בֹּרַאֲךָ֣

thee O Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

וְיֹצֶרְךָ֖

thee O Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

אַל

Fear

תִּירָא֙

 

כִּ֣י

not for I have redeemed

גְאַלְתִּ֔יךָ

thee I have called

קָרָ֥אתִי

thee by thy name

בְשִׁמְךָ֖

 

לִי

 

אָֽתָּה׃

 

כִּֽי

When thou passest through

תַעֲבֹ֤ר

the waters

בַּמַּ֙יִם֙

 

אִתְּךָ

 

אָ֔נִי

I will be with thee and through the rivers

וּבַנְּהָר֖וֹת

 

לֹ֣א

they shall not overflow

יִשְׁטְפ֑וּךָ

 

כִּֽי

 

תֵלֵ֤ךְ

through

בְּמוֹ

the fire

אֵשׁ֙

 

לֹ֣א

thou shalt not be burned

תִכָּוֶ֔ה

neither shall the flame

וְלֶהָבָ֖ה

 

לֹ֥א

kindle

תִבְעַר

 

בָּֽךְ׃

 

כִּ֗י

 

אֲנִי֙

For I am the LORD

יְהוָ֣ה

thy God

אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ

the Holy One

קְד֥וֹשׁ

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

thy Saviour

מוֹשִׁיעֶ֑ךָ

I gave

נָתַ֤תִּי

for thy ransom

כָפְרְךָ֙

Egypt

מִצְרַ֔יִם

Ethiopia

כּ֥וּשׁ

and Seba

וּסְבָ֖א

 

תַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃

 

מֵאֲשֶׁ֨ר

Since thou wast precious

יָקַ֧רְתָּ

in my sight

בְעֵינַ֛י

thou hast been honourable

נִכְבַּ֖דְתָּ

 

וַאֲנִ֣י

and I have loved

אֲהַבְתִּ֑יךָ

thee therefore will I give

וְאֶתֵּ֤ן

men

אָדָם֙

 

תַּחְתֶּ֔יךָ

for thee and people

וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים

 

תַּ֥חַת

for thy life

נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃

 

אַל

Fear

תִּירָ֖א

 

כִּ֣י

 

אִתְּךָ

 

אָ֑נִי

from the east

מִמִּזְרָח֙

not for I am with thee I will bring

אָבִ֣יא

thy seed

זַרְעֶ֔ךָ

thee from the west

וּמִֽמַּעֲרָ֖ב

and gather

אֲקַבְּצֶֽךָּ׃

I will say

אֹמַ֤ר

to the north

לַצָּפוֹן֙

Give up

תֵּ֔נִי

and to the south

וּלְתֵימָ֖ן

 

אַל

Keep not back

תִּכְלָ֑אִי

bring

הָבִ֤יאִי

my sons

בָנַי֙

from far

מֵרָח֔וֹק

and my daughters

וּבְנוֹתַ֖י

from the ends

מִקְצֵ֥ה

of the earth

הָאָֽרֶץ׃

Even every one

כֹּ֚ל

that is called

הַנִּקְרָ֣א

by my name

בִשְׁמִ֔י

him for my glory

וְלִכְבוֹדִ֖י

for I have created

בְּרָאתִ֑יו

I have formed

יְצַרְתִּ֖יו

 

אַף

him yea I have made

עֲשִׂיתִֽיו׃

Bring forth

הוֹצִ֥יא

people

עַם

the blind

עִוֵּ֖ר

eyes

וְעֵינַ֣יִם

that have

יֵ֑שׁ

and the deaf

וְחֵרְשִׁ֖ים

that have ears

וְאָזְנַ֥יִם

 

לָֽמוֹ׃

 

כָּֽל

Let all the nations

הַגּוֹיִ֞ם

be gathered

נִקְבְּצ֣וּ

together

יַחְדָּ֗ו

be assembled

וְיֵאָֽסְפוּ֙

and let the people

לְאֻמִּ֔ים

 

מִ֤י

 

בָהֶם֙

who among them can declare

יַגִּ֣יד

 

זֹ֔את

us former things

וְרִֽאשֹׁנ֖וֹת

or let them hear

וְיִשְׁמְע֖וּ

let them bring forth

יִתְּנ֤וּ

their witnesses

עֵֽדֵיהֶם֙

that they may be justified

וְיִצְדָּ֔קוּ

or let them hear

וְיִשְׁמְע֖וּ

and say

וְיֹאמְר֥וּ

It is truth

אֱמֶֽת׃

 

