Hear

שִׁמְע֖וּ

ye the word

דְּבַר

of the LORD

כֹּ֤ה

Thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

Woe

ה֖וֹי

 

עַל

prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים

unto the foolish

הַנְּבָלִ֑ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

that follow

הֹלְכִ֛ים

 

אַחַ֥ר

their own spirit

רוּחָ֖ם

 

וּלְבִלְתִּ֥י

and have seen

רָאֽוּ׃

are like the foxes

כְּשֻׁעָלִ֖ים

in the deserts

בָּחֳרָב֑וֹת

thy prophets

נְבִיאֶ֥יךָ

O Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

הָיֽוּ׃

 

לֹ֤א

Ye have not gone up

עֲלִיתֶם֙

into the gaps

בַּפְּרָצ֔וֹת

neither made up

וַתִּגְדְּר֥וּ

the hedge

גָדֵ֖ר

 

עַל

for the house

בֵּ֣ית

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

to stand

לַעֲמֹ֥ד

in the battle

בַּמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

in the day

בְּי֥וֹם

of the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

They have seen

חָ֤זוּ

vanity

שָׁוְא֙

divination

וְקֶ֣סֶם

and lying

כָּזָ֔ב

saying

הָאֹֽמְרִים֙

saith

נְאֻם

The LORD

וַֽיהוָ֖ה

The LORD

וַֽיהוָ֖ה

 

לֹ֣א

hath not sent

שְׁלָחָ֑ם

them and they have made others to hope

וְיִֽחֲל֖וּ

that they would confirm

לְקַיֵּ֥ם

the word

דָּבָֽר׃

 

הֲל֤וֹא

vision

מַֽחֲזֵה

a vain

שָׁוְא֙

Have ye not seen

חֲזִיתֶ֔ם

divination

וּמִקְסַ֥ם

a lying

כָּזָ֖ב

and have ye not spoken

דִבַּֽרְתִּי׃

it albeit I have not spoken

וְאֹֽמְרִים֙

saith

נְאֻם

The LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

 

וַאֲנִ֖י

 

לֹ֥א

and have ye not spoken

דִבַּֽרְתִּי׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִֽה׃

 

יַ֚עַן

Because ye have spoken

דַּבֶּרְכֶ֣ם

vanity

שָׁ֔וְא

and seen

וַחֲזִיתֶ֖ם

lies

כָּזָ֑ב

 

לָכֵן֙

 

הִנְנִ֣י

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

therefore behold I am against you saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִֽה׃

 

וְהָיְתָ֣ה

And mine hand

יָדִ֗י

 

אֶֽל

shall be upon the prophets

הַנְּבִיאִ֞ים

that see

הַחֹזִ֣ים

vanity

שָׁוְא֮

and that divine

וְהַקֹּסְמִ֣ים

lies

כָּזָב֒

they shall not be in the assembly

בְּס֧וֹד

of my people

עַמִּ֣י

 

לֹֽא

 

יִהְי֗וּ

in the writing

וּבִכְתָ֤ב

of the house

בֵּֽית

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

לֹ֣א

neither shall they be written

יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ

 

וְאֶל

into the land

אַדְמַ֥ת

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

 

לֹ֣א

neither shall they enter

יָבֹ֑אוּ

and ye shall know

וִידַעְתֶּ֕ם

 

כִּ֥י

 

אֲנִ֖י

that I am the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

 

יְהוִֽה׃

 

יַ֣עַן

 

וּבְיַ֜עַן

Because even because they have seduced

הִטְע֧וּ

 

אֶת

my people

עַמִּ֛י

saying

לֵאמֹ֥ר

Peace

שָׁל֑וֹם

 

וְאֵ֣ין

Peace

שָׁל֑וֹם

 

וְהוּא֙

and one built up

בֹּ֣נֶה

a wall

חַ֔יִץ

and lo

וְהִנָּ֛ם

others daubed

טָחִ֥ים

 

אֹת֖וֹ

it with untempered

תָּפֵֽל׃

Say

אֱמֹ֛ר

 

אֶל

unto them which daub

טָחֵ֥י

it with untempered

תָפֵ֖ל

morter that it shall fall

תִּפֹּ֔לְנָה

 

