּקָ֖ר

for wood

לָֽעֵצִֽים׃

 

הַכֹּ֗ל

Nay but I will surely

בִּמְחִ֔יר

עֹל֣וֹת

of that which doth cost me nothing

So the LORD

יְהוָה֙

and offered

וַיַּ֥עַל

burnt offerings

עֹל֖וֹת

and peace offerings

וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים

was intreated

וַיֵּֽעָתֵ֤ר

So the LORD

יְהוָה֙

for the land

לָאָ֔רֶץ

was stayed

וַתֵּֽעָצַ֥ר

and the plague

הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה

 

מֵעַ֥ל

from Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

built

וַיִּבֶן֩

And David

דָּוִ֤ד

there an altar

So the LORD

יְהוָה֙

and offered

וַיַּ֥עַל

burnt offerings

עֹל֖וֹת

and peace offerings

וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים

was intreated

וַיֵּֽעָתֵ֤ר

So the LORD

יְהוָה֙

for the land

לָאָ֔רֶץ

was stayed

וַתֵּֽעָצַ֥ר

and the plague

הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה

from Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