אַתֶּ֤ם

Ye are my witnesses

עֵדַי֙

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

and my servant

וְעַבְדִּ֖י

 

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

whom I have chosen

בָּחָ֑רְתִּי

 

לְמַ֣עַן

that ye may know

תֵּ֠דְעוּ

and believe

וְתַאֲמִ֨ינוּ

 

לִ֤י

me and understand

וְתָבִ֙ינוּ֙

 

כִּֽי

 

אֲנִ֣י

 

ה֔וּא

that I am he before

לְפָנַי֙

 

לֹא

formed

נ֣וֹצַר

me there was no God

אֵ֔ל

neither shall there be after

וְאַחֲרַ֖י

 

לֹ֥א

 

יִהְיֶֽה׃

 

אָנֹכִ֥י

 

אָנֹכִ֖י

I even I am the LORD

יְהוָ֑ה

 

וְאֵ֥ין

and beside

מִבַּלְעָדַ֖י

me there is no saviour

מוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃

 

אָנֹכִ֞י

I have declared

הִגַּ֤דְתִּי

and have saved

וְהוֹשַׁ֙עְתִּי֙

and I have shewed

וְהִשְׁמַ֔עְתִּי

 

וְאֵ֥ין

 

בָּכֶ֖ם

when there was no strange

זָ֑ר

 

וְאַתֶּ֥ם

god among you therefore ye are my witnesses

עֵדַ֛י

saith

נְאֻם

the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

 

וַֽאֲנִי

that I am God

אֵֽל׃

 

גַּם

Yea before the day

מִיּוֹם֙

 

אֲנִ֣י

 

ה֔וּא

 

וְאֵ֥ין

out of my hand

מִיָּדִ֖י

was I am he and there is none that can deliver

מַצִּ֑יל

I will work

אֶפְעַ֖ל

 

וּמִ֥י

and who shall let

יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃

 

כֹּֽה

Thus saith

אָמַ֧ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֛ה

your redeemer

גֹּאַלְכֶ֖ם

the Holy One

קְד֣וֹשׁ

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

 

לְמַעַנְכֶ֞ם

For your sake I have sent

שִׁלַּ֣חְתִּי

to Babylon

בָבֶ֗לָה

and have brought down

וְהוֹרַדְתִּ֤י

all their nobles

בָֽרִיחִים֙

 

כֻּלָּ֔ם

and the Chaldeans

וְכַשְׂדִּ֖ים

is in the ships

בָּאֳנִיּ֥וֹת

whose cry

רִנָּתָֽם׃

 

אֲנִ֥י

I am the LORD

יְהוָ֖ה

your Holy One

קְדֽוֹשְׁכֶ֑ם

the creator

בּוֹרֵ֥א

of Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

your King

מַלְכְּכֶֽם׃

 

כֹּ֚ה

Thus saith

אָמַ֣ר

the LORD

יְהוָ֔ה

which maketh

הַנּוֹתֵ֥ן

in the sea

בַּיָּ֖ם

a way

דָּ֑רֶךְ

waters

וּבְמַ֥יִם

in the mighty

עַזִּ֖ים

and a path

נְתִיבָֽה׃

Which bringeth forth

הַמּוֹצִ֥יא

the chariot

רֶֽכֶב

and horse

וָס֖וּס

the army

חַ֣יִל

and the power

וְעִזּ֑וּז

together

יַחְדָּ֤ו

they shall lie down

יִשְׁכְּבוּ֙

 

בַּל

they shall not rise

יָק֔וּמוּ

they are extinct

דָּעֲכ֖וּ

as tow

כַּפִּשְׁתָּ֥ה

they are quenched

כָבֽוּ׃

 

אַֽל

Remember

תִּזְכְּר֖וּ

ye not the former things

רִֽאשֹׁנ֑וֹת

the things of old

וְקַדְמֹנִיּ֖וֹת

 

אַל

neither consider

תִּתְבֹּנָֽנוּ׃

 

הִנְנִ֨י

Behold I will do

עֹשֶׂ֤ה

a new thing

חֲדָשָׁה֙

 

עַתָּ֣ה

now it shall spring forth

תִצְמָ֔ח

 

