and all the guests

הַקְּרֻאִים֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

אִתּ֔וֹ

 

וְהֵ֖ם

it as they had made an end

כִּלּ֣וּ

of eating

לֶֽאֱכֹ֑ל

heard

וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע

And when Joab

יוֹאָב֙

 

אֶת

Wherefore is this noise

קֽוֹל

of the trumpet

הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר

he said

וַיֹּ֕אמֶר

 

מַדּ֥וּעַ

Wherefore is this noise

קֽוֹל

of the city

הַקִּרְיָ֖ה

being in an uproar

הוֹמָֽה׃

 

עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ

And while he yet spake

מְדַבֵּ֔ר

 

וְהִנֵּ֧ה

behold Jonathan

יֽוֹנָתָ֛ן

the son

בֶּן

of Abiathar

אֶבְיָתָ֥ר

the priest

הַכֹּהֵ֖ן

came

בֹּ֔א

said

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר

and Adonijah

אֲדֹֽנִיָּ֙הוּ֙

came

בֹּ֔א

 

כִּ֣י

man

אִ֥ישׁ

for thou art a valiant

חַ֛יִל

 

אַ֖תָּה

good

וְט֥וֹב

and bringest

תְּבַשֵּֽׂר׃

answered

וַיַּ֙עַן֙

And Jonathan

יֽוֹנָתָ֔ן

and said

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

to Adonijah

לַאֲדֹֽנִיָּ֑הוּ

Verily

אֲבָ֕ל

our lord

אֲדֹנֵ֥ינוּ

king

הַמֶּֽלֶךְ

David

דָּוִ֖ד

king

הִמְלִ֥יךְ

 

אֶת

hath made Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

hath sent

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח

 

אִתּֽוֹ

And the king

הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

 

אֶת

with him Zadok

צָד֨וֹק

the priest

הַכֹּהֵ֜ן

 

וְאֶת

and Nathan

נָתָ֣ן

the prophet

הַנָּבִ֗יא

and Benaiah

וּבְנָיָ֙הוּ֙

the son

בֶּן

of Jehoiada

יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע

and the Cherethites

וְהַכְּרֵתִ֖י

and the Pelethites

וְהַפְּלֵתִ֑י

and they have caused him to ride

וַיַּרְכִּ֣בוּ

 

אֹת֔וֹ

הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

וַיִּמְשְׁח֣וּ

and they are come up

וַיַּֽעֲל֤וּ

 

מִשָּׁם֙

from thence rejoicing

שְׂמֵחִ֔ים

rang again

וַתֵּהֹ֖ם

so that the city

הַקִּרְיָ֑ה

 

ה֥וּא

This is the noise

הַקּ֖וֹל

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that ye have heard

שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃

 

וְגַם֙

And also Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה

 

עַ֖ל

on the throne

כִּסֵּ֥א

of the kingdom

הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃

 

וְגַם

בָּ֜אוּ

servants

עַבְדֵ֣י

And moreover the king's

הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

to bless

לְ֠בָרֵךְ

 

אֶת

our lord

אֲדֹנֵ֜ינוּ

And moreover the king's

And also thus said

אָמַ֣ר

the king

הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ

Blessed

בָּר֨וּךְ

be the LORD

יְהוָ֜ה

God

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

 

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

which hath given

נָתַ֥ן

this day

הַיּ֛וֹם

one to sit

יֹשֵׁ֥ב

 

עַל

on my throne

כִּסְאִ֖י

mine eyes

וְעֵינַ֥י

even seeing

רֹאֽוֹת׃

were afraid

וַיֶּֽחֶרְדוּ֙

and rose up

וַיָּקֻ֔מוּ

 

כָּל

And all the guests

הַ֨קְּרֻאִ֔ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֖ר

that were with Adonijah

לַאֲדֹֽנִיָּ֑הוּ

 

וַיֵּֽלְכ֖וּ

every man

אִ֥ישׁ

his way

לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃

And Adonijah

וַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ

feared

יָרֵ֖א

because

מִפְּנֵ֣י

of Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה

and arose

וַיָּ֣קָם

 

וַיֵּ֔לֶךְ

and caught hold

וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק

on the horns

בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת

of the altar

הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

And it was told

וַיֻּגַּ֤ד

Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

 

הִנֵּה֙

Behold Adonijah

אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ

feareth

יָרֵ֖א

 

אֶת

Let king

הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה

 

וְ֠הִנֵּה

for lo he hath caught hold

אָחַ֞ז

on the horns

בְּקַרְנ֤וֹת

of the altar

הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙

saying

לֵאמֹ֔ר

swear

יִשָּׁבַֽע

 

לִ֤י

unto me to day

כַיּוֹם֙

Let king

הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה

 

אִם

that he will not slay

יָמִ֥ית

 

אֶת

his servant

עַבְדּ֖וֹ

with the sword

בֶּחָֽרֶב׃

said

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר

And Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה

 

אִ֚ם

 

יִֽהְיֶ֣ה

man

לְבֶן

If he will shew himself a worthy

חַ֔יִל

 

לֹֽא

of him fall

יִפֹּ֥ל

there shall not an hair

מִשַּֽׂעֲרָת֖וֹ

to the earth

אָ֑רְצָה

 

וְאִם

but if wickedness

רָעָ֥ה

shall be found

תִמָּֽצֵא

 

ב֖וֹ

in him he shall die

וָמֵֽת׃

וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח

So king

לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה

and they brought him down

וַיֹּרִדֻ֙הוּ֙

 

מֵעַ֣ל

from the altar

הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ

And he came

וַיָּבֹ֕א

and bowed

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

So king

לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

Solomon

שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה

said

וַיֹּֽאמֶר

שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה

 

לֵ֥ךְ

to thine house

לְבֵיתֶֽךָ׃
