that I am not wicked

וְאֵ֖ין

out of thine hand

מִיָּדְךָ֣

and there is none that can deliver

מַצִּֽיל׃

Thine hands

יָדֶ֣יךָ

have made

עִ֭צְּבוּנִי

me and fashioned

וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֑וּנִי

me together

יַ֥חַד

round about

סָ֝בִ֗יב

yet thou dost destroy

וַֽתְּבַלְּעֵֽנִי׃

as milk

כֶ֭חָלָב

Hast thou not poured me out

תַּתִּיכֵ֑נִי

me like cheese

וְ֝כַגְּבִנָּ֗ה

and curdled

תַּקְפִּיאֵֽנִי׃

me with skin

ע֣וֹר

and flesh

וּ֭בָשָׂר

Thou hast clothed

תַּלְבִּישֵׁ֑נִי

me with bones

וּֽבַעֲצָמ֥וֹת

and sinews

וְ֝גִידִ֗ים

and hast fenced

תְּשֹׂכֲכֵֽנִי׃

me life

חַיִּ֣ים

and favour

וָ֭חֶסֶד

Thou hast granted

עָשִׂ֣יתָ

 

עִמָּדִ֑י

and thy visitation

וּ֝פְקֻדָּתְךָ֗

hath preserved

שָֽׁמְרָ֥ה

my spirit

רוּחִֽי׃

 

וְ֭אֵלֶּה

And these things hast thou hid

צָפַ֣נְתָּ

in thine heart

בִלְבָבֶ֑ךָ

I know

יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי

 

כִּי

 

זֹ֥את

 

עִמָּֽךְ׃

 

אִם

If I sin

חָטָ֥אתִי

then thou markest

וּשְׁמַרְתָּ֑נִי

me from mine iniquity

וּ֝מֵעֲוֺנִ֗י

 

לֹ֣א

me and thou wilt not acquit

תְנַקֵּֽנִי׃

 

אִם

If I be wicked

רָשַׁ֡עְתִּי

woe

אַלְלַ֬י

 

לִ֗י

unto me and if I be righteous

וְ֭צָדַקְתִּי

 

לֹא

yet will I not lift up

אֶשָּׂ֣א

my head

רֹאשִׁ֑י

I am full

שְׂבַ֥ע

of confusion

קָ֝ל֗וֹן

 

וּרְאֵ֥ה

thou mine affliction

עָנְיִֽי׃

For it increaseth

וְ֭יִגְאֶה

me as a fierce lion

כַּשַּׁ֣חַל

Thou huntest

תְּצוּדֵ֑נִי

and again

וְ֝תָשֹׁ֗ב

thou shewest thyself marvellous

תִּתְפַּלָּא

 

בִֽי׃

Thou renewest

תְּחַדֵּ֬שׁ

thy witnesses

עֵדֶ֨יךָ׀

 

נֶגְדִּ֗י

against me and increasest

וְתֶ֣רֶב

thine indignation

כַּֽ֭עַשְׂךָ

upon me

עִמָּדִ֑י

changes

חֲלִיפ֖וֹת

and war

וְצָבָ֣א

 

עִמִּֽי׃

 

וְלָ֣מָּה

out of the womb

מֵ֭רֶחֶם

Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth

הֹצֵאתָ֑נִי