הֲל֖וֹא

shall ye not know

תֵֽדָע֑וּהָ

 

אַ֣ף

it I will even make

אָשִׂ֤ים

in the wilderness

בַּמִּדְבָּר֙

a way

דֶּ֔רֶךְ

in the desert

בִּֽישִׁמ֖וֹן

and rivers

נְהָרֽוֹת׃

shall honour

תְּכַבְּדֵ֙נִי֙

The beast

חַיַּ֣ת

of the field

הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה

me the dragons

תַּנִּ֖ים

and the owls

וּבְנ֣וֹת

 

יַֽעֲנָ֑ה

 

כִּֽי

because I give

נָתַ֨תִּי

in the wilderness

בַמִּדְבָּ֜ר

waters

מַ֗יִם

and rivers

נְהָרוֹת֙

in the desert

בִּֽישִׁימֹ֔ן

to give drink

לְהַשְׁק֖וֹת

to my people

עַמִּ֥י

my chosen

בְחִירִֽי׃

people

עַם

This

זוּ֙

have I formed

יָצַ֣רְתִּי

 

לִ֔י

my praise

תְּהִלָּתִ֖י

for myself they shall shew forth

יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃

 

וְלֹא

 

אֹתִ֥י

But thou hast not called

קָרָ֖אתָ

upon me O Jacob

יַֽעֲקֹ֑ב

 

כִּֽי

but thou hast been weary

יָגַ֥עְתָּ

 

בִּ֖י

of me O Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

 

לֹֽא

Thou hast not brought

הֵבֵ֤יאתָ

 

לִּי֙

me the small cattle

שֵׂ֣ה

of thy burnt offerings

עֹלֹתֶ֔יךָ

me with thy sacrifices

וּזְבָחֶ֖יךָ

 

לֹ֣א

neither hast thou honoured

כִבַּדְתָּ֑נִי

 

לֹ֤א

I have not caused thee to serve

הֶעֱבַדְתִּ֙יךָ֙

with an offering

בְּמִנְחָ֔ה

 

וְלֹ֥א

nor wearied

הוֹגַעְתִּ֖יךָ

thee with incense

בִּלְבוֹנָֽה׃

 

לֹא

Thou hast bought

קָנִ֨יתָ

 

לִּ֤י

with money

בַכֶּ֙סֶף֙

me no sweet cane

קָנֶ֔ה

me with the fat

וְחֵ֥לֶב

of thy sacrifices

זְבָחֶ֖יךָ

 

לֹ֣א

neither hast thou filled

הִרְוִיתָ֑נִי

 

אַ֗ךְ

but thou hast made me to serve

הֶעֱבַדְתַּ֙נִי֙

with thy sins

בְּחַטֹּאותֶ֔יךָ

thou hast wearied

הוֹגַעְתַּ֖נִי

me with thine iniquities

בַּעֲוֺנֹתֶֽיךָ׃

 

אָנֹכִ֨י

 

אָנֹכִ֥י

 

ה֛וּא

I even I am he that blotteth out

מֹחֶ֥ה

thy transgressions

פְשָׁעֶ֖יךָ

 

לְמַעֲנִ֑י

thy sins

וְחַטֹּאתֶ֖יךָ

 

לֹ֥א

for mine own sake and will not remember

אֶזְכֹּֽר׃

Put me in remembrance

הַזְכִּירֵ֕נִי

let us plead

נִשָּׁפְטָ֖ה

together

יָ֑חַד

declare

סַפֵּ֥ר

 

אַתָּ֖ה

 

לְמַ֥עַן

thou that thou mayest be justified

תִּצְדָּֽק׃

father

אָבִ֥יךָ

Thy first

הָרִאשׁ֖וֹן

hath sinned

חָטָ֑א

and thy teachers

וּמְלִיצֶ֖יךָ

have transgressed

פָּ֥שְׁעוּ

 

בִֽי׃

Therefore I have profaned

וַאֲחַלֵּ֖ל

the princes

שָׂ֣רֵי

of the sanctuary

קֹ֑דֶשׁ

and have given

וְאֶתְּנָ֤ה

to the curse

לַחֵ֙רֶם֙

Jacob

יַעֲקֹ֔ב

and Israel

וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

to reproaches

לְגִדּוּפִֽים׃