הָיָ֣ה׀

shower

גֶּ֣שֶׁם

there shall be an overflowing

שׁוֹטֵ֗ף

and ye

וְאַתֵּ֜נָה

 

אַבְנֵ֤י

O great hailstones

אֶלְגָּבִישׁ֙

morter that it shall fall

תִּפֹּ֔לְנָה

wind

וְר֥וּחַ

and a stormy

סְעָר֖וֹת

shall rend

תְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃

 

וְהִנֵּ֖ה

is fallen

נָפַ֣ל

Lo when the wall

הַקִּ֑יר

 

הֲלוֹא֙

shall it not be said

יֵאָמֵ֣ר

 

אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם

 

אַיֵּ֥ה

unto you Where is the daubing

הַטִּ֖יחַ

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

wherewith ye have daubed

טַחְתֶּֽם׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

 

כֹּ֤ה

Therefore thus saith

אָמַר֙

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֔ה

I will even rend

וּבִקַּעְתִּ֥י

wind

רֽוּחַ

it with a stormy

סְעָר֖וֹת

in my fury

בְּחֵמָ֥ה

shower

וְגֶ֤שֶׁם

and there shall be an overflowing

שֹׁטֵף֙

in mine anger

בְּאַפִּ֣י

 

יִֽהְיֶ֔ה

 

וְאַבְנֵ֥י

and great hailstones

אֶלְגָּבִ֖ישׁ

in my fury

בְּחֵמָ֥ה

to consume

לְכָלָֽה׃

So will I break down

וְהָ֨רַסְתִּ֜י

 

אֶת

the wall

הַקִּ֨יר

 

אֲשֶׁר

that ye have daubed

טַחְתֶּ֥ם

with untempered

תָּפֵ֛ל

morter and bring

וְהִגַּעְתִּ֥יהוּ

 

אֶל

it down to the ground

הָאָ֖רֶץ

thereof shall be discovered

וְנִגְלָ֣ה

so that the foundation

יְסֹד֑וֹ

and it shall fall

וְנָֽפְלָה֙

and ye shall be consumed

וּכְלִיתֶ֣ם

in the midst

בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ

thereof and ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

Thus will I accomplish

וְכִלֵּיתִ֤י

 

אֶת

my wrath

חֲמָתִי֙

unto you The wall

הַקִּ֔יר

and upon them that have daubed

הַטָּחִ֥ים

 

אֹת֖וֹ

it with untempered

תָּפֵ֑ל

morter and will say

וְאֹמַ֤ר

 

לָכֶם֙

 

אֵ֣ין

unto you The wall

הַקִּ֔יר

 

וְאֵ֖ין

and upon them that have daubed

הַטָּחִ֥ים

 

אֹתֽוֹ׃

To wit the prophets

נְבִיאֵ֣י

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

which prophesy

הַֽנִבְּאִים֙

 

אֶל

concerning Jerusalem

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and which see

וְהַחֹזִ֥ים

 

לָ֖הּ

visions

חֲז֣וֹן

for her and there is no peace

שָׁלֹ֔ם

 

וְאֵ֣ין

for her and there is no peace

שָׁלֹ֔ם

saith

נְאֻ֖ם

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֥י

GOD

יְהוִֹֽה׃

 

וְאַתָּ֣ה

Likewise thou son

בֶן

of man

אָדָ֗ם

set

שִׂ֤ים

thy face

פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙

 

אֶל

against the daughters

בְּנ֣וֹת

of thy people

עַמְּךָ֔

and prophesy

וְהִנָּבֵ֖א

out of their own heart

מִֽלִּבְּהֶ֑ן

and prophesy

וְהִנָּבֵ֖א

 

עֲלֵיהֶֽן׃

And say

אָמַ֣ר׀

 

כֹּה

And say

אָמַ֣ר׀

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֗ה

Woe

הוֹי֩

to the women that sew

לִֽמְתַפְּר֨וֹת

pillows

כְּסָת֜וֹת

 

עַ֣ל׀

 

כָּל

to all armholes

אַצִּילֵ֣י

 

יָדַ֗י

and make

וְעֹשׂ֧וֹת

kerchiefs

הַמִּסְפָּח֛וֹת

 

עַל

upon the head

רֹ֥אשׁ

 

כָּל

of every stature

קוֹמָ֖ה

Will ye hunt

תְּצוֹדֵ֣דְנָה

souls

וּנְפָשׁ֖וֹת

souls

וּנְפָשׁ֖וֹת

Will ye hunt

תְּצוֹדֵ֣דְנָה

of my people

לְעַמִּ֔י

souls

וּנְפָשׁ֖וֹת

alive

תְחַיֶּֽינָה׃

alive

תְחַיֶּֽינָה׃

And will ye pollute

וַתְּחַלֶּלְ֨נָה

 

אֹתִ֜י

 

אֶל

me among my people

לְעַמִּ֖י

for handfuls

בְּשַׁעֲלֵ֣י

of barley

שְׂעֹרִים֮

and for pieces

וּבִפְת֣וֹתֵי

of bread

לֶחֶם֒

that should not die

תְמוּתֶ֔נָה

the souls

נְפָשׁ֖וֹת

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹֽא

that should not die

תְמוּתֶ֔נָה

alive

תִֽחְיֶ֑ינָה

the souls

נְפָשׁ֖וֹת

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

 

לֹא

by your lying

בְּכַ֨זֶּבְכֶ֔ם

me among my people

לְעַמִּ֖י

that hear

שֹׁמְעֵ֥י

your lies

לָכֵ֞ן

 

כֹּה

Wherefore thus saith

אָמַ֣ר׀

the Lord

אֲדֹנָ֣י

GOD

יְהוִ֗ה

 

הִנְנִ֤י

 

אֶל

Behold I am against your pillows

כִּסְּתוֹתֵיכֶ֙נָה֙

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

wherewith ye

אַתֶּ֛ם

that ye hunt

מְצֹדְד֥וֹת

 

שָׁ֤ם

 

אֶת

and will let the souls

נְפָשִׁ֖ים

to make them fly

לְפֹרְחֹֽת׃

and I will tear

וְקָרַעְתִּ֣י

 

אֹתָ֔ם

 

מֵעַ֖ל

them from your arms

זְרוֹעֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם

go

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי֙

 

אֶת

and will let the souls

נְפָשִׁ֖ים

 

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

wherewith ye

אַתֶּ֛ם

that ye hunt

מְצֹדְד֥וֹת

 

אֶת

and will let the souls

נְפָשִׁ֖ים

to make them fly

לְפֹרְחֹֽת׃

also will I tear

וְקָרַעְתִּ֞י

 

אֶת

Your kerchiefs

מִסְפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם

and deliver

וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י

 

אֶת

my people

עַמִּי֙

and they shall be no more in your hand

בְּיֶדְכֶ֖ן

 

וְלֹֽא

 

יִהְי֥וּ

 

ע֛וֹד

and they shall be no more in your hand

בְּיֶדְכֶ֖ן

to be hunted

לִמְצוּדָ֑ה

and ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ן

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃

 

יַ֣עַן

sad

הַכְא֤וֹת

ye have made the heart

לֵב

of the righteous

צַדִּיק֙

Because with lies

שֶׁ֔קֶר

 

וַאֲנִ֖י

 

לֹ֣א

whom I have not made sad

הִכְאַבְתִּ֑יו

and strengthened

וּלְחַזֵּק֙

the hands

יְדֵ֣י

of the wicked

רָשָׁ֔ע

 

לְבִלְתִּי

that he should not return

שׁ֛וּב

way

מִדַּרְכּ֥וֹ

from his wicked

הָרָ֖ע

by promising him life

לְהַחֲיֹתֽוֹ׃

 

לָכֵ֗ן

no more vanity

שָׁ֚וְא

 

לֹ֣א

Therefore ye shall see

תֶחֱזֶ֔ינָה

divinations

וְקֶ֖סֶם

 

לֹא

nor divine

תִקְסַ֣מְנָה

 

ע֑וֹד

for I will deliver

וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י

 

אֶת

my people

עַמִּי֙

out of your hand

מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ן

and ye shall know

וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ן

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֥י

that I am the LORD

יְהוָֽה׃
